- Labor MP Diane Abbott has said she is frightened by the comments made allegedly by a major Tory donor. Frank Hester has apologised and both Labor and Liberal Democrats have called on the Conservatives to return his donations, which totalled £10 million last year.

The comments are reprehensible, racist and can mobilise people towards extremism. The Conservatives refusal to call out racism and Islamophobia actually contributes to tensions between Jewish communities and other minorities because people are left feeling antisemitism gets full priority over any other discrimination and is the only punishable offence
