On the note of getting beat up for watching anime in high school, I graduated in 2010 and when I was a junior, I was in the school musical cause I was a choir kid. My crush was also in the musical voluntarily (it was required of the choir students) and saw me playing Fire Red on my SP before rehearsal one day. When he asked me what I was playing, I was embarrassed to tell him because I thought I was too old to be playing Pokémon. Luckily, he turned out to be a big Pokémon nerd and we bonded over it. But that's what I thought I was dealing with for something as mainstream as POKÉMON. Y'all don't wanna hear about MY Vocaloid obsession, that came in college and I dragged my younger friend and brother into
Bullying is such a weird thing. I know it is way too prominent in both Japan and USA, but in argentina it's rare, because kids usually defend themselves and reply to every instance of being made fun of. Hell, in my classrooms i was always with people who like to make fun of others and prank them, we did so much stuff that would feel like bullying in USA but we left the nerds out because it wasn't as fun when they didn't reply, since we couldn't up our game and have fun being mean to each other. This is true for most of my generation, but thanks to globalism now kids are being bullied over stuff like anime. One thing that's never changed is how everyone looks down on gamers and anime as "childish" stuff even tho is so widely popular over here. People are weird. I wasn't lucky enough to drag anyoen into vocaloid, but i sure did find friends who are into it as much or more than me.
I now notice how lucky I was in highschool, I was part of a vocational class and I wasn't the only one that liked anime. I was a bit too much, everyone I met, knew I watched anime. My phone always had an anime wallpaper and I was also loud (still can be, sometimes), so is someone said something, I just yelled back at them. 😅 Edit: I'm 26 btw.
That's one of the many great things about Vocaloid though: It's technically not a genre itself, and is therefore also not limited to other genres nor languages nor themes! In a random playlist you can go from a song where she's singing about vegetable juice while going 'weee :D' to a song where she's growling and screaming about society while the drums and guitar in the background go crazy. I could give you some recommendations (as well as most vocaloid fans), but you can also just seaech for random playlists on YT and jump from song to song to see if something sticks with you. Again, there's lots of variety when it comes to Vocaloid!
One thing I learned about Miku concerts. SEATING POSITION!!!! If you are in the WRONG location. It will RUIN the experience. NOW were "NOT" to sit. Center about mid way up (Especially if the seats elevate the farther back you go). I'll tell you why if you don't know. Hatsune Miku is a Hologram show, ran by projection. If you are at the WRONG angle when ever she or the others go DIRECTLY in the center. All you will see is a Very Bright Light due to the angle of the Back Projection machine that is located in the back of the stage.
Hm, while I do like Hatsune Miko and would like to see her and her friends get some kind Adaptation. Personally, i prefer Black Rock Shooter. Say, how about Checking out Epithet Erased at some point?

I love Jaiden's videos 😊❤.
I loved her video and your reaction to it ❤
I wonder how many more followers Miku's getting on stream platforms (like Spotify) since Jaiden's video!
Tbh miku is already pretty iconic/big so
@@lolzu fair, but I'm sure they got a boost from folks like me who never listened but now are following!
Hopefully loads, we will adopt everyone eventually 🙏
@andybiz4273 I really recommend you find "miku" by anamanaguchi as a concert on here, so u can kinda get a jist of the hype her concerts get
I wouldn't be surprised if she listens to BTS as well. (Not a bad thing).
I don’t think she does, at least she hasn’t mentioned it. (I’m an army so I’d love if she was)
Nah if she likes good performances and vocals then EXO is the way.
Not that into vocaloid, im the rock guy thats head bangging constantly till my playlist plays nerdcore or pop music
I mean... Vocaloid music isn't limited to pop-y 'anime' genres, there's quite a lot of rock songs out there! Have you given them a try?
@Gelert_AT I haven't, I haven't really explored the genre to see if theres different types cause my tastes is everywhere
