Wishing you many blessings and comforts Mr. Dunbar. Since our early twenties you have been helping my sister and I develop a deeper understanding of the faith, guiding us closer and closer to the blessed beauty. You are to us what Michael Jordan is to many others, thank you ☺️

"Cleanse yourself of all acquired knowledge..." this is the test, because our egos resist...you can't receive true guidance without true humility. Studying the Writings, meditating on them, and praying daily helps so much with getting to that state of humility. 💕

Mr Dunbar would like to correct an item in his talk with reference to “rid oneself of acquired knowledge” for having left out the words “obscuring dust of acquired knowledge”.
He asks his listeners indulgence for this lapse.
      He appreciates the related comments.

Negative thinking can indeed lead us astray from our spiritual path and reduce the intensity and quality of our faith. I speak from experience. Now I am drawing closer again to the divine, but recovering needs awareness and discipline.

I find it so curious that Bahaullah’s teachings is to bring about the Golden age and YET Bahaullah is also concerned about the One that will come after Him. So much mystery that we or at least I don’t understand

I found this talk rather interesting. I am not especially knowledgeable about the Bahai Faith. I would really appreciate knowing the relationship between them and Jesus Christ. From what Mr. Dunbar said, it seems as though Jesus is a back seat driver, so to speak, to Baha'u'llah. It also sounds like according to BF that Jesus isn't going to return in as significant of a capacity as the Bible says. Could someone please explain?

Báha'u'lláh means Glory of God, He is the Christ returned according to the Writings.

@@nyskestam-moolenaar683 Where in the writings does it say that Baha'u'llah is the return of Christ?
Does he actually fulfill the prophesies of the end times Shiloh Messiah spoken of in Genesis 49 who gathers the 12 tribes of Israel? How could he be of the tribe of Joseph if he is largely of Arabic/Persian ancestry that only has a portion of native Israelite lineage?
Does he open the book sealed with seven seals and reveal its contents? If so, where can we read about the paradigm-shifting information that he alone as the Christ can reveal?

Jason the following book is from an Anglican clergyman who became a Baha’i, hopefully it’s a beginning study to your questions on Christianity and its direct connection to the Baha’i Faith as all Faiths of the world are connected to each other.

@@jasonleroywharton Jason, your questions remind me of those asked by the Jews 2000 years ago when Christ first appeared. They tried to match up the prophecies of the old Testament with the presence of Jesus Christ and their interpretations seemed to fall short. It seems that the Jews at that time wanted a saviour to defeat the enemy, the Romans in particular and what did they get a humble sandal wearing son of a carpenter from Nazareth preaching peace and forgiveness of your enemies.
Others might well answer your questions of the lineage of Bahá’u’lláh but for me, a Bahá’i of nearly 40 years it is by His fruits that I believe Bahá’u’lláh is who He claims to be.
I also suggest a book Bahá’u’lláh and the New Era by John Esslemont. Also read what you can of Abdul Baha, Bahá’u’lláh’s eldest son who for Bahá’is is the exemplar of what it is to be a Bahá’i.

@14:00 yeah, but that is allegorical for heavens sake. When you "cleanse yourself of all acquired knowledge" that leaves a metaphorical mental vacuum. You will have to fill it immediately. The mind does not tolerate a vacuum. As soon as you ask a question your mind fills in the blank, even if it is a righteous, "I have no idea!"

@@JamshidRowshan Sorry, my Farsi isn't good enough for the more uncommon Arabic words. But it seems you might have meant "lecture", I'm assuming. Ghorban, why say if I ask you to choose love and compassion this is negative and a lecture? Your reaction to the world around you is in your hands. No one can compel you to act in any way. You should at least have compassion for yourself, aziz. You have no problem engaging on contentious matters, but when one person addresses the topic of love, peace, and compassion you cannot bear it? I believe in your higher nature; nearly any philosophy you ascribe to, it calls you to be at peace and show compassion! This is not a lecture, it's a conversation if you're willing to have it, ghorban. Don't flee something good and someone with kindness for you.

The recrudescence of religious intolerance, of racial animosity, and of patriotic arrogance; the increasing evidences of selfishness, of suspicion, of fear and of fraud; the spread of terrorism, of lawlessness, of drunkenness and of crime; the unquenchable thirst for, and the feverish pursuit after, earthly vanities, riches and pleasures; the weakening of family solidarity; the laxity in parental control; the lapse into luxurious indulgence; the irresponsible attitude towards marriage and the consequent rising tide of divorce; the degeneracy of art and music, the infection of literature, and the corruption of the press; the extension of the influence and activities of those "prophets of decadence" who advocate companionate marriage, who preach the philosophy of nudism, who call modesty an intellectual fiction, who refuse to regard the procreation of children as the sacred and primary purpose of marriage, who denounce religion as an opiate of the people, who would, if given free rein, lead back the human race to barbarism, chaos, and ultimate extinction -- these appear as the outstanding characteristics of a decadent society, a society that must either be reborn or perish. (Shoghi Effendi, March 11, 1936, The Unfoldment of World Civilization)
