Hi I just finished up making 1 from 3 broken ones and I think if you flush it out and make sure the clutch gear slides free it will work fine. Put synthetic 75W140 gear oil in it. Nobody serviced the gear boxes ever!
Ther was enough slop in the power feed handle that it woudln't fully engage. When I replaced the handle setscrew with a larger bolt and tightened it onto the shaft, 95% of the issues went away. It's still old and needs to be coaxed into gear fromt ime to time, but it works fine now.
@@Austinificationify no, I mean that the handle that engages the direction of feed on top of the unit. It is held to the shaft with a setscrew, which wasn't holding the handle rigidly to the shaft. I tapped it out to a larger size, and then put a bolt in to securely fasten the handle so there was no slop in the movement, which improved the action. I don't have that mill anymore but I do have the remains of that power feed if you need parts.
It appears the cam arm is loose. That may cause a bind and not allow the lock to mesh. The shoulder bolt is most likely bent as well.
