I wish there were more musical theatre performers who could sing like her, a lot of MT performers get by with a shouty belt that is wobbling by age 30. But patti has incredible resonance and vibrato that I just adore!
@@JoannesVodkaStinger patti was a smoker?? 😮 damn I never would have guessed! For instance, you can really hear the smoking vocal damage damage in two of my other favourite singers, Judy and Liza. Also thanks for the channel in general, I’ve always loved live performances from my vocal favourite performers so this is great 😊
I don't know if she's still smoking, but she was still doing it as late as 2019 because there were photos of her smoking then. But she's managed to hang onto that voice, with the damage that must cause. It's every bit as strong, but just a bit deeper than when she was younger. I'm really glad you like the channel. Argentina is, of course, her calling card. But Meadowlark no less. It's been the great showstopper in every concert she's given for her whole career. Many never have a 'signature song'. She has two. For this reason, it's astonishing how few good, clear recordings there are of this....

I don't know how she's managed to hang onto that voice all these years - especially with being a smoker. She was truly given a gift of a voice.
