So Brandon's job is to make you look like you know what you're doing. Got it.👌😁 My first RC car was an Associated RC10 pan car run with a wedge body and a BIG piece of lexan on the side used for a sort of wing, more or less a very primitive sprint car. We ran on HARD packed Carolina red clay made into a banked oval using Ni Cads that would barely run the length of the races that were 4 minutes. Don't really know how slow we were running but we thought we were FLYING!! Our tracks were a LOT smaller than the one in this video. Man we had fun😁😁👍👍Now you can hardly find any kind of track here. Don't think my reflexes are good enough now but I could have rocked that track back in my day. Thanks to AMain and YOU for bringing back some most pleasant memories.😎👍👍
Nah, It got to be a battle to keep up. Going from stock to running fiberglass/carbon fiber chassis then to belt drive and direct drive, all the little upgrades that cost me way too much. I just sold out everything to the LHS and he put someone else right into running a fairly decent rig so I guess everyone came out OK. Then I went out and wasted my money on an '82 Honda V65 Magna. Look that up. Man that thing was scary fast.
On the stickers on the side showing the engine, it needs to have headers instead of open exhaust manifolds. It would look cleaner on the sides. That is a sweet body, and kit. Those cars stick to the dirt really well.
Like the c w outlaw, nice track at silver dollar raceway, I was just wondering if you could give me details on the tracks. I want to buld one in my backyard
Sure Jamie, what do you want to know? Our track guru Kevin Jelich builds the tracks with a Bobcat and a track crew. The dirt is special sifted soil they sourced locally. -Brett
You can use Google Earth (not maps) to measure the track yourself. Might not be down to the inch, but it will be helpful for sure. In Google Maps, find and use the measure tool for this.
I need to see if there's a story about Custom Works. When I raced off road in the early 90's I saw their ads for their dedicated (and expensive for the day) dirt oval kits. Pop back in to the hobby, recently, and see they're still around. Must not have been the niche market I thought it was.
I live in Oklahoma city and there is no dirt off road tracks anymore the only two off road tracks left are carpet. All the other tracks around here are dirt oval. Hell we hold the chilli bowl here.
Man, I'd love to but we tend to make videos about R/C's and racing we have access to, and no one around here is doing that. I'd love to check it out though. Do you have any good video recommendations? -Brett
The wing makes a huge difference. I pulled it off to try it wingless...just to see. Un driveable with the same setup. Couldn't even make it a few feet without spinning out. Not gimmicky. The cars respond to minor adjustments in a big way.

Yes you can. Not this particular car I believe, but many guys are taking SC trucks, like the Slash, and making dirt oval racers out of them. I believe they work good in the late model class. -Brett
Custom Works should be ashamed of this instruction manual. Inkjet printout instructions? Seriously! This video correctly states the body cutting and painting as being most difficult part. I can’t believe with a manual so lacking that there would be a decent build video of a how the 50 body pieces get cut and mounted.

1:00 wow he even put the google maps image AND a clip of racing at that track, top tier editing and camera skills, I love the pans and smooth editing
This is so sick! I wish that more kinds of rc racing was popular in my area, not just off road trucks and buggies.
What’s stopping you from opening your own track instead of waiting and wishing for someone else to do it?!
Awesome video! I absolutely love sprint cars and have went to see them in real life before too. I really am considering getting this now
They're a ton of fun!
Sprint cars are Hell of Fun 👍👍👍
I’m thinking about getting one of these, I’m a huge sprint car fan.
World of Outlaws will be out there this week 👍
Same!
Awesome rig .. I like the video ...Great as usual Brett...

I agree. I was having some headers 3d printed - that's why there's none.
I love sprint cars so this is sick
Sometimes I feel like I need Brandon too to help me record videos hahaha. Good thing I have a lot of nephews :D
I like making videos!
@@brandonaldred me too!
I saw your last video, looks like you have good help.
-Brett
Just bought a used one with confidence because of Amains dirt oval support with parts.
Super cool video and car 😎👍 Definitely another wish list item
We run slide jobs mostly for sprint. Some use hole shots
Heck more vidson this class please!!!
I'll see what I can do to convince Brett on this idea :)
Indy Rc world an Hobbytown Wild Bills here in the Dallas-Ft worth have dedicated Rc oval tracks.
That's awesome

@@AMain_Hobbies can you give me the length and the width

Loooooooong live the 5th scales!
These r awesome, I had a guy in the live hangouts that had one n was showing us about it
When my grandpa was around, his favorite races to watch was these midget cars
STEVO D 313 hell yes, dirt track racing is better than the nascar nonsense
@@STEVOD313 Chili bowl is awesome, so is watching the midgets at Belleville.
I see you in like every RC video
The RC track looks like a much nicer race surface than the big track. Silver Dollar is notoriously rough and full of ruts.

i want more straight away . mostly why i cant get into sprints , but im gonna get one anyway.

Interesting video, love the adjustments able to be made on the car. Hey do you know how they are able to keep the dust down on that track?
Water. As the sun went down, the track just held the moisture really well. Without the water it's pretty dusty.
That's my kind of full car racing
Nice!!! Mine too. Been around it my whole life.
@@brandonaldred Driving in circles?road Course racing is way better.
@@RC-ty5ym Everyone thinks it's just driving in circles... Harder than most realize. To each their own though. ua-cam.com/video/ayhtGHDqNY8/v-deo.html
Nice vid 👍
how can I get the vinyl decals Brandon has - they look really good
I made them. Do you have a scheme you like?
Try MCI Racing.
He has tons of decals and will make custom stuff as well.
High quality at reasonable prices.
Any decent wrap company can make them. Super simple
Why not talk about the Hpi Baja oval racing?

I see u let the boss win
HA! That would have been funny. Kendall was actually in the A Main, Brandon in the B.
-Brett
badass, the only way to make it even better is to run nitro, i never run nitro but the sound would be amazing
I know for sure I’m not the first guy to say that Brandon’s got Michael cera vibes. Lol (weird fact: my names Brandon too 😂)
Hey Brandon! I'll send this Brandon, he'll think it's funny.
-Brett
I really wish losi brought back the slider
So fun!
3:20 *lmao*
Lol.. those cars will probably turn faster lap times without the gimmicky wing.. also don't see positive camber on the front inner left wheel?!!

With cars that light going that fast, aerodynamics actually make a huge difference in rc racing.
“maybe let me drive it later lmao"
I wanna know what kind of battery he runs in his

Cool cause i want to build an oval racer
if its got a 7.5 or less brushless or brushed im watching.
it is a 7.5 :)
I have a R J Speed winged sprint car.

Takes me back to the old days. They still have midget racing anybody?
Some places do race midgets I'm told, but not at our track. If we had enough guys for a class, we would race them.
-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies i am talking about real cars, but thanks.
@@gwpattrick Oh yes. Midgets are pretty big. If you get one race to attend for midgets, Chili Bowl or Belleville would be the go-to's!

Oval racing is for people who aren't able to drive on normal road course
Don't knock it 'till you do it :) It's good at accommodating entry level drivers, but is hard to be fast and consistent.
Why dont you try and show us how to do it?

The most ugliest RC car that has ever seen in my life
One man's 'sick,' is another mans 'ugly.' Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
It must be because I'm a rc toruring car racer
✌🏻😎🏴 It looks a bit strange/funny. I’m not sure I like this one.
