The idea seemed good, but the end result was not what I expected. G2 and Kc were more concerned with winning than actually enjoying the game, as if beating a tired and jet-lagged team would give them extra points for next season, The only ones who seemed to understand what it was all about were Perkz and Jankos, who laughed in the post-match interview about "what they suffered" and admitted that T1 didn't play hard. T1 had taught them a lesson, not only in LoL but also in humility and respect for their opponents.
For people that don't know the details of this tournament: T1 is locked out of all champions that were picked in their matches Teams facing T1 have all champions available to them In this one day, T1 plays 4 teams before they play G2 (they won every match) meanwhile G2 only plays one (versus T1) It's literally a tournament to see if anyone can beat T1 lol
For people that dont onow the details of this tournament: - T1 played against teams not even in major leauge. Heretics, BIG , NNO Prime are NOT european LEC teams. - funny enough NNO Prime literally got last place in the german leauge. So you can figure how challanging these games were for T1. -T1 played 5 matches, you have to play 5 matches in a best of 5(BO5) series, Im not sure why would this be challanging for the world champion. -T1 was allowed to play the fck they want against G2.
G2 vs T1 was the highlight of the day. From a hype's perspective it makes sense to make it the last match. Also the whole point of the event was to make it unfair
@MrWhoareyou90 that's why they got handicaps + they played games back to back to back. It was a test of endurance for the world Champs. It's not supposed to be a World's level competition
WOW kudos to G2. Europe's so innovative with a winner recipe: 1. fly the champions from another continent in one day before the match; 2. Grind them with matches one by one to 4 teams in 8 hours before the final match. Grind and G2 Glory. One thing I have to say it's fair and productive blitz (German word nonetheless) that if Europe paid for this trip. Hope Europe teams can make it to exposures in later stages in S14! A balanced league is a healthy league - And T1 saved the league today in Red Bull undisputedly.
It's a show event no need to get mad at happy people. And yes beating the best team in the world is an accomplishment for EU. Assuming you're a T1 fan why not just feel honoured when people look up to your team so much they celebrate after winning one show match against them?
I'm Korean and I naturally tend to root for Korean teams, but I really hope to see either EU or NA come out on top in Worlds next year. A lot of their teams really do have it in them. With a little bit of polishing in terms of snowballing and perfecting teamfights, I really believe that they have a meaningful chance at the cup.
This comment has made me happy I find it impossible to root against faker, but I started watching pro coz of Caps. I just want then both in a final so they can beat everyone else then have the better team win Like you said, they have it, but EU NA teams teand to be extremely coinflip
Playing against 5 differed teams and with increasing difficulty really put a toll on them. Sure it's just a showmatch against underdog teams but playing different champs on the first 4 games will tire them out. Specially on the last match they are surely exhausted and G2 is on point too.
To be honest as an exhibition match, G2 and T1 should both do full BP restrictions, that would be much more fun and less serious. As an EU person its not even a remarkable win if we all "take it serious", I mean like those T1 dudes had already play 4 matches before G2...
@@dragonplayz6606 Is it even related ? Even though I agree with ur World Cup point but Man “never compare the holy World Cup with this Red Bull event plz~”here we’re talking about LOL, not making me lol😂

As a T1 fan, I want to tell other fans that it is just an exhibition match. Take it easy. And their welcoming ceremony itself had tell you guys who is the winner of the final match.
Don't tell me to take it easy buddy. Do you ever see inviting Messi, Nadal, Tom Brady, Lebron James to a event and set up a beating like this? Before I'm a T1 fan, as a man from western culture, this is shameful. Just because it is a exhibition, doesnt mean you can disrespect the great ones.
However i agree that the format needs to change next year, we don't want to see some comments like "begging for win" but want to see pro players competing for it and that's "sportmanship". No need for extra handicaps between pro level, just let us see the best out of each team.
Even for an exhibition match, i dont want to see PRO players giving handicaps to PRO players too. They do play professionally right? At least handicaps could be given if lets say they are against middle schoolers or non pro players.. But they belong to PRO teams and the handicaps are just 😬 They should just invite the whole LCK do the same to G2 😂
BRO the reason is if they do a serious event then there have to be a prize, and even with that, serious tournament suck the souls out of players. Do you think WORLDS champion like T1 want to spend their precious quality resting time to participate in another Serious event when they just literally won WORLDS ? Why do they have to prove anything else at the end of the season . If this event was not for fun , they would have not come for sure. Not to mention no amount of money prize is worth it for them to travel across the globe to participate in no name events . That why Red Bull has no prize today. If it has Prizes for top 1 then yeah T1 might have shown 50 % of their power
@@ryugaroxas Yeah, this is just a fun event. No prize money. But surely they paid T1 org for them to fly here. For T1, this is probably just a vacation in the EU. I mean just get over the matches, stay for a few days more and enjoy the place.
I think this tournament is a great example of the effects of playing for a long time straight. To preface, there has been a big debate about double elims at Worlds. However, the issue with this is simply that it is not fair to the team that wins the winner's bracket because they don't have a second chance in the finals. Meanwhile a team that lost earlier could just win finals and be champion even after losing a Bo5. To counter this issue, some recommend the winner of the losers bracket has to win 2 Bo5 in a row to be champion. While this technically is fair, having to potentially play 10 games is extremely exhausting. Which was shown very well today. Even though T1 only played 5 games, it was over 8 hours. In addition, these weren't even meaningful games. So imagine how tiring it will be to prep for a finals having to potentially play 10 games and be laser focused the entire time. So the point of this is, fatigue plays a big role in esports and should be taken into account in future events if they plan on having teams play more than 5 games in a day.
Double Elim is suppose to be played side by side as Dota has shown to eliminate the fatigue part from long hours of waiting and playing, Riot will never do that because then the stats becomes obvious
We all know T1 had played against all the other teams, we all know the restrictions, we all also know it was supposed to be fun and not too serious. Can you guys chill? G2 played very well regardless. Nice one G2, congrats.
the event recap : T1 ZEUS : im here to play ranged champ at top T1 ONER : you guys can carry these games ,im running it down for fun T1 KERIA : you guys just end thes games we are tired and jet lagged T1 GUMA & T1 FAKER : every time they saw their team trolling , they went for the super play and end the game 🤣🤣🤣 that was reallly fun
Well fun event for fans but man T1 players looked tired especially Keria and Oner. I already am not a fan of Redbulls business strategy and this didnt change anything. They are humans. They cant cope on 8 hours of stage games during their break month just by drinking Redbull if thats what they wanted to show Anyway respect to the few fans in comments not lowering T1 just because of their last game loss
they probably do eat backstage too . also Red bull must have paid a tons for inviting T1 so it's all worth it cause all players agree . And T1 also manage to pull out other weird picks against Pro team to test their limit . ALthough it does not mean shit now at end of the season
I get it how the western league is trying to stay relevant, but It's quite pathetic and disrespectful to setup a event like this. You're making lot of money just from inviting T1 to Germany and you exhaust them with minions and G2 beat em up? On top of that the comentators try to hype G2 up. It only proves how much western league fell, and all we have left is our pride. Not a pleasant event for me.
it really isnt that serious if T1 won against G2 im sure nobody would of complained. This is just a match for content and it makes sense to put g2 as the last match because its the most hype match. Im sure all players know this and its just you fans making a big deal of it
@@adonai4906not at all. Even if T1 won all games without a doubt this league needs a change. After game 2 I could already see T1 exhausted plus with all those handicaps on drafts. Like a cooking show sports league if you ask me. T1 was playing a safe card because the road to the airport had to be safe too. T1 also revealed to us that the champions they picked may have their Worlds23 Championship skins. Lastly, both Red Bull and SK got stonks.
if you look at the previous matches and how this tournament is set up then yea, T1 didn't take any shit for serious and were glad to at least do some sightseeing at Berlin, ain't no way T1 would give 100% after winning Worlds, they are on their break before Spring starts rn.
So many trolls in the comments section.. 😅 Guys, don't even bother responding to them. Getting all those replies are probably just making them happy because people are finally giving them the attention that they couldn't get in real life. 😆 Just be happy T1 agreed to do this kind of event despite their busy schedules. You can take this win (if you're a G2 fan) or loss (if you're a T1 fan) without putting unnecessary meaning on every little thing. Unless they face each other again on a bigger stage where both teams actually had enough time to strategize and all that stuff.. plus, bo5's are so much better. Edit* Imo it's always just the fans making things toxic. I'm sure all these players had fun, even T1 who didn't get much rest before this event.
As a T1 fan, a loss is a loss, we can just accept it. We lost 7 finals and every one of them was higher stake than this, so what? Every lost made T1 stronger so learn from it and bring home the biggest trophies next year.
What did they do? They managed to barely defeat a tired team that had played four matches in an entertaining event, despite being ahead. What a great achievement...
Yes exactly. And they looked so happy too. I'd be embarrassed. And look at T1 players when they were celebrsting, they looked like they just want to sleep. 🤣
The time difference between Korea and Germany is 8 hours. When it is 3 am in Korea, it is 7 pm in Germany. In other words, when it's evening in Germany, it's time to sleep in Korea. Considering the time difference, it's natural that t1 players are having a hard time.

so basically T1 after being exhausted thanks to red bull and their good format (irony) got finally beaten by a fresh G2 who didnt had to play before. I love T1. So let's get his straight. T1 tried in this game. They were excited to play against g2 (fake translator didn't translate well when faker said he was looking forward to playing g2). Thing is, I doubt they expected how difficult it was to be in an event for 8hrs playing on and off and cramming planning for pick bans in between games + jet lag + 15hr flight... but if t1 didnt take g2 seriously with those handicaps they would have been flattened in under 30mins.. i was just praying for a more than 20min match after seeing keria blink 5 times to focus his eyes on the screen lmao. g2 is a pro team that qualified for worlds. you could see how well they planned their ganks and team fights. t1 made a lot of mistakes on botlane. mid and top were close to matching cs throughout. g2 knew to treat guma like an ATM to get fed. on t1 side, the mistakes were easily attributed to the fact that keria and guma were practically caught on camera sleeping on their chairs before the game. But just watching the game fight by fight, t1 tried within the confines of what they could do with their states. g2 respected them and played properly. it was not equal but saying t1 didn't try is garbage. saying g2 is garbage and can only win if t1 was tired is unproven given they havent had a proper match. saying g2 is clearly better than t1 is also copium. saying 4 matches with fearless ban against 4 different teams with completely different play styles is as easy as solo q is deranged. what g2 did do is prove that they are a class above the other eu teams present there. congrats to g2 on the win! t1 not beating game 5 choker allegations yet but 4-1ing EU league aint a bad record either 😂 p.s. no i was not taking this seriously. i initially came here to comment memes about NRG being unofficial world champs and T1 game 5 curse with other lol fans not read people inhale copium and hopium trying to make this tournament into something that it isnt.

Teams facing T1 have all champions available to them
In this one day, T1 plays 4 teams before they play G2 (they won every match) meanwhile G2 only plays one (versus T1)
It's literally a tournament to see if anyone can beat T1 lol
What champs would t1 have preferred? All meta champs
@@Kostchei Rules dont apply to G2 match
Thats not true for this game, tho! For the G2-Game T1 was allowed to play everything again. That rule was for the format before.
For people that dont onow the details of this tournament:
- T1 played against teams not even in major leauge.

@MrWhoareyou90 that's why they got handicaps + they played games back to back to back. It was a test of endurance for the world Champs. It's not supposed to be a World's level competition
WOW kudos to G2. Europe's so innovative with a winner recipe:
1. fly the champions from another continent in one day before the match;
A balanced league is a healthy league - And T1 saved the league today in Red Bull undisputedly.
so did the g2 get the world skin ? or redbul skin ? im confused they look like just won something with one match but idk what that is
It's a show event no need to get mad at happy people.
This comment has made me happy
I find it impossible to root against faker, but I started watching pro coz of Caps. I just want then both in a final so they can beat everyone else then have the better team win
Like you said, they have it, but EU NA teams teand to be extremely coinflip
Playing against 5 differed teams and with increasing difficulty really put a toll on them. Sure it's just a showmatch against underdog teams but playing different champs on the first 4 games will tire them out. Specially on the last match they are surely exhausted and G2 is on point too.

But they belong to PRO teams and the handicaps are just 😬
They should just invite the whole LCK do the same to G2 😂
BRO the reason is if they do a serious event then there have to be a prize, and even with that, serious tournament suck the souls out of players. Do you think WORLDS champion like T1 want to spend their precious quality resting time to participate in another Serious event when they just literally won WORLDS ? Why do they have to prove anything else at the end of the season . If this event was not for fun , they would have not come for sure. Not to mention no amount of money prize is worth it for them to travel across the globe to participate in no name events . That why Red Bull has no prize today. If it has Prizes for top 1 then yeah T1 might have shown 50 % of their power
you can see at worlds or msi
it is such as Asia tour of EPL team or famous club
Redbull should take note. Just because you are an energy drink company doesn't mean that these players are inhuman. 🤪
if youre tired, just drink redbull duh

I appreciate T1 for doing this kind of tournament for the fans, but maybe they should not do this anymore. 8 straight hours on the stage, probably with jet lag as well. It's not good for the health of the player.
But just watching the game fight by fight, t1 tried within the confines of what they could do with their states. g2 respected them and played properly. it was not equal but saying t1 didn't try is garbage. saying g2 is garbage and can only win if t1 was tired is unproven given they havent had a proper match. saying g2 is clearly better than t1 is also copium. saying 4 matches with fearless ban against 4 different teams with completely different play styles is as easy as solo q is deranged. what g2 did do is prove that they are a class above the other eu teams present there. congrats to g2 on the win! t1 not beating game 5 choker allegations yet but 4-1ing EU league aint a bad record either 😂
