    I loved Lead Balloon, even if I did cringe a bit at the situations Jack Dee's character got into through his almost complete lack of morale character and lying. Clearly others didn't agree with it being dreadful either, as it ran for three series and got, for the time, relatively high ratings. It was also nominated for a British comedy award in 2007.

    Catterick is one of the best sitcoms over. I know that’s a bold claim, but when you think of the sheer volume of how many sitcoms are made, it hits the top few percent. It was brilliantly done. It’s a shame reeves and Mortimer didn’t revisit the format.

    Catterick was brill. It had musical interludes where characters would mime to songs, and I remember BBC3 would repeat those specific bits throughout an evening, not to mention repeating the full episodes several times a week...guess they had trouble filling a schedule in those early days. It sends a shiver down my spine to think someone in a position of power actually thought Davina McCall could be funny in any way shape or form.

    Some ideas for sitcoms from the 2000s for later videos:
    * Beast
    * Celeb
    * Mr. Charity
    * Fear, Stress, and Anger
    * The Life and Times of Vivenne Vyle

      Oh wow! Celeb with Harry Enfield playing an ageing rock star and his wife played by Amanda Holden. Yes!
      The Mr. Charity one sounds vaguely familiar too. 🤔

    I remember watching Orrible, I thought it wasn't too bad but I was a stone head at the time. I've never seeked it out to re-watch since.
    I've heard of Lead Balloon but never seen it.
    I watched Catterick, I did buy the Dvd a few years ago. I like the characters played by Vic, especially the one I think is called, Chris. "I know"
    Never heard of any of the others and none look appealing.

    What about Pay & Display, a short lived sitcom in 2000. Got poor reviews but I liked it, had James Bolam in it.

    I remember lead balloon and I quite liked it. The only reason I remember parents of the band is because one for them went to my school.

    Seems odd seeing 00s stuff here! I remember most but only actually watched a few. I have Lead Balloon on DVD. It was billed to me as a UK version of Curb Your Enthusiasm. It is but not as good. Orrible I watched just because of Johnny Vaughan. Yeah it was bad but the DVD is very valuable as it was only sold for a few weeks. Some of these I've never heard of though (Baddiel, Parents Of The Band). Angelo's I have on DVD too only for Shelly Longworth.

    Lead Balloon was good.
    I remember the main criticism of it being that it was a ripoff of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'. Which it kind of was.
