- Peacefully watching birds and other animals, without disturbing them is a pleasure for any nature lover. Powerful spotting scopes make this possible. In addition to their original purpose of observation, they also function as extremely powerful telephoto lenses. By connecting a digital camera or smartphone to the scope using an adapter, you can capture the beauty in front of you. This technique is called Digiscoping.
In this video ZEISS Ambassador Simon King will teach you his approach to Digiscoping. Simon King stands for passionate nature documentaries and his commitment for wildlife. Learn about the equipment he uses to capture outstanding images.
I have finally sussed out how to set up my DSLR for digi scoping.
Forget trying to get tack sharp images. Take photos at high speed (up to 1/000 sec) turn up the iso to about 4000
You probably won't see anything on preview, but you can bring it back in post processing.
You want to get a good adapter for the scope to attach your phone. It does work, don't give up! Novagrade makes a very easy to use adapter.
Absolute rubbish. Those pics and video are not taken through the scope.
He was so great in big cat diary, while doing double duty as narrator and cameraman
ZEISS nature How does zoom spotting scope image with phone image work. Will zooming 50x image of scope 4x with phone camera make the overall image shown on phone be 200x, 4 x 50? It sounds too good to be true.
I think you don't really want to magnify the image you get through your scrope too much, because then you're also magnifying any flaws in the image.
What phone Adapter is this?
Simon, you are a lovely man, we adore you. Problem….. some of us do not have vast sums of money. Bad form sir. Kind regards.
this work with binos ?
With such a scope you can use a potato and you will still get perfect images.
Very interesting. I am just curious how much does it cost for the mount?
Anyone can afford this scope. Only 5000 $ 😂😂😂
You make it look so easy, but is a real pain in the arse to try and set it up. I actually gave up on it, will have to try again.
Dang if i had hair, id have it pulled out.
The art of editing 😂
Totally agree! A pain to set up. I gave up too! It’s a $99 piece of crap!
What cellphone camera do you recommend for digiscoping? high res standard camera... or low res optical zoom?
For me I use iPhone 📲
Thanks for this, does the USM2 block out light to the same degree as this original design?
I have the Kowa TSN-99 Spottingscope with the TE-11WZ II 30-70 zoom eyepiece and the excellent TE-80XW 40x eyepiece, this Spottingscope is the very best you can get today ! I have used Spottingscopes since 1987 and I have tried a lot of different Spottingscopes through those years. The TSN-99 will be my laste Spottingscope. When I bought it I compared it very close to the Zeiss Victory Harpia 95, optically the two are very close, about the same, but to the Kowa is much easier to use.
If they make a binocular attachment like Swaro BTX, then maybe
I like universal digiscoping adapters. We’ll always be getting new phones, but we shouldn’t have to buy a brand new adapter just for the phone.
What is phone mount you are using? Please share the model number, I want to try it in my Gavia
Did you find any solution for gavia
Given this lovelyvideo was done 4 years ago, do you have a newer video?
Thanks for your wonderful video.
I do a good bit of digiscoping (enthusiastic amateur) its great to record videos, but shake and blurring on pictures is a wee bit of a nuisance. Is there any way i can stop that.
this is dumbest thing i have seen.
im sorry but it's waste of money.
noone wants to photograph without Autofocus,Stabilisation,Touch screen.etc
and wth is it's f-stop?seems to me that light have to travel a lot in these binoculars.
It's just so unpracticalt.
Who ever is lookin for cheap starter kit, there's way beter ways to do it.
yes they're compact cameras but useing em you will find out cons and pros between dslr's and phones.
For digiscoping it's called Swarovski
Are there go pro mounts?
