björn pétursson was also called “Axlar-Björn” because he lived on a farm that is called Öxl and killed some of his victims with an axe . it is also thought that he killed 18 people and all his victims were travellers and farmhands looking for work.
also fun fact… both axlar-björn and his wife are my ancestors🧍🏻‍♀️🧍🏻‍♀️

@@kjoker3072 “The Backrooms is an urban legend and creepypasta that tells the tale of an endless maze of randomly generated office rooms. It is characterized by the smell of wet carpet, walls with a monochromatic tone of yellow, and buzzing fluorescent lights” (Wikipedia). To add to the Irish one! Britain not only didn't help the Irish during the famine but directly contributed to it by imposing laws and taking our other crop and livestock that we reared. It was a deliberate genocide. One million people died and another million emigrated but during the following years another two million people emigrated which halved the population which we still haven't recovered from. Its really interesting and heartbreaking to look into tbh

Malaysian here, yes the caning used as a punishment in prisons is absolutely brutal ( they do it on your bare skin ) but for schools it’s part of everyday life. Everyone I know has been caned at some point in their life either by parents or at school. It isn’t as bad as it sounds.

Lithuanian here. All these thing you mentioned applies mostly to older, soviet generation. It is pretty common for grandparents to have had physical violence between one another, and less so for a parent generation. Racism and homophobia also prevalent in those demographics, however, I'm pretty sure that most of people born after 1990 are not homophobic, racist or violent in any way. That photo you posted got memed really hard here and the person was humiliated online by younger generation

Great video! Small point. The Iraq war civilian death rate is at best estimate 5-600k. 200k was based on the amateur ‘Iraq Body Count’ website which had a discredited methodology. Some studies estimated civilian deaths as high as 1-1.5 million. None of these figures include Iraqi combatants and exact figures are not possible as the US military kept these stats secret, learning from the outrage resulting from the Vietnam War ‘body counts’

Fun fact: In mongolia around the 80's there was a popular Politician Зориг (zorig). He lead a evolution and was later ellected as the prime ministed after Elbegdorj Put his seat up for him.He wated the county to have equal rights because at the time the country was Socialist and he did change the country for the better in many ways.
He was assassinated in his appartment and robbed. (Stabbed 19 times in front of his then spouse)
People who were related to him claim that it was the ex-president who lead the county from 2009-2017 Элбэгдорж (Elbegdorj)
The case is still not solved after 24 years of his death and there are little to no evidence that anyone did this and 3 suspects were given jail time of 25 years

Norwegian, Anders Behring Breivik made a homemade bomb which he used to blow up the government quarter in the capital Oslo. It killed 8 people and gave life threatening injuries to 10. Afterwards, while everyone was preoccupied with what had just happened with the bomb, he sailed out to an island where a bunch of kids were having basically a “camp”. He was dressed in a policeman outfit and started shooting at the children, killing 69 people, the two youngest were 14. The island was pretty big, so when people heard about a guy shooting, they obviously ran at the “policeman” who then shot them as they got close. The police took a bit over an hour to get to the island which wasn’t all that far away from shore. Some people took their boats out to the island to pick up people who had jumped into the waters and attempted to swim away. 77 people died in total.
There’s a movie about this, I think it’s called July. 22nd or “angrepet på Utøya” in Norwegian and “the attack on Utøya” in English
