I bought the treadmill in February 2022. I love the subscription & all of the content. Being new to running, some of the cons that you pointed out (as a triathlete), does not apply to me. I really think that it’s unfortunate that there’s not a just walk feature, without using the peloton app. All-in-all, I love the classes and use my treadmill at least 5 times per week.
8:30 So now the structure for the newer content is clearly defined which I think is very helpful. Maybe they heard you! Great review. I love my tread and have had it about 4 months.
The changes came a bout a month or so after I published my review so I’m taking some credit for them :) Happy to hear you are happy with the tread. Thanks for watching!
Great review and I agree with all of your points. I have the Tread and love it. I only hope Peloton opens up the Android side of things so apps can be installed al la UA-cam for the days I don't want to 'take a class' and just zone out on a walk or run without being coached. Not to mention other 3rd party apps and ANT+/BT broadcast. C'mon Peloton, you'll sell many more units if you open things up. It is nice and compact also which was a big selling point for me since it is in my living room. Not to mention it looks great.
I believe they have an option to just walk/run without a class. If you cancel your membership you can still use the tread with this feature. It's similar to the "just ride" button on the bike.
I like my peloton and I did the subscription but is to expensive so I cancel. My question is can I put my peloton in my garage with high temperature or when it gets cool, please advise .would that affect anyway to my done like a little gym in my garage.
According to Peloton, The Peloton Tread can be safely operated in temperatures between 32°F and 104°F (0°C to 40°C). It should be stored in dry, indoor areas only, and can be stored between -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C). Hope that helps!
This is totally dependent on the evenness of your floor though - if this room is in an older wood frame home the floor cannot support the weight and impact without some shaking so your critique is pretty misinformed
@@scarlettchan2050 My critique is misinformed? lol There are other brands that would offer more and that are more solid that peloton. The old prius machine cost now almost 5k... garbage!
Great review. I have the bike and would get the treadmill if you could add apps like Netflix. I don’t do a lot of classes on the bike, I’ll pick “just ride” and I’m too short to see over the screen to see my tv while riding. It would be nice to have the option to add apps to the screen.
Great video. I do have the treadmill and I do recommend it. The subscription helps me to keep myself motivated to use it frequently otherwise I can get bored quickly. 😊
The subscription does help and provide a little variety for sure. Happy to hear you are enjoying the treadmill. Thank you for the feedback and watching 🙏🏼
We have the tread and the bike. I tell people if you can afford it, tread is worth it. If you can't buy a cheaper Nordictrack t series. The Peloton has auto incline that is a plus. Not folding and the screen shakes at times is a minus. A lot of health insurances will reimburse you for the membership. Happy we have them.
Good clear analysis. I do have the Tread and subscription. Agreed with you that they should have better descriptions of the class plan. More of an outdoor runner, I used to hate running on the treadmill but their classes kept me engaged so I don't really need to watch UA-cam or listen to my own music while on the Tread. However, I do wish they have more guided run content as they are well produced.
I agree. I hope they add more guided runs. I also did see they added more details to their classes this past week under class plan. Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
I really do wish they had better options for music selection. totally agree with you. took a 45 mins HIIT class and did not know one single song. so it honestly made me not feel as motivated during my workout. Started playing my own music from my phone to concentrate on my run today 😢
It shouldn’t be that hard to do to let you listen to the instructor voice only and play your own music playlist from Spotify or Apple Music. There might be some licensing issues with Apple and Spotify they might need to figure out but I wouldn’t think it would be that difficult since these apps are already available on Android and can be downloaded by users.
Thank you for the video - what is your opinion about sturdiness or vibration while running at 6 to 7 MPH? Is this a shaking loud nightmare or not? Thank you!
I have done intervals at 10+ mph and it held up very well. I have also done longer runs (around 90min) and the shaking never bothered me or even noticed it. My wife runs on it all the time and never noticed it either.
i have the Peloton App I use for spin, it's 12.99 per month - I do not have the Peloton bike, bought another brand. So I just stream it on a large screen TV I have in workout basement. Does the $44 per month subscription give you more classes or content? I don't care about leaderboard etc.
I have seen some runners say that motorized threadmills are not good compared to running outdoors, and that one should purchase a manual one. What is you take on this? Thanks.
Hi, I have a Woodway and Peloton Bike+. I use my Woodway for the Peloton tread workouts. What is the device you use to measure the incline and speed? I use my Apple Watch which usually measures the speed and pace but I noticed it’s a little off. That’s not a concern but I would love a device to measure my incline. I previously Googled for a device and I didn’t get any results. So happy your video came up on my UA-cam feed.
I know you found the device but posting here as well for others to see. It’s the NPE Runn device (use TARIQ101 for 10% off): store.npe-inc.com/?ref=tkDiztYkVvVw
Hi, thanks for the review on the tread! How durable would you say this treadmill feels compared to something you’d find in a commercial gym (life fitness, matrix, etc) also you mentioned that this was a great option for the $2500 range, do you think it’s still worth it with the new pricing of $3500? Thank you!
Commercial treadmills tend to be more stable and wider and can take a lot more beating. The price hike on the tread is huge but if I had to do it all over again, I would still get the Tread. It would be nice to have a wider running surface on the Tread but it’s not a deal breaker for me.
Max speed is 12.5mph and max incline is 12.5%. The belt and motor aren’t that noisy or nosier than any other treadmill I’ve been on. I would put it on the quieter end.
How do you use the tread without a subscription? I have the bike and tread. The tread does not work without a subscription. Please tell me. I am on a trial period and I want to keep it.
Without a subscription, you won’t be able to use any of the classes or content but you should be able to use the Just Run feature. So when your subscription expires, you should be able to unlock the treadmill, and tap on more runs at the bottom menu, and then just run.
Great review, although I'm amazed how much the thing shakes around, especially whilst your partner was running. For $3000 you would expect a more stable platform. Look forward to picking one up for 50% off soon I am sure, that's if Peloton continues to operate.
how do i use wireless headphones? i know the jack is behind the screen but the male end of my headphones are at 90 degrees. Does not make continuity when i try to plug it in. Do i need a straight male end?
Any Bluetooth headset should pair to the Peloton. You can find pairing instructions here support.onepeloton.com/hc/en-us/articles/203418965-Pairing-Bluetooth-Headphones
Do not buy a treadmill from Peloton. They won’t deliver it. I bought it and they no showed me mulitple times. No email, call or text. Local store said they couldn’t help me. Finally gave up and cancelled order. Crazy that I literally tried to buy one and they wouldn’t deliver it.
Thanks for the review. I'm torn between the Tread and another brand. Things that really appeal to me: 1) The interface just looks a whole lot better than the other brand and its subscription 2) Smaller footprint (6" less width, 13" less length). Yeah, the other folds, but seems like more of an eyesore 3) The knobs and center buttons for speed & incline adjustments. On the 5m walk on the other brand, I felt like I missed the buttons about 20% of the time. Things that concern me (and I'm hoping you might have input on) 1) As mentioned below - the monitor seems to shake quite a lot. You addressed that... no need here, but including it in my list :) 2) Deck Cushioning & feel; you touch on this during the review as it not being very forgiving. Another independent review ranks this as a "C-" as a letter grade for the Tread. As a - let's be honest - non-runner looking to move more, how big of a factor do you think this is in my decision? 3) The elephant in the room for me is, I'm not convinced Peloton will be around in 2-5 years.
On the monitor, it’s really a no issue at all. Didn’t notice it until I watch the video and you will not notice it while running. As for the deck… it’s more cushioned than sidewalks. I personally find it to be just right. Your last concern is a valid one. Hopefully they get it together. As someone who follows the at-home fitness segment, the market is tough on all of them and the likelihood of others to fail is just as high if not higher.
@@SmartBikeTrainers Yeah, I was first put off by the recent subscription fee hike, but then realized, there's nothing to suggest iFit, for example, wouldn't/couldn't follow suit in the next 6-12mo. In fact, the more I thought about it, the more I thought it likely to happen than not. "They" all raise rates eventually.... look at Netflix/Amazon/etc... or even airlines charging for checked bags. It just takes the one, then most others follow.
I have a peloton treadmill. I don’t use the subscription classes (my wife does), instead I also use the zwift runn for running and find it irritating that my iPad bounces when I put the iPad holder on the peloton screen. It’s like a type writer that every 5 minutes I have to move it from not falling down. It is very sturdy and clean. Any suggestions on what you use when running on zwift.
I looked around awhile ago for iPad holders and found what looked like a good one made for the Peloton on Etsy. Not sure if it will stop the bouncing around and hold it in place. Will have to try to find it. I personally use a TV connected to a PC to run Zwift so I have nothing on the peloton screen. You can use an Apple TV as a quick and much cheaper solution if you happen to have a tv in your workout room. I can see how annoying that would be with the iPad bouncing all over like that.
I just ordered my tread and am having difficulty finding a mat. Got a horse mat from Tractor Supply but the rubber smell is truly unbearable and woke me up at night after infesting the whole house!
I have the bigger Peleton Tread, which they don’t sell anymore. It’s a lot heavier, so the screen doesn’t move around when my wife and I run on it. We like it but don’t think the subscription is worth $50 a month !
Yes it does bounce since it’s connected to the treadmill frame itself. But it’s really not as bad as it looks in the video and you won’t even notice it when running.
I dont get why have such a big screen and not letting user to view their own content on that screen but you have to only use and see their programs. Dont like it

I think another issue is just how much movement the machine has with larger users, even with “average size” users, there is just so much movement!

They do have walking classes as well as run/walk type classes.
