    Sarah, I can honestly say that you have never made a boring video. Part of why so many people watch you is your obsessiveness with getting things done correctly. And your version of correctly means as period spec as possible, your attention to detail is fantastic, and people appreciate that for itself. The fact that you just don't let the little things go. Whether it's cleaning an area of a vehicle that no one but you will ever see once it's all put back together, going through electrical systems wire by wire, and even when you're talking out loud to yourself so we get insight into your thought processes. It's all of the above things that you do that make us die hard fans of yours keep coming back.

    Sarah, I am of the opinion that most of us viewers watch your videos to see how you tackle the small details. People say “Don’t sweat the small stuff”, but if one wants to do a proper ‘restomod’ one has to sweat the small stuff. You are consistently showing the work that goes into doing the job properly by sweating the small stuff. I thank you for that.

    Helpful hint: when you're slicing out a square (like your notches), drill a {whatever diameter} hole for the corners - then cut into them.
    Nicer appearance, and no stress risers in the corner which can crack later.

    • @michaelblacktree
      @michaelblacktree 4 місяці тому +5

      I was going to make a similar comment. If you drill the corner holes big enough, you can drop your jigsaw / air saw blade in there, for some really neat cuts.

    Kudos to you for staying motivated and knocking out all the little stuff. A lot of builders will cobble stuff together to get it running, to hear the exhaust note etc because it helps them stay motivated, otherwise the mundane little tasks like endless wiring, weatherstrip, lights etc just wears them down and hey become disinterested and often a project can get sidelined for a period of time due to this.

    Sarah, when you combine audio channels, you should use a resistor network, unless the head unit has a resistor network, or equivalent built into the unit. Mono from two independent speaker outputs can blow up the output driver on your radio. Some manufacturers suggest using the two positives to sum mono. There are some manufacturers that make dual voice coil loudspeakers that allow each discrete speaker channel to connect to its own voice coil.

    • @davidgustafson4563
      @davidgustafson4563 4 місяці тому +1

      This. Definitely need to confirm this head unit can be used this way. You could end up destroying the output amp stages.

    • @4jack8mama
      @4jack8mama 3 місяці тому

      I'm also concerned about wiring 3 speakers in parallel to two output channels. I'm not sure there's an easy option to do it properly. Ideally, I would run a separate amplifier in bridged mode to get left and right signals safely into one speaker.
      Dual voice coils should not have different signals driving them. The voicecoils are mechanically coupled together, so varying electrical drive signals would end up interfering with each other.

    Hey Sarah, coming along nicely I’m not surprised the radio performs like it does vintage equipment, solid-state and tube equipment for home Audio is extremely robust. as far as the dust cover on the speaker, I’ve had luck with the vacuum cleaner, but realistically they’re never quite the same aesthetically, sonically it should be ok depending. your legs are more than nice, almost to the point of distraction, but I remain laser focused on the project at hand.🙂🐧🐧🐧👍

    Scalvage is a hybrid word of salvage and scout out… that’s what you meant. 💯

    Your videos are such a refreshing change from other car channels! I love that you stick to your values of real-world builds and super clean, detail oriented OEM-style installs that stay true to what the vehicle is. Anyone can LS swap something, lots of car channels aren’t showing all the work, or they’re super bro-y, or they’re just plugging sponsors the whole time. You’re killing it, keep it up!

    Watching this from Australia it's nice how Americans can order something and have it by the next day. There are upsides to having 320 million people compared to 28 million 😀
