Games hot garbage. Downloaded it, played 1 game, threw computer out the window due to how angry i was that it was bad. 0 out of 10. Items are lame, enemies are too strong or too way. Thank you NL for the exposure of this terrible game. Next time. Dont play a million episode review of it. 🤣

Message to NL: Don't skip the floor transitions! Other than that there are cool new animations, whenever you have the dream catcher item that you had last episode it shows you whats inside the item room and the boss that you'll be fighting so you can plan accordingly!

If it wasn’t for repentance he would’ve ended it already. I forgot which episode it was, but he said as much. He said he doesn’t see a point of putting it on hiatus for 2 months until repentance comes out since he’s done it for so long might as well finish out the 2 months. After which he said he’ll probably only play 6 months or so of repentance and end the series

@@jeezuhskriste5759 I've had my tears cap at 6 and I've gone passed 6 in another run. I don't know which of my items allowed that but that was my initial experience.

I'm actually proud of when NL actually tried out taking red bombs into another room. He's finally firing up the neurons.
Took him long enough
if you carry bomb detonator (the active item) they don't explode automatically, so you can carry them all over the level for free bombs in each room
Technology 2 no longer decreases Isaac's damage stat (the damage of the laser itself is unaffected by this change). Rate of fire is still halved as previously, but this reduction now also applies to tear replacements, such as Brimstone, Mom's Knife, etc.

@@MehYam2112 Yeh, I think this is going to be one of the weirdest parts of this, NL having to override years of automatic judgements when picking up items. Tiny Planets, Soymilk and Strange Attractor got buffed/changed as well for one.

Maybe I'm just rusty, but honestly Ed was not joking when he walked about how much more difficult they made the game. I'm getting slapped around again, and it feels so good to actually be challenged again.

Do you not feel like some of it is ridiculous though? There's damage you're accepting of then there's some of the cheap ways I've seen in the hours it's been out.
@@dave93x All the Antibirth stuff seems ridiculous in terms of difficulty just as it did when NL played the mod.
@@night4345 did Antibirth have steel chests that turn into spiked ones as you open it? What about some of the bonkers spike rooms I've seen so far? Not being a prick, I genuinely didn't watch much of the modded stuff because it felt so convoluted compared.
@@dave93x They aren't normal steel chests. There's a blood stain on them and a slightly darker gray where the spikes come out. You can also bait them by getting extremely close.
The spike rooms are REALLY well-designed and fun tbh.

Dear NL, please take all the old items you previously thought were bad. Even Edmund told you a lot of bad items have been buffed.
And conversely, many good items have been nerfed pretty hard

Maw of the Void/Athame are still amazing, they just don't completely top you up on full hp with black hearts. Pretty good rebalance.

Piercing shots actually push stuff.
Brim + Soy Milk doesn't just end your run now.
Keeper has been FIXED. Devil Deals cost money instead of coin hearts, rendering them extremely useful, compared to what was in AB+! (15c per heart cost; brim costs 30c) Keeper starts with 3 coin hearts as opposed to 2.
I killed antibirth's originally final boss on the FIRST TRY, ON HARD with apollyon! I just had ludo and death's touch only, proving the balance changes made it much more fair.
Why didn't he take the technology 2?

NL, the mirror room is needed for the knife pieces. Find a white flame on downpour 2 and touch it. Then go through the mirror once you're a ghost.
In practice nothing moves faster. My theory is that Northernlion was successfully accepted into the UA-cam Seniors Club and is now allowed to say sentences like "Everything is changing faster these days".
i agree the Larry Jr. did not move faster. However almost all enemies shot speed was increased for sure
All enemies’ shot speeds are increased on hard mode
They tweaked his and all worm things(I think?) animations, what makes them "look faster" is I guess just smoother animation at a higher frame rate or something.

repentance is the first time in quite some time that i've enjoyed playing isaac as much as i've enjoyed watching NL play it

I havent watch Northenlion for over two years but now taht Repentance was released, I find myself back here and I'm loving it.

Even in the US south Supper is used often. I feel a major difference is Supper is used in a family context when feeding children, and Dinner is slightly more formal. I've heard the same person scream "Suppers ready!" from across the house but then later say they have "Dinner plans with co-workers"
Excited to be watch Isaac again, it’s been a while
Downpour II contains Knife Piece 1, one of two pieces necessary to enter The Corpse.
Somewhere on the floor, there will be a room that contains a single mirror and no enemies. To obtain the knife piece, you must run into a white fire and become The Lost. Then, you can enter the mirror as if it were a regular door. The entire floor layout will be mirrored and the knife piece will replace the item in the Treasure room.
The mirror can be destroyed by explosions. Destroying the mirror while in the mirror world will make it inescapable and kill Isaac after a few seconds.
The boss fought in the mirror world drops an extra item.

Im quite pleased with myself that i figured out what to do with the mirror before NL.
In the US, from what I've gathered "Supper" is usually said in the south, but "Dinner" is usually said in northern areas, especially New England
There is a lot of stuff to talk about in this episode, like NL waiting for that enemy to throw all the skulls but not the tinted rock, the fantastic Duality jebait, the changes to Demon Judgement... but the dodge at 30:40 followed by NL's reaction takes the cake for me by far. Pog incarnate right there
From what I know, supper means the 'evening meal'. Dinner means the 'main meal' of the day, which is in the evening for most people, so it usually overwrites supper. So I think supper is always in the evening, while dinner can be at noon for example (then replacing 'Lunch').

You definitely don’t want Sharp Plug because it cannot be activated if you have 9 Volt. Unless they changed it in Repentance, it only works on empty active items and 9 Volt gives you a charge immediately.
Edit: I checked the wiki, it changed a _lot._ Now it can activate any time, taking half a heart per charge filled. So now it actually synergizes with 9 Volt, rather than being disabled by it. It also takes red hearts first, so there is a reason to take it with Revelations and other similar items now. It’s a more consistent Dark Bum.
Supper is the third meal of the day, dinner is the largest meal of the day.

Damn I haven’t watched an NL video in so long, I used to watch these back in my early bird classes in high school and now I’m doing online classes for the Marine Corps so I can pick up NCO and I felt instant nostalgia listening to NL and doing these classes 😭😭
The difference between Dinner and Supper is that Supper is the evening meal, whereas Dinner is the main meal of the day (the largest, usually). Functionally they have become synonymous for most people and the distinction is rarely used anyway.
