How to make a Jack O'Lantern - A detailed step by step How To Carve a Pumpkin - Halloween guide

  • This guide shows you all the steps and stages how I prepare a pumpkin. This video goes into detail at each stage from hollowing it out through to carving and then turning the pumpkin into a Jack O'Lantern. I hope this demonstrates how quick and easy it is and encourages more people to make them.
    In this example I show you a traditional candle lit version. I also light Pumpkins with LED lights as well as Glow Sticks when safety is paramount. Enjoy!

    Thank you so much! I'm seventeen and I'm from Chile so I've never carved a jack-o'-lantern before, but since today it's Halloween i decided to give it a try!

    The traditions as you are, at least in the personal seem to me important more than anything to preserve them and continue with such beautiful traditions from generation to generation, something that little by little we let pass and our elders do not take into account, but we can change and re-instill you through this knowledge

    Awesome DIY Video. I'm looking at doing a Jack-O-Lantern tomorrow. I live in Australia and never carved a Jack-O-Lantern before so this will be my first time trying it. I just hope I can do a good job on it.

    Open the pumpkin on the bottom. Much easier.

    • @TomStrong
      @TomStrong  7 років тому +1

      Thats is a good tip for people who will place them on a large plate or tray etc.
      (Pumpkin juice and the flesh will drain out the bottom opening somewhat)

    Can i ask what kind of pumpkins they are?

    • @TomStrong
      @TomStrong  9 років тому

      Evi van Schie Sorry - I do not know for sure... (I never asked the seller) I know this is an edible type. (Made a yummy soup out of all the bits cut out from the eyes and mouth etc) It is not the 'BIGGEST' type as these are rarely much bigger than I show in this video.

      You are right. But You can dry and then roast and eat the seeds. If you are making a couple at a time, all the off cuts might be enough to make pumpkin soup…
      ..and, you can throw the spent pumpkin in woods / forests as deers and other wild animals will eat the disposed pumpkin. (remove candles etc)
