Really enjoy this format! Question: Will bitters and spirits such as the Absinthe loose aroma or flavour over time in a dasher bottle? Seems to me like they would be more exposed to air?
You can get little plastic caps for the dasher bottles. And a lot of dasher bottles comes with them. We use them so often that we don't really have a problem with evaporation.
4:38 that's actually Tarantino himself who is comlaining about being Mr Brown. Steve Buscami is given the name Mr. Pink which he in fact complains about later
I always watch the videos to the end . Your descriptions and history of each drink , your banter with Marius , your expertise are all amazing. Plus I screenshot all the recipe cards (or make my own if you don’t include them). Seriously, I have like 500 drink recipes in my phone and i can’t even drink , I am 16. I might need professional help.
love it! didnt realize it was vincenzo errico who also did the redhook. as per usual, thanks for the history lesson. and im thinking of trying Mr. Brown with liquor 43 instead of the vanilla syrup!
I use Montenegro instead of Averna in my Black Manhattan, as it was the amaro specified in the first recipe I saw for the drink, as well as 2 dashes of each bitters. Keep a pre-mixed bottle on hand at all times!
I think this might have been my favorite of your videos so far. I legit want to make all of these. Now I just gotta buy a couple of bottles... looking at you Averna and St. Germain. xo
Thanks to you I'm a bit poorer now as i just ordered some essentials for cocktail making. You brought me into a deeper world of cocktails besides Pina Colada and Sex On The Beach. I can't get enough of the part where you poure the cocktail in the glas! Keep on making those wonderful videos. And yes, I watch most of them till the end.
I am sure I am not the first one to say this, but.... Steve Buscemi was Mr. Pink.... Tarantino the famous director was Mr. Brown.... that aside, great drinks! :)
Leandro I adore stirred cocktails and these are all outstanding! I can't wait to make these again and enjoy!! Perfection!! 🙂I love the long videos!! Oh that spectacular Red Hook!! Hey your visit to Italy sounds amazing!! These are the best!! Thank you so much!!
Eeyore's Requiem ,Kanga Revered, and a Toronto with Maple Syrup... because it's Canadian. These are my three favourite stired cocktails - this month. There is Cynar 70 proof that is amazing and an ingredient in the Kanga Revered. It is a Patrerson House cocktail - in Nashville.
Watched it again. More interesting the second time thinking about the flavor combos. Hope I can find some minis of the things I don’t have to try before buying a huge bottle. Again great variety here. EDIT, made the Division Bell ('cuz I had some absinth and Grande Marnier. Use a grapefruit garnish (no orange) Hendrick's gin, Blanc Dolin (out of the dry). A very RICH cocktail. A great alternative to a Medium Martini, richer, orange notes and the herbs of the absinth are a subtle improvement. Nice KEEPER addition to the Martini resume! THANK YOU!!
Isle of man uk Islands here..Sending you a big o'l "Hey Boy"......(traditional Manx greeting), Always watch till the end as you just have a great way of making my cocktail journey of discovery not only interesting but tasty as well!.....Thanks' for the upload i'll bee trying a couple of these as well as the flavour profile looks like it might fit my pallet. Keep em coming! :O)
I do watch your full videos, as always! You guys were my inspiration in just pre-covid times, being 2020 the year I've watched all of them, and even live ones! Keep it up
Great video, definitely prefer stirred cocktails to citrus-heavy shaken drinks. 2 questions: any other coffee liqueurs you can use for the Mr. Brown? Kahluha? Haven't seen the one you used locally. Also, I saw you used Plymouth gin on the Elder Fashioned but a London Dry on the Joy Division. Are these interchangeable? If I had a bottle of Botanist gin, which would it most closely substitute for? Thanks!
The Red Hook is definitely my favorite of all the hipster-doofus Manhattan variants. Punt e Mes was a delightful new ingredient for me to discover and Maraschino just makes everything a little better.
I would have to say that the majority of drinks I make at home, when it's just me and the hubby, would be stirred down. I like having a boozy sipper with that glorious mouthfeel 😁 And I always hang around until the end for the 'Pro Tip'... You know... When there is one 😂😛
Leandro, I'm curious on the gin old fashioned you created, do you have a video about it by any chance? If not, I'm interested in knowing the recipe for it. Thanks, love the videos! Keep them stirred cocktails coming.
Nice cocktails from a "Mr. Orange". We took those nic.names the same time the movie came. And uses then on rc-cars as diriver names. The one with cointreu will be stired as soon as I can. -Regards from Sweden 🇸🇪🍸
One of my favorite after dinner / nightcap drinks is a little St Germain on ice with 2-3 dashes of orange bitters, and I also prefer Gin, so the Elder Fashioned sounds right up my alley.
the Black Manhattan and Red Hook are both a delight my favourite Manhattan variation though is a Longshoreman, kind of a hybrid between the other drinks mentioned
Just made the joy division. I'm not a huge martini fan, but this one is quite an interesting one. Although I grabbed the wrong gin. Will have to remake it with a proper one.
Hey 👋 do you have any recommendations for a good citrus peeler? The ones you use seem very decent and sharp; my peeler struggles to cut and I end up wrestling all of the oils out of the peel during a jagged gnarly cut 😂
Hey, I watch all your videos all the way through, regardless if the cocktails are stirred or shaken. Keep 'em, comin'! Keep up the great work!
Ditto
Yeah he does a great job
I always watch your videos to the end! You are one of my Mr Miagi of cocktail making!
I prefer stirred cocktails, they are often so much simpler and don't rely on my lazy ass going out to get fresh citrus
Really enjoy this format! Question: Will bitters and spirits such as the Absinthe loose aroma or flavour over time in a dasher bottle? Seems to me like they would be more exposed to air?
Maybe a tiny little bit of alcohol will evaporate, but hardly enough to matter. If you’re really concerned, some dasher bottles come with little caps.
You can get little plastic caps for the dasher bottles. And a lot of dasher bottles comes with them. We use them so often that we don't really have a problem with evaporation.
Steve Buscemi was Mr. Pink, Quinten Tarantino was Mr. Brown.
The clip they showed of the movie explained the honest mistake perfectly fine already.
Why was Buscemi Mr Pink?
@@GeoffreyScott571 well, I think the answer to that violates youtubes tos.
Who was Bruce Willis
@@GeoffreyScott571BECAUSE HE'S A... yeah, we can't yell that any more.
4:38 that's actually Tarantino himself who is comlaining about being Mr Brown. Steve Buscami is given the name Mr. Pink which he in fact complains about later
Thank you! I was like I'm pretty sure that's not right....
Of course people watch all the way through. We are thirsty for more knowledge of great mixed drinks.
Stirred cocktails are my jam.
Need to make more stirred cocktails, most of mine are shaken or layered. Hope to get into making smooth stirred drinks!
No, the video was not too long. These recipes look great, I’m going to try a few this weekend. Thanks.
I watch a decent number of them all the way through. The stirred ones specifically however.....almost always all the way through!
I love the long vids, and especially the stirred drinks! The depth, layering, and texture of the stirred ones just can’t be beat. Keep ‘em coming!
Totally agree. I rarely drink shaken cocktails.
love it! didnt realize it was vincenzo errico who also did the redhook. as per usual, thanks for the history lesson.
and im thinking of trying Mr. Brown with liquor 43 instead of the vanilla syrup!
👇🏻 If you stick around to watch the video
Mr. Stirred? That's too close to Mr. Turd
Black Manhattan is my go to nightcap, but I’ll definitely be trying a Mr. Brown this evening! Thanks for the inspiration as always!
Definitely love the long format. It gives you more time to decide what to make next 😊 thank you so much for everything you’ve done ! Love from Paris.
Love stirred cocktails. No issue with the length.
I use Montenegro instead of Averna in my Black Manhattan, as it was the amaro specified in the first recipe I saw for the drink, as well as 2 dashes of each bitters. Keep a pre-mixed bottle on hand at all times!
Thanks for these! As a home cocktail hobbyist I enjoy finding new recipes to try as I build my bar. Can’t wait to give these a try!
The black manhattan is one of my all time favorite cocktails across spirits.
Steve Buchemi played Mr. Pink. Quentin Tarentino played Mr. Brown.
I think this might have been my favorite of your videos so far. I legit want to make all of these. Now I just gotta buy a couple of bottles... looking at you Averna and St. Germain. xo
Leandro, we need a video of your Gin Old Fashioned creation! Always looking for variations to play around with.
The Tarantino character was Mr. Brown, Steve Buscemi’s was Mr. Pink :) #annoyingyoutubecomments
Hold up, Buscemi was Mr Pink, Tarantino was Mr Brown. Great video, been loving the first two since grabbing the Modern Classic Cocktail book.
Stirred are the best IMO!!
I watch the whole video and let it play the next, also I need my bar to carry more of this stuff so I can make these drinks. Great content as always.
I am sure I am not the first one to say this, but.... Steve Buscemi was Mr. Pink.... Tarantino the famous director was Mr. Brown.... that aside, great drinks! :)
Great video. I love stirred cocktails, preferably whisk(e)y as the base spirit, but Gin, Rum, Mezcal...also delicious.
I'm less intimidated by stirred cocktails, I'm always worried about the tins coming apart when shaking 😅
Eeyore's Requiem ,Kanga Revered, and a Toronto with Maple Syrup... because it's Canadian.
These are my three favourite stired cocktails - this month.
There is Cynar 70 proof that is amazing and an ingredient in the Kanga Revered.

Just mixed up the Mr. Brown....delicious!! Perfect way to end the week.

Dude, I'm making a Black Manhattan tonight! And a Joy DIvision tomorrow!
The Red Hook is definitely my favorite of all the hipster-doofus Manhattan variants. Punt e Mes was a delightful new ingredient for me to discover and Maraschino just makes everything a little better.
I'm not usually big on gin, but Joy Division piques my interest.
Spirit forward cocktails are harder to execute well than shaken ones, imo.
Hey! Always to the end!
I’ve got to try that Joy Division. It seems like the perfect drink for me! I’d also like to try Mr. Brown.
I would have to say that the majority of drinks I make at home, when it's just me and the hubby, would be stirred down. I like having a boozy sipper with that glorious mouthfeel 😁
And I always hang around until the end for the 'Pro Tip'... You know... When there is one 😂😛
Wdym! I always watch your videos till the end. So excited to go make a Joy Division right now. Thanks for the always great content
Leandro, I'm curious on the gin old fashioned you created, do you have a video about it by any chance? If not, I'm interested in knowing the recipe for it. Thanks, love the videos! Keep them stirred cocktails coming.
Excellent presentation! I’m going to make a Joy Division tonight.
Cheers
I prefer boozy stirred cocktails over shaken cocktails. Thanks for the great recipes.
I love the Elderfashioned! I've made it a number of times and it's always a delight! Quite an excellent twist on an old fashioned. Great video guys!
Loved the entire video, and Joy Division will be made this week. Keep up the great video production and information.
I also enjoy a gin old fashioned. Try one with lemon syrup and orange bitters, sometime. It's delightful.
Nice cocktails from a "Mr. Orange". We took those nic.names the same time the movie came. And uses then on rc-cars as diriver names. The one with cointreu will be stired as soon as I can.

Orinoco bitters in place of angostura in the Black Manhattan gives it just a *bit* of a boost. Plays off the Averna very well.
Thank you for making this video. I enjoy myself a stirred drink over shaken. The complexity of them stands out so much more. I enjoyed this video
One of my favorite after dinner / nightcap drinks is a little St Germain on ice with 2-3 dashes of orange bitters, and I also prefer Gin, so the Elder Fashioned sounds right up my alley.
Yep, Joy Division is great. Having one right now. I've always been a fan of stirred drinks. Thanks for the tip
At least this person watched (or listened, really) all the way through. I prefer stirred cocktails, so you're preaching to the converted.
That Mr. Brown sounds amazing. I need to get some vanilla syrup to try it this weekend.
the Black Manhattan and Red Hook are both a delight
my favourite Manhattan variation though is a Longshoreman, kind of a hybrid between the other drinks mentioned
For a few months Hobart's Evolve bar (Tasmania) served the Green Hook - basically a Red Hook with a spike of Laphroaig. Takes it to another level.
Just made the joy division. I'm not a huge martini fan, but this one is quite an interesting one. Although I grabbed the wrong gin. Will have to remake it with a proper one.
Whoa... coffee cocktail and no Mr Black ad?! Is such a thing even possible?! lol
I gotta ask, what does everyone recommend for absinthe? I tried a couple bottles a few years back and was very underwhelmed
I find you videos entertaining and informative. I always watch to the end, but sometimes I stop to do other things.
You made some really interesting cocktails in this video.
Besides stirred cocktails saves me some ice compared to shaken cocktails.
@theeducatedbarfly 5:50 theads up, that's not Phil ward
I thought it was a nice video. I really like strong drinks.
I prefer stirred cocktails most of the time. Thanks for doing this video. Doing the gin old fashioned tonight.
Love the fact those recipes call for more or less staples in my bar. Cant wait for the sunset!
I usually drink a stired cocktail at the end of the night cause my girlfriend is allready sleeping and I don't want to do a loud shake :D :D
Dude, of course we drain your vids all the way down to the final dregs. If anyone ever ducked out early, that would be madness!
Mr. Brown is so delicious thanks for sharing. Will be revisiting to make the others when I have the ingredients
I am very excited to try the Red Hook. I have been looking for something to do with the Punt e Mes for a while.
You got me at Joy Division one of my favorite band and I suppose my favorite soon to be drink. Thanks
I most deffo would watch any vid all the way through dude keep it up your vids are amazing
you inspired me to learn more about cocktails and i’m even attending a cocktail diploma course soon! thank you!! 🙏🏻
Made myself a gin old fashioned for the first time last night. It was delicious I almost prefer it to a whiskey old fashioned
For the Black Manhattan, it HAS to be Averna. It is by far the best amaro for this drink.
Been making Red hook at home for a while hands down my favourite Manhattan variant ❤️ love the video as always
Did I miss a video, Leandro? What gin old fashioned recipe did you create?
I'm still around!!! Appreciate the content sir.
End Credits Club here! Though you don't have end credits.
Nice! I am a big fan of stirred drinks, and appreciate the reminder to try that Black Manhattan!
Stayed to the end, those were banger recipes. Thank you so much. 🥃
Buscemi is Mr Pink! Tarantino was Mr Brown, too close to Mr Shit
Hey 👋 do you have any recommendations for a good citrus peeler? The ones you use seem very decent and sharp; my peeler struggles to cut and I end up wrestling all of the oils out of the peel during a jagged gnarly cut 😂
Great video! Just added the joy division and elder fashioned to my list of drinks to try on my next visit to a bar!
Stirred cocktails are awesome, however bitters and absinthe is hard to come by
this guy needs to stop the ice cracking, i dont know what he does, if hes an actual bartender but i would fire him on the spot
Great Cocktails. Many of those are in regular rotation at my home bar.
Any chance of a stirred tiki episode in the distant future? Sounds like a wild idea!
It's a fun time, my lament is the videos become unsearchable due to the titles.
WTF doesn't stay until the end at least the first time!?! Weirdos.
Enjoyed all of them, will be trying several soon
I did see your video all the way to the end.
Salud!
Cheers my friend +
I always watch to the end. You do the most interesting ones at the end.
I like the side by side transitions in the video, looks great!
What is your recipe for gin old fashioned ? You mention one in the video.
Staying all the way? I'll be your huckleberry
