Awesome fishing hacks and I especially like the fly box! I fish for crappies too!!!
When I first saw the big quart jar with clear liquid I thought we was going to learn a hack for making MOONSHINE. LOL! I been doing the lure coloring this year too. FYI- I use the Spike -it Garlic. But in the pen form. I picked up a pack when the local Gander Mountain went out of business. They work great and they have the scent added in. Great video Boss. Keep them coming.
First time seeing lure wraps. Those will come in handy. Thanks for the ideas. Looking forward to seeing more videos.
Hey!
Thanks for following up on my request. That’s a smart and cheap solution and I really appreciate it!
That was awesome, thank you sir.
*I started making Black Zonkers* I got the next model down from your vice from Colorado and I've been tying to my heart's content. It works great. I'm trying to get ready for spring bass in the Northeast.
Again, thank you for the great info and for the great show.
I use old pill bottles to hold my baits. I cut a slot in the plastic top for the line.
Genius
I know it's a bit late, but if you want to paint styrofoam bobbers with aerosol paint, just get yourself some Mod Podge at the craft store. It's basically Elmer's white glue with a resin in it that will literally become a "shell" over the bobber when it dries and it will protect it from the solvents in the paint you want to use. You can even add color to the Mod Podge by mixing it with a little craft paint (Apple Barrel, Craftsmart or Folk Art brand). This makes it easier to tell if you miss a spot, since the Mod Podge dries clear.
5:39 that took me a second to get it. Perfect
My favorite fishing hack was taught to me by my grandfather. Always keep a couple of old spark plugs in your tackle box. When you get hung up, clip a spark plug on your line and drop it in the water. It will slide down the line and bump your hook, knocking it loose from the snag.
I just use a 2 oz sinker on a swivel.
Both are brilliant
I like the idea of buying all white jigs and a pack of sharpies to have any color I want. 👍
I like that too man , less inventory lol
Very
good
tips on DIY
Im so happy i found this channel seriously.
Thank you man I'm seriously doing at least half of the things ive seen on here
I'm glad you found it too lol . Thank you for watching Sir
@@FishinNStuffmy pleasure buddy thank you for the reply
Good stuff. I love it when tubers get right to the point. I will be using these hacks for sure.
Thank you brother
I'm definitely making some lure covers, great idea
Stumbled across your channel on accident. Couple videos later and you got yourself a new subscriber! Love the way your mind works! Found several tricks I needed already!
Thank you Sir I appreciate that
I just found this channel and have a hack that you may have already shown people but I’ll tell you what I do and you may find it interesting. Ever been on the lake and realized that you needed more fishing line on your reel and you know how awkward it is to fill the reel back up? To fill up a reel from a 1/4 lb spool of line, I take a peanut butter jar that is slightly bigger in diameter from the spool of line, then drill a very small hole in the side about in the middle of where this spool would sit in the jar, feed the line through the hole and you can then refill a reel without having the spool to unravel and get line everywhere. After filling, I use a short piece of tape to secure the end of the line to the outside of the jar making it easier to fill up the next time I need it. I even fill reels at home using this method. Grin.
I use a Husky box from Home Depot for a fly box. I know it’s not a dollar but it has a gasket so its water proof. I also use the same type box to store my broad heads. It also comes with a carabiner to hang it. I use that exact foam that we usually throw away at work.
I'll look at those when I go back too Homedepot I like nice stuff , but I show how you can do it cheap cause most ppl want cheap solutions, but its just about the idea . I can't believe I didn't think of of making my own box sooner lol
For the foam, use Mod Podge to completely coat the foam first before painting it. It is a trick we use in the table top gaming hobby.
Thank you 😊
😆 “At don’t melt!” Love it!!! Man I enjoy the heck out of your channel! You do an awesome job 👍🏻!
Thank you Sir . I'm working on a new one now
Really liked the pencil box jig holder
Thank you man , it turned out nice . First one I've ever made lol
I really like the fly box hack! That's awesome. Gonna have to try that one for sure!
It turned out really good 👍 I appreciate it brother
Bunch of great ideas Keith.
Thank you Mr Chavez
Always great hacks! I've been wondering about painting styrofoam for my planner boards. So if I find a spray paint I will let ya know!
You can find paint for foam at model airplane shops. Hobby shops carry a lot of colors
Thanks for the great DIYs. All are very handy.
Thank you brother I appreciate it
I liked that pencil box jig holder. Good stuff.
Thank you brother , I've bought several fly boxs for crappie fishing and i misplaced my last one and after the crappie jig video I was looking for it and thought of that lol
How does the glue hold up to heat? Like the summer months...does the glue come undone?
@@TheAssaultcraft I haven't had it that long I just thought of it because I was tying some crappie jigs a couple weeks ago and couldn't find my favorite box , depending on what type glue you use I should hold up good .
Great ideas as always, thanks for sharing! I also love to create my own stuff. One I will share is: a lot of people are using fiberglass tree support rods for push anchors for smaller boats. They are really hard to find now and are getting expensive, shipping is 3 times the cost of the rods. I bought some wood closet rods, 10' long X1.25" around, for about $6 each, at my local lumber company. You can coat with epoxy or polyurethane etc. to make them last longer, but for the price you can afford to replace yearly. I am making brackets for them to slide through, PVC lined. I hope this is helpful.
Fiberglass Tomato stacks work great , but they are seasonal so they are hard to find in the winter
The sharpie hack is one of the best yet
Thank you brother
Great stuff to work on during this lock down crazy stuff..
Really like that pencil/lure box build..now on my list of to do's
I like it too
Love the lure wrap!!!
Another great video. I will be making lure wraps. I made my son a duct tape wallet with pockets a few years back. I forgot all about it till now. Thanx!! Kutgw
1 lure wrap
2 sharpie coloring
3 jewelry tackle boxes
4 pencil jig box
5 painting foam bobbers
6 ???
Thank you brother , a duct tape wallet sounds awesome , I appreciate you watching brother
Lol I was wondering what the 6th hack was guess will never know 🤣😂🤣
I didnt break em up , I painted floats and wrapped some with shrink wrap I'm sorry lol
All good I was just confused. Lol. Love the vids. Keep it up 💯👍👍👍
I use pool noodles, cut to 5inches and split down one side for my crawler harnesses and leads!
That duck take comes from N.C. too!
Hey bloke u r 1 cool dude I really like watching ur hacks I always get a chuckle out of ur videos. A lot of ur things are really interesting & I like how u go into detail for us not so bright Buggars. I’ve watched a few now. Keep up the great footage from oz or Australia lol
Thank you Mate I appreciate that
Fingernail paint works great on those lures that are discolored and or chipped
I really enjoyed the duct tape lure wrap hack! 🤔 going have to try that, thanks for that! 👍🏻
Thank you brother , honestly I wish I would have knew that back years ago before I bought any lol
Fishin N Stuff that makes 2 of us 😊
Another great video ! Steve from NEWENGLAND
Great tips. Especially the pencil box aka jig/flie box. Keep safe brother. Looking forward to next diy video.
Thank you Sir , I look forward too seeing you again buddy
Incredible once again. Stay safe buddy!
Thank you Sir, I hope you and yours are all safe and good
Dip the float half way to the middle in an acrylic florecent orange, let it dry, one coat only. Dip the other white foam side into an acrylic florecent green up, to where the orange begins.
Great video bro , I love diy projects like these . I also enjoy making my own gear . Thank you for sharing.
I've got a good many of these , I appreciate you watching brother
I might have to look into those lure wraps. Not that I use lures, but it would make carrying my catfish rods from the car or to the car easier if I don't have to worry about getting a hook point in my hands while carrying them. I might try that sharpie trick on my super spook blanks too. Just to give them some color instead of being clear plastic.
I like lure wraps but they cost 6 or 7 bucks a piece . Those duct tape ones are pretty close for not much money
@@FishinNStuff Yeah, I ain't spending that on em either. I meant your DIY. And with plain old silver duck tape, cuz that's what I already have. lol I think it's a neat idea. You keep coming up with neat ideas. I wish I had that kind of inventiveness, ingenuity, whatever you wanna call it.
O M G jig holder that is soooo cool
Came across your channel last night. Love your content brother liked and subscribed!!!
Thank you Sir I appreciate it a lot
Love that rig wrap save lot money ones I got at Bass pro was 7 bucks each
More great DIY's. Thank you
Thank you Sir
You can try getting a craft glue called Mod Podge, it comes in gloss or matte and you can add paint or dye to color it and paint your floats with it. When it dries its hard as a rock.
My wife uses that ,,, I never thought of that . Good idea
Hey bud. Thanks for the video. One of your best🏆
Thank you
Just made 1 lol works great !!! Love this channel so much!!!
Someone said paint foam with acrylic paint.. A cheaper way? Make your own spray paint with food coloring, water, and a spray bottle.. use less or more food coloring depending on how dark you want your color.. You could also use Rit carpet dye, it’s cheap too..
Awesome DIYs. Keep them coming buddy.
Thank you Sir
I'm going to make the lure wrap to hold the sinkers on my cat rod. Awesome diy you are the man!!!
Great video as always buddy. Hope you and your family stay safe and healthy doing during this time. I wish you would make a video on making rod handle grips or wraps. I know you can come up with something that looks good and has some good grip. I need ideas LOL. Thanks you sir
You can paint styrofoam if you do long far away passes (multiple real lite coats), you want the paint almost dry before it even touches the foam. Its the evaporative agent that jacks up the foam not the paint 👍🇺🇸
I've done it but I still jack it up most the time haha I appreciate the tip buddy
Another great video, thank you!
Thank you brother and thanks for watching
Comment on your little tackle box - check out the hobby area of Wal Mart (they are cheaper than hobby stores) or the Hobby store itself for these type containers. They are cheaper than what you buy at sporting goods BUT they do not hold up well, they are far more fragile and plastic is thinner. Also check hardware 0 tool boxes make tackle boxes and they are cheaper, the regular pliers and cutters are cheaper as well. If you can find what you are looking for in areas other than sporting goods, you will save money. Always visit the Dollar Tree. True, they do not sell "fishing" stuff but you would be surprised what they sell that you can use, especially tools
Yep . I had all that on another hack video idid . I was just making a fly box because they are expensive . I never buy fish piers they are high
Thank you for sharing. Be safe
You too brother
Electric carving knives are great for cutting foam.
I like saving money 💰💰💰 thank you
Great Video Brother! Happy Fishing!
Thank you buddy you too and stay safe
mix elmers glue 50/50 with water paint styro let dry and you can use any kind of paint on it
Looking for IDEAS?????
Use craftsman versa stack
Or
Dewalt tstack
, specifically the ones with drawers. They’re compatible. U can buy a dolly or carry the handle. Buddy used em. I finally gave in. Never felt so organized ever.
Great ideas once again!
Thank you brother
Greetings from deep South Texas
Right back at ya brother
I just wanted to tell you about a great primer for styrofoam, it’s called “Minwax -Polycrylic”. I researched RC Airplanes that are made of styrofoam and this product works really great, won’t ruin foam of any kind, drys fast, it’s clear, available in flat, satin and gloss finish and it will seal the foam and primer it for whatever colors you want. Keep in mind, if you want to paint a light color onto a dark color, make sure to use a white primer over the Polycrylic, it makes the light color more bright and correct without any dark color showing through. So put 2 coats of Polycrylic, let dry over night to be safe that it’s dry enough, then paint with white primer and let dry thoroughly, then the color of your choice. Personally, I would coat it a couple of more times with Polycrylic after to give the paint more protection. You will have beautiful brand new floats. This would work on your plastic crankbaits too. Cheers
Use water based acrylic paint on styrofoam, and then clearcoat on top of that.
do a rod sleeve diy
I did a Hack. Video on em just for you.lol
Awesome!
Why not wrap the peg float with some of that green duct tape you used for the lure wraps?
You could do that I was just trying the shrink wrap. To see if it made stronger and ci was curious if the paint would melt it lol
I night fish a lot and people like to put the Bells on their poles and they're a pain in the ass and they make a too much noise. So iI take a Walmart glow stick and tape it to the tip of my poll doesn't make a sound and you can easily see it.. also when I was young and broke my dad had a big buckets full of old nuts and I would use those as sinkers didn't pay a dime for him..
Glow sticks work good too 👌
Take some pruners and make a y stick for catfishing for the ultimate rookies a place to put your Pole.. and if you're going to use catfish Bells put the Bells on the tip of the Y pole so you don't have to try to take it off when you get a hit..
Cool hacks!
Good video some nice little projects for people stuck at home. You say you have good luck with stripers on the bluegill lures?
We've caught some in the winter trolling em on our kayaks. They really look real . We've caught em on the ones that look like trout too
That is so cool buddy
Great tips!
insted of shrink wrap on the bobbers how bout that dip in rubber stuff ment for tool handles? that might work on styrafome
I tryed to make me some lure covers from tarp for 18 wheeler the plastic was tuff and not real thick but my Velcro didn't work out to good the heat made it come off was so mad. But your way I'm making me some I need them bad and can't afford 6 dollars each. Now I found me some from wish I think forget the cost but got 3 in pack for maybe 6 so 2 each not Shur. But I liked them. But love your hacks alot still the bank rod holders I love the most. But I'll deff try to do some of yours this summer if the world gets better and the virus goes away. But thanks bro. Sorry I've missed alot videos haven't felt to good but I'll catch up. Stay safe bro. God bless
You be safe too man , those lure wraps would be super nice if someone would see the velcro on for ya
If you have a sewing machine or someone with one, have them run a stitch around the velcro, it takes no time at all. I sewed mine after sticking them, and the glue isn't holding anything anymore, but the stitching is still holding.
@@TechwithKyler yea I have one nice but it won't work right the thread I think a piece is missing I've tryed to find a video on it but only one with the name not the same one. I used one alot growing up so figured single parent I'll get one for my daughter to learn. Well I failed didn't teach anything. Lol but yes I'm gonna when I get more material I'm gonna ask around maybe someone can help me and I'll give them the sewing machine. But hey thank you for the comment love getting nice help from people. Now if someone show me how to use this machine. Lol. God bless
Ref. #2. Does the marker withstand the application of scent spray etc?
I would say yes because like I said its hard to get it back off the shift plastic baits with alcohol , so I'd say it wouldn't hurt it but I haven't tried it
Ty and to ALL that contributed to this gr8 vid
to paint a float use finger nail polish
I got to make me some wraps.
They a lot cheaper than those store bought ones
damn good ideas
11:50 Does water vapour help you heat the shrink tube well?
Love them tips.....wait that didn't sound right lmao
Yeah it sound fine lol , thank you brother
Love me a good tip
To paint styrofoam use a water base paint
Them jig box’s is outrageous from bass pro shop or Cabela’s
You got that right man , they proud of themselves for making those things haha
Have you tried a water base paint on the styrofoam?
No but I'm sure it won't hurt it , do thru make water base spray paints ? 🤔
I have seen water base paint sprayed in a HVLP spray gun. We use water base paint at work and HVLP spray guns. I will try the water base paint at work on the styrofoam next week. I will let you know
@@FishinNStuff I sprayed some styrofoam with water base paint from work and it did not melt or disform its shape
Who makes the perch lures you showed during the lure wrap hack?
I'm pretty sure they were from China but they actually work good . I only say that because they were pretty cheap lol . I couldn't find em but these are very similar to em

@@FishinNStuff Fantastic! Thanks for the tip. I'm going to give them a try. All I need now is YOUR debit card, bank account number or any major credit card to finalize my purchase. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Just doing a little teasing with you. They look good. If I catch a big one on them I'll post a pick on your Face Book page. 👍
@@prestonward7533 hahaha that's funny 😄 . My wife caught a 8lb striper trolling one behind her Kayak
@@FishinNStuff Sweet! Nice having a wife that enjoys fishing with you. I love to see the ladies enjoy the out doors. 8 lbs is nice fish. She got me by a lb on my PB. She must be quite the fisher lady. And since your such a handsome dude I bet she is perdy too! 😉
What's the best hack for your fish measurement stick a way to store and out of the way
I'll have to think about that one
Can't u use a bottle cork shrinkwrapped yellow shrinkwrap
I don't see why not , you can even paint cork spray paint shouldn't bother it
On floats that you want to change colors would sharpie markers work like on plastic lures?
Probably
and 10hp motor included!
Can you do a video on how to make a rod sock for a fishing rod.
It's on. My video to do list buddy , I've already bought the material for it lol
Where can I buy one of the bluegill lures? Or what's the brand?

@@FishinNStuff who makes it??
www.amazon.com/dp/B07DKDVHKC/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_glt_fabc_P59QQE8ZN0SD2KMGN5QR?psc=1
Try using hot water to sink it instead of heat
Dang it man that's a great idea , thanks
WILL POLYURETHANE MELT STYROFOAM ?
I don't think so, but I tried the spray kind that come in a spray can and it did. But if you paint it on I'm pretty sure I've done it and it don't
@@FishinNStuff cool because i have a whole gallon i need to use up
I'd have thought the smell of the sharpies would deter the fish.
That's a possibility , but I got that idea from some pretty good fishermen . I haven't tested it fully
Pike fishing>bass fishing
I really like fishingstuff a lot of that stuff is helpful and educational
Thank you
