Whenever Pastor Joseph was leading in worship or preaching the Word, he always had my attention. I was so drawn to God by his humility and sincerity. Truly he lived well and had completed his mission. He deserved His rewards. Well done faithful servant!
I came to know Joseph when he was working as the chaplaincy team at St. Andrew's and I had just started teaching. When he spoke, everybody listened and you could feel the Spirit of God moving in him. He was a very sincere man who was warm towards the students and the staff. He then left for Ywam and I did not meet him for more than 25 years until one day on a road junction cycling and he instantly called out to me. He must have met thousands and thousands of people over the years and I was really surprised he could still remember me after so many years. Just shows that this was man who not only loved GOd but loved others as well.
More than anything, Joseph Chean left behind a record of faithful, dedicated gospel labors for spiritual remembrance. Lets Jesus direct and lead more Christians to be like him. Amen
My condolences to Jo's family. I don't know Jo and his family personally. However, i have watched his video about missions. This brother is truly a servant of God.
only just found out he dies today, my husband and I spent a short time with him in ywam years ago. we quote him often. I looked him up today to discover he is with the Lord, how sad, but what a guy! Thank you Lord for Brother Cheans life xxx
Remembered how he passionately shared about the outreach works of YWAM in Geylang reaching the needy and marginised a number of years in BPMC. May our good Lord bless his soul and cover his family under the shadow of His wings! "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain."
@salt and light SG, where can messages be sent of memories of Jo, to Kim and her daughters? I'd love to send my condolences and some moments with Jo that changed my life.
I write things here that most here may not like or agree but if read the Bible/Koran/Torah carefully,it is the the historical truth. When modern humans, the Homo Sapiens first started to be civilised, we started the first three civilisations, that is The Sumerian or Mesopotamian,Indus River and the Yellow River civilisations.Actually there is a fourth , although not recorded, that is the Mesoamerican in modern day Central America. To make matters short,Joseph Chean ,like me are from the Yellow river civilisation and in the end of the day we were supposed to return there.Christians/jews and Muslims are suppose to return to their original homelands which is Babylon .Where can an East Asian like me fit in? The present Israeli/Palestinian war shows exactly what is was and what it is.None of the combatans are like me and they do not involve me or for that matter want me to be involved

I remember him singing passionately PEOPLE NEED THE LORD. Indeed he has lived out his life to fulfill his part in the Great Commission.

May I know the title of the song that was sung during the paying of respects?
It is a Korean blessing song, Jacob‘s Blessing. Joe’s favorite song.
😭

Frm 14:01-16:25 y is there is no sound.
Its quite sad to watch the funeral... the style of worship is very self-centered instead of God-focused
