Please keep providing tips like these. It has helped me so much as I play Horizon: Zero Dawn Remaster and then Forbidden West again after Zero Dawn is done. I am older, like soon to be celebrating seventy-two candles older in January. I do not have the reflexes of my younger game players so all tips that give me more to consider around strategy and tactics are helpful. I silently watch your plays at various times and enjoy them. Best success to you.
Same with me, Im 63 and don't have the quick reflexes anymore either, so no more PVP Call of Duty or Halo for me. Just started Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster myself and so far I'm doing ok on a lower (not the lowest) difficulty, so strategy is key for me too. Loving this game so far! Got a great deal by buying an old PS4 disk off Ebay a month ago for $12 and PSN doesn't seem to care its used as I was able to buy the Remaster upgrade for $10!
I think that the biggest benefit for lure call vs rock is that lure call only yellows 1 machine/enemy. Rocks alert all in the noise radius of the area. So trying to lure a mount may bring 3 striders to your bush. And thats not fun.
Excellent skill choices Arktix. It’s a little like being a kid in a toy store when first faced with acquiring skill points. “Hmm, which ones to get first?” So thanks Arktix. Another extremely helpful video tutorial. Take care mate!
I just loaded up my old save for zero dawn. And coming back from Forbidden West, this game is so different. Like my muscle memory is to wait till overdraw, but overdraw is so long in HZD. Also machine components don't destroy if you kill them. I always flinched when I accidentally blew up a fireclaws sac in HFW but here you can't kill it without blowing the sac. Playing after 7 yrs the mechanics feel so damn different. I wasn't planning on playing it again but now I definitely will do ng+ .
Shard Salveger = If you dismantle Stuff which is 1 Shard worth, you get 1 Shard out of it, NOT 0,5 Shard. That also goes for a Stack of 1 Shards worth stuff, if you have 100 Sparker equals to 100 Shards as well. Sparkers, Wires, some Flowers i think were the common candidate.
I've already achieved the platinum trophy for the original game and its DLC when it was first released on PC, and I don't plan to replay it. Perhaps I'll explore the Forbidden West later, but not anytime soon. Nonetheless, I really enjoy your content; the wealth of information, clever strategies, and your calm, soothing voice make me eager to watch more of your videos. By the way, thank you so much for the hints and tips about GOWR; they were incredibly helpful in allowing me to enjoy and complete my first playthrough the game 100% on PC just recently. Particularly, following your advice regarding Lunda's armor, with a few adjustments, made the endgame a lot of fun and particularly special compared to the previous installment IMHO.
Hey thanks a lot! I really appreciate you watching my content even though you don't plan to play the game anytime soon. Glad to hear you enjoy the videos 🙂 Thanks for your support! 🙏
I'm prob the only one here that doesn't like dodge prowess, rolling in ZD is faster than running and I often use to just roll while running away to get some distance from the machines, dodge prowess removes that normal roll Aloy does
Another excellent video, thanks! I'm loving playing Zero Dawn after taking a longer break from it. Have you considered a Zero Dawn guide to coils/weaves?
Hey, A. I'd love to hear your opinion on having the jump back and the long dodge compared to FW. For me, those make the game more fun. Easier, sure, but FB got so caught up in being harder it sometimes forgot the fun of combat beyond the challenge. Thoughts?
I did something that I found useful in the early game and that was to buy a sling from karst. Because it gives you access to the freeze element and it only costs about 70 shards or so. It really helps for dealing with fire bellowbacks which you will encounter in cauldron sigma. altough do be careful when using slings since you have to get closer to the machine that you decide to use it on. While im not as knowledgable as Arktix I hope this tip helps some people. Also Arktix your great, I watched your best gear videos for Forbidden West when I played it so I could use the right gear for the right stages in game love your videos keep up the good work
After playing only Forbidden West I was massively disappointed that you can't unequip coils/weaves without spending a bunch of skill points to be able to do so. So that's where I wasted a lot of my first skills, probably a mistake since ZD doesn't use as many coil slots as FW and I upgraded it super early in the game when I dont even have a lot of worthy coils but I just felt so incredibly limited and anxious not having that ability.
Hey thanks! And oh man you’re in for a real treat! The frozen wilds is my favorite content in the entire franchise and with the remaster it looks so good 🤩 Enjoy!
There are many bows in the game and I just realized I’ve been using the wrong bow as my main bow this whole time ?😅🏹… Any chance we can get a video guides on all the bows and how to properly coil them?
It’s a huge graphical/visual upgrade. Some small tweaks here and there beyond that, but it’s mainly a graphics upgrade. The facial animations are hugely improved. Definitely worth $10 to upgrade imo.
To me it's not a remaster, it's a 10$ PS5 upgrade. If that's how you think of it, then it's absolutely worth it. The visual overhaul is massive! Thinking of it as a remaster has led to mine and quite a few others disappointments.
If you have good aim? I'd suggest Shard Salvager and Expert Carver for your first three points. Medicinal plants are plentiful in the Embrace, and so is Ridge Wood. Then I'd go Critical Strike, Silent Strike, and Concentration in that order. Assuming you aren't playing Ultra Hard? That sets up the Heavy Spear hit-Critical Strike combo you mentioned. Pick up the green War Bow early and you can pop Scrappers with it, and the weapon tutorial quest gives a bit over 2000 XP, half way to your 4th SP just from that. From there I pick up Gather and Salvager. Shards are a big early bottleneck, and both Carver and Scavenger give better material to sell for the former, and chance at bonus materials often shards, for the later. Healing I keep health potions on tap, grinding the Embrace for animal parts leaves you with plenty of meat to craft them. And controls your inventory. From there? I try to alternate 'combat' purchases with 'economic' ones. For the economic line Ammo Crafter, Disarm Traps, and Tinker. Especially pick up Ammo Crafter once you get the purple Sharpshot Bow, Echo shells for tearblast arrows are hard to come by in the Sacred Lands. For combat? Silent Drop and Low Profile, then Hunter Reflexes and Strike from Above. That comes in handy in some of the story missions and hunting ground challenges. To round out the remaining 16? Combat wise look to get down to Double Notch (5 points) and complete the Stealth branch (6 points), along with picking up Scavenger+ (3 points). Healer and Herbalist round out the list, for one point extra.
Why in Forbidden West did they introduce rolling downwards when an enemy hits you and sends you flying where you struggle to get back up? I will never know? Combos in Forbidden West seemed really fun when fighting humans and they had to break out of your combos. Suck part was this not so helpful against machines. Especially when you’re stuck in a combo move and the raptor can just do a zip spin sending you rolling downward. I love combos, but Forbidden West just made it suck. I came from Forbidden West to Zero Dawn after the graphics update. Takes some getting use to, especially when your used to Aloy pretty much climbing 🧗♀️ almost anywhere and being able to glide down from anywhere, where Zero Dawn does not have this mechanic and slide which I absolutely love using, pretty much sucks in Zero Dawn. Zero Dawn is like a new game for me and even not having many of the abilities you have in Forbidden West, Zero Dawn is a fun game and I can see why so many people were excited when Forbidden West was released because Zero Dawn was such a big hit. ❤
@@omensoffate true As someone who mods games i have always preferred high damage in and out. I have been playing on normal damage to enemies and hard damage to Aloy. This remastered play is my second time playing. Only played the game once before(years ago).

i recommend;
-no concentration
-limit 2 weapons at a time
-only craft ammo at campfires
