Possessive Pronouns and Adjectives

- In this video, we discuss Subject and Possessive Pronouns, as well as how to use Possessive Adjectives.
We can replace, for example, a name with a pronoun for subjects (ie: Matt → He) or objects (ie: Mark → him). We can also replace a possessive (ie: Matt's → his).
For example:
Matt takes Mark's pen.
Who took Mark's pen?
Matt took it. (Mark's pen = it)
What did Matt take?
He took Mark's pen. (He = Matt)
Did Matt take Mark's pen?
Yes, he took it. (He = Matt and it = Mark's pen)

I want to know which of these is correct and the reason for your answer:
1) I am a friend of Matthew.
2) I am a friend of Matthew's.
I am Matthew’s friend.
I’m a friend of Matthew’s.
Both ways are okay 👍
If you say “I’m a friend of”
use (‘s) after the name

An adjective can come before a noun or after a BE verb ->

These three men are happy.

I have a question... In the case that we have for example, plural things, (whose shoes are these), how can i answer?
You can say:
These are my shoes.
Or
These are mine?
Mine = my shoes
Hope that helps :)
Thanks
Can you explain it slowly please but it was good
Watch it again and again! It’ll help!
Thank you so much for your this video i understood it
but
i have a question a bout it
please please please answer me
you said in possessive adjective we have to put a noun after them
but
in possessive pronouns we do not have to put a noun after them because pronoun is a word that replaces a noun
but how can we know its in the sentences is possessive pronoun or possessive adjective
because you said in its we have to put a noun always
it is its ball.
what is (its) in this sentence
it is possessive pronoun or possessive adjective?
what should we say?
• Possessive adjective: “Its” in “It is its ball” (modifies the noun “ball”).
• Possessive pronoun: “Its” would stand alone, like “This ball is its” (which is not standard usage because “its” as a possessive pronoun is rarely used without a noun).
Thank you Matt !!!

This is Matt's pen. (Matt's - possessive noun)
@@TeachersMarkandMatt Thank you sir
You should call Matt's pen is possessive noun determiner or adjective and call Matt's without a noun possessive noun .This must be perfect explanation being same as pronoun case . No one understands like me even native speaker.
It is a good video
