Nice clean tidy yard. Machinery top notch too. Well done! Easy to do things right as do them wrong.
George Hodgins well we try to keep it clean. Not always easy. ...... that’s very true.....
Telehandler looks well Gerry, your good to your machines 👌
Well if you don’t look after them they won’t last.
That's a fine spreader!
pearse mcaleese thanks Pearse. Yea she good yoke.
How many bags can she hold 3 or 4
U have some good lookin grassland there Gerry thought I saw a few patches o docks in the second field u went to, hopefully the rain give that fert a good kick start 👍💪💪
Robert Paterson yes grass doing well. Rain was wanted here. We missed lot rain that was got in other parts over the last month. few docks through that field. They will also need attention
Great video keep them up
good spreader gerry
charolais x thanks 👍
You did a great job opening bags
class185 thanks 🙏
Jaazzz lad I was in the kingdom to see mom and do a few jobs etc and we never got that rain hi....Firestones are looking the bizz Ger and will look forward to the duals at grass time.... oh ya BTW thank Christ the Possy grows to 16k at last!!!! Whoop Whoop!!!!!! Stay safe me man!
Maurice Cahill thanks M. Hope alls well. Silage time will come fast now. Delighted with new tyres. Great job. Yes 16k. Didn’t put up as many videos last few months and that stops the growth. Went from having over 1200 subs in January to 300 in April. Need to keep them rolling out 😂 keep in touch buddy 👍
It's a shame john deere stopped making agri loaders
Brendan Hough no doubt. Great machine
Nice bita kit 👌😃
J.Rice_Agri thanks 👍
gerry6420 no bother to ya Gerry
Horrible day there lad can see new tyres making steering very smooth what edit system you use lad
Patrick Oconnell yes steering feels great 👍
Nice video Gerry. Rain looks nice, everything is so nice and green. What type of fertilizer do you use. Okay you saw the weeds too, darn little buggers....😨👍👍👍👍👍
Neusa C it’s a nitrogen Fertiliser and also go slurry spread few week bk. So should grow fast now. The weeds are a pain but they can be killed.....I hope 😊
@@gerry6420 Thank you for the reply Gerry.
Just wondering how you find the controls on the amazone spreader, I was considering upgrading my old ZAM (2001) to a newer model with slightly more accurate spreading technology. Trouble is the thing has been so trouble free & reliable over the 11 years I’ve had it I’m nearly afraid to get rid of it🤷♂️🤔
Edward O Grady was same my self. Had our old za-m from 2004 until last year. Never missed a beat. I’m very happy with new machine. Their very easy to set up and use. Like all controls or computers. Once you get using it few times. U soon pick up what to do. I love anything amazone. You know what your getting when u buy.... reliability and built to last.
You should wash spreader after using it every time
Karl Morgan I do
Ok I don’t think that manure and steal or metal
Great vid
Is that a CarinaE I see in the yard Gerry?
Keelan Rowley yes it was indeed
Hi Gerry. Do you powerhose after each days use? Or how long would you leave it before cleaning? Do u oil just in Autumn when housing for winter?
Do u ever touch up paint?
I can tell he neva cleansit because ov the two types ov fret in the spreader...plus if its rainy put tractor n spreader in side wile opening the cover so NO rain drops get in side the hoper
@@valleyboy2099 Thanks for that. The colour can change with different batches of fertiliser. But he could have still got both fert at same time.
I'd say myself it most def does get cleaned, but just wondering how often
Bambinohead1 I wash it every time I use it unless I was going to was going to use it over the following day or so. If you don’t then they won’t last. I use hot washer. Our old spreader was actually better paint then this one. This one is 2012 and our old one was 2004. So I’m gona be doing some cosmic work on this one now over next few weeks. Greedy board need attention and Inside of it needs polishing too so the fertliser slides better on it. Few other bits as well. I’ll make a video of what I’m doing. Reason there was 2 types of feet in it was we had a ton of a different brand of CAN that I’d used the previous evening and was a little bit still in bottom of the spreader.
👍
Aidan Munnelly 👍
What fertiliser were you putting on there Gerry? I know you probably want to keep things general taking in consideration the wider audience, but farmer in me likes to know this detail, if u don't mind sharing! Do you put on less nitrogen on the hay fields than say for silage, or any difference? Tks.
Bambinohead1 yes no probs.
Put out 27% CAN w/ 6%sulphur
Putting on 2 bags per acre on hay (240kg per ha). It had got 3000 gallons of slurry already.
Works out less then on silage ground as it’s got longer to grow then silage and also if it is too heavy a crop, hay will rot in the bottom and it’s very hard to dry. Less feed Quality too when that happens.
Hi Gerry wat tractor did ye have before the 64 and the 69
Dj Mac bought 6930 in 2013, 6420s in 2004, 2850 in 1999, before it we had a 2130 and a David brown 990. That out tractor history. We come a long way the last few years in fairness.
gerry6420 ya there a good step up in horse power but the price of a new tractor would kill a farm my profile pic is 180 puma we bought it with 4000 hours cause the price is ridiculous for a new puma
Do u clean out the spreader after using it
Yes every time. We use it, then wash it. Unless was gona use it next day. It’s the life of them
great vid ans youse keep the yard in some order fair play
jack barron thanks jack
Do you spread much lime
James O Brien when needed. Some of our land would have natural limestone in it. But yea we get tested every few years and spread when needed
What tonne can that spreader hold
mark McHugh 3 ton full but that’s too much a 4 cylinder. Put Round 2 ton or just over in it.
How much a acre to rent in your area its atleast 250 to 350 here in the south east
nick Lad between 100 and 180€ a acre. Depending on land. Maize ground going 250-350 a acre. Spud ground 450-700 an acre.
@@gerry6420 wow be lucky get okay land for 180 down here .are spuds good feed all types of cattle cows etc or just finishing cattle?
Many tone the spreader hold
farming boss11 3 ton. Had 2.7 ton in it but it was too much for the 6420 to handle with out more weights on front.
Oh ryt we have a ford 7610 it can hold a ton no weights
