X class locos on the Bomen oil train - December 2009

Scenes recorded on two Saturdays in December 2009 of a variety of diesel locomotives hauling freight on the main southern line in NSW Australia, with a particular emphasis on X class locos hauling the final Bomen oil train.

Interesting Trinity lash up of head power at 8:44,
2 EL's running back to back with an old Alco smack bang in the middle of them as mid ballast power..
What funky & Cool but effective combination.. Don't know why the EL Class gets a bad wrap thank to light weight traction motors, it's at least clear they've got some form of insaine motive power in them! Even moving heavy ass grain trains..
