I have one, in fact, but again, many of the places I am in my day to day life do not have an accessible tap, and in those cases, I am glad to have the option of purchasing a quick bottled water on the go.
Looking forward to seeng this movie. What I don't see in the trailer is whether or not they point out that they found a way to get people to PAY for something we get for free. I have been using a Britta filter with tap water for more than 10 years now, partly because it made my water taste better but also out of concern for the landfill.
I can't wait for part 2, Air. Yeah yeah yeah water, air and food they all are bad for you at some point. The it's the next thing and the next and so on. I will watch the movie but this world needs to start over soon when we get to the point of bottled water wars. Man this world sucks now but I'm glad we have Ipones, Ipods and HD everything. Those are the things that truly make this world a better place.
This is not a black and white issue for many people. For example, I live in a heavily industrialized area, and the water that comes out of our tap actually stinks most of the time. It's disgusting and not fit to drink at all. I do use a Brita filter but if I also buy bottled water sometimes because it's the only time I get to taste pure water. If people are going to stop drinking bottled water, many municipalities need to start finding ways to make their water more palatable.
This is video brought me to tears in a good way. I needed that wake up call again. We know this intellectually however this video went to the heart of the matter on all levels. Thank you for sharing and I posted it on FB. I'm giving up bottle water now. Thank you and I will keep sharing the message. Faith
This is a great film. I am going to put this on my Facebook and spread the word. I am amazed how few people seem to care about the impact this can have on their longer term heath and the environment
In Florida there are A LOT of "bottled water" companies (3 in ft Lauderdale alone) that take the city water, piped to the bottling plant through the same pipes that take it to peoples homes, and it gets bottled in a sanitary manner. Then it is sold to the same people who can get that same water from their own kitchen tap for about $5.65 per 1000 gallons, but now it is delivered in a 5 gallon plastic bottle for $1.00 per gallon from the "bottled water company" No matter the source have it tested
@leafwatch The only thing I would dispute is that Fluoride is not dumped into the water as an industrial waste, definitely not without reason. It was found to reduce cavities, in a time when that was a big public health improvement. If water sources could be controlled locally 100% of the time that would be beautiful. Areas with higher populations don't really have that luxury, as their sources are massive and often from somewhere somewhat far outside the city.
@JRskatr You should do some research on an area called the Pacific Gyre. It's an area in the Pacific ocean where currents converge bringing with them all of the plastic waste that doesn't biodegrade. It is estimated to be about the size of the state of Texas and the plastic waste occupies the top 10 meters of the water column. Maybe not "all" but I think you'd agree it's a lot.....perhaps consider a drive across Texas to get some perspective.
There is a difference. For example, Spring water has no dangerous chemicals in it, and it has no heavy metals in it like Lead. It does, however, have minerals in it because the water was filtered naturally by the Earth. These minerals are good for you. Once the water gets to the facility, it is cleaned by a 0.2 micron filter, and it is disinfected by a UV light. If you look on the label and the manufacture is Nestle Waters, the bottles will be BPA free.
The Kangen water machine SD501 made by Enagic is the most perfect water in the world. It has been a medical device in Japan ,in hospitals and private homes but has been sold by distributors that owns a machine for 10 years in the U.S.A.
This a really good overview of an industry with few controls having a significant impact on our planet. Go out a get a reusable water bottle and make a positive change for your health and the planet. There are many great options to choose from at BuyGreen and we really like the Klean Kanteens!
WOuld you kindly put a link to the film distributor's website in your INFO, so that we could more easily find show location information, etc? Thanks. I review films, but can't even see here where it's showing.
@nissimmalul, Sounds interesting but what do you do until then? Drink tap water or bottled water? Which is safer? Should you filter both? And which filter should one use? etc.
It goes to show you that there really are stupid people who dont care about our environment to vote a thumbs down on this trailer. The documentary is amazing, people really do need to see this, and get those plastic bottles outta here!!!
The water filter on my fridge taste better than most bottled water and it does taste better than strait out of the tap. It cost me $80 a year, but better than wasting it on bottled water.
@Hells2TheYea there is a solution that is been used in Japan for the past 25 years, and extracted from a volcanic rock named Black Mica. It has the power to turn any water into drinking water, and also will mineralize the water with over 80 minerals and trace minerals in ionic state, meaning they are dissolved and readily available for the cells and the blood to assimilate.
Hello Guybots, First, water lines are not "closed off" when it is broken. The water line valve is turned off upstream. The open end of the broken pipe is exposed and the raw sewage runs into the open pipe. As consumers downstream from the pipeline break use water, the raw sewage enters the broken pipe mixes with tap water in the lines. Second, notifications "sent" would not arrive until days later, and are not sent. continued....
The issue goes deeper than the leached chemicals and environmental cost of producing and distributing bottled water. The problem is large companies SELLING what should be a free resource. There is a finite amount of fresh water available and we in North America do have an abundance of it. As this resource continues to be 'tapped' more and more by large companies the amount available to the populace decreases. Wat happens when it runs out? What will the next world war be fought over? Not oil.
(1) I watched "Who Killed The Electric Car" and it was worth it. Not simply for the electric cars, but for realising the way technological progress is brutally stopped at many areas, when it means loss of (short term) profit . Some say that electric car is not a solution- electricity plants still need petroil. In countless countries, there is enough solar and aeolic energy to cover their needs and sell to the nearby countries. They say that these kind of energies are
I bought a metal ecocanteen because I wanted to save a few bucks on water as I thought bottled water prices were just ludicrous...I had NO IDEA all the other problems which stem from the production, bottling, distribution, etc.
i had no idea this was such a huge issue until i saw it on your google site. by the way this was my first time going to a persons google site. i am going to follow you there as well. this was interesting.
thats the problem here with saying we should all just drink tap water and not bottled water. the fluoride is the main thing that concerns me, and the reason why i dont ever drink it. i look for bottled water with no fluoride. thats always been my main concern.
What about the water that is processed thru charcoal, UV, reverse osmosis, etc. at locations where you can fill your own containers? Isn't that tap water that is processed further to eliminate certain other elements? Isn't that more safe than tap water arriving at your sink?
It's not just the problem with plastic bottles. If you had the chance to actually watch the documentary it explains bottling companies are installing wells which pump out water supplies for towns and local residents. This is where the problem is. Who owns water?
Be careful Bill. You may have some health issues drinking distilled water, as would be the same by drinking RO water. After a period of time if you notice cramping of the muscles or your heart acting up, arythmia, try getting off the distilled ( or RO ) water. For me it was distilled water. My sister in-law it was RO.
@PandoorasMistake there are many dentists, researchers, scientists who dispute the claim that ingesting fluoride is healthy in any way. Just because experts differ is a very good reason why decisions should not be make by one monolithic agency which inevitably supports a status quo that lobbyists pay to keep. Even where populations are dense, cooperatives can work together, share information, yet allow different choices for local areas. We will be better served by a plethora of choices
Hi, yes there is an amazing water you should drink...Its called kangen water. Its the best antioxidant you can drink right now. It's had amazing health benefits for so many including my daughter and parents louella kanew
I don't get what people are complaining about. To sustain a capitalistic system, money needs to move with as little friction as posible. What could be better than to sell tap water, which cost viritually nothing, for let's say $1 per bottle. It is the best idea since sliced bread.
So what should I drink ?! Tap water from old, rusted pipes of London and my house? Is this better for my health, I dont think so! What if I'm out, what should I drink? Please answer
I meant no such implication. But there is one now that you mention it. Filters like brita do not remove fluoride. I just looked up one of the filters the other comments are mentioning that does remove fluoride. That vista thing cost 3 grand lol. Yeah right.
there are lots of really important points in this video, but the whole thing is mixing together several issues: the non-renewability of petrochemical resources, contamination of goods for human consumption, contamination of the environment, culpability of commercial businesses and government in controlling quality. Some of these are quite separate issues that all just happen to apply to bottled water. They also apply to Cola, milk and all drinks provided in plastic. Water is not unique in this.
So how are we suppose to drink water then? I'm not blessed like my grandparents are. Those lucky peeps are living in the mountains and drink water from melting gletjsers filterer by earth lol. I've went there and tasted the water myself and my goodness, it was the first time I experienced a diffferent taste in water. It was heavenly. My grandpa is almost 80 and still lifts bags of 20-25kgs and moves them uphill lol. He's vegeterian.
@uniq @darbonify @andreaa Tap water is also not as great. Really depends on the region. But also tap water contains many pollutants, chemicals and nano plastic. The biggest down side with either bottled, tap or filtered (RO) water is that this is "dead" water. It doesn't hydrate you properly enough, some are really acidic, than it should be and the ORP is so high, it can't provide well-being in the body. For this reason, to be properly hydrated and to have living water, rather than dead, I drink ionized, micro-clustered, antioxidant water, also named Kangen water. I could continue on forever with all the benefits, so message me for more information :)
@marvelousmarv89 tap water can have no confirmed E. coli or fecal coliform bacteria (bacteria that are indications of possible contamination by fecal matter). FDA bottled water rules include no such prohibition (a certain amount of any type of coliform bacteria is allowed in bottled water).
I am traveling trhough Africa for year, been in Morocco for over five weeks and drinking the tap water. I haven't gotten sick from it yet. I use a nalgene and sterilize my water with a steripen....I rarely buy bottled water....right now it's all I can do.
God this is scary. My family and I do recycle all of our plastics and reusable materials, but the hazard of chemicals seeping into the water from the plastic and seeing all those sick people who live near the plants are disturbing to say the least. Another good thought provoker is Food Inc.
@adrizo78 If you're getting at the point that those two chemicals, even added in deemed "safe" levels by the FDA are still harmful, then I agree with you. Especially about the Fluorine and Fluorides as their neurotoxic effects are well understood and documented.
do you know whats the best type of water to drink, atm i am filtering bottled mineral water, from ashbeck spring, with a wilko water filter jug, what are you drinking,
Tap water here in Italy doesn't taste too good, so I've had bottled almost exclusively, up until one or two years ago. I stopped because I found it ridiculous to waste such large quantities of oil (for both transport and plastic) for what basically comes down to a preference of taste and little less.
I saw this movie in class today it was the best documentary ever
Yes! Great work. Everyone who watches this should tell their friends. Stop the madness. Stop buying bottled water!
I have one, in fact, but again, many of the places I am in my day to day life do not have an accessible tap, and in those cases, I am glad to have the option of purchasing a quick bottled water on the go.

Very good film, will be sharing
I bought a Kangen K8 water machine in February 2024 and it changed my life and the lives of others in so many ways.
This is not a black and white issue for many people. For example, I live in a heavily industrialized area, and the water that comes out of our tap actually stinks most of the time. No longer buying bottled water. Thanks for bringing awareness to this issue!
What an amazing selection of music for this!
I watched this movie and it was very good, I highly recommend it! It changed my outlook on the bottled water industry.
This is video brought me to tears in a good way. I needed that wake up call again. We know this intellectually however this video went to the heart of the matter on all levels. Thank you for sharing and I posted it on FB. I'm giving up bottle water now.
Thank you and I will keep sharing the message.

Amazing documentary! I live in Maine... And I'm pissed! Didn't gave a clue this was happening! Hello Tap water I love you!
I'm attending a screening of this in Plano, Texas tomorrow @ SMG! Cannot wait... Ban the bottle!!!
Exactly why we made the Retap bottle and wanted to make a difference :-) thank you for sharing the movie.
Very good and informative documentary.
I hope there will be a better documentary about this issue in the near future.
Great videos….a must watch. Your government for sale, everything is being auctioned off.

it is currently out, but I saw it at an environmental film festival, so it isn't out in many venues I would bet...

never realized being cheap and drinking tap would save my life. cool.
This is a great documentary!
I have several cases of bottled water delivered to me twice a month - and I plan on continuing to do so. God I despise the "green" trend.
WOuld you kindly put a link to the film distributor's website in your INFO, so that we could more easily find show location information, etc? Thanks. I review films, but can't even see here where it's showing.
That is why I bought a Kangen Water Machine. I became a strong advocate and Distributor.
@3pendont4 Doesn't change the fact that bottled water = tap water, plastic contains BPAs etc.
@nissimmalul,
Sounds interesting but what do you do until then? Drink tap water or bottled water? Which is safer? Should you filter both? And which filter should one use? etc.
Bottled water may be the greatest advertisement trick of all time. Next to war. And meat and dairy.
It goes to show you that there really are stupid people who dont care about our environment to vote a thumbs down on this trailer. The documentary is amazing, people really do need to see this, and get those plastic bottles outta here!!!

Is it worth a minute or two to fill a re-usable bottle from the tap? One that has better temperature maintenance than a plastic bottle?

Agreed!
Love the choice of Just Like You Imagined.
I bought a metal ecocanteen because I wanted to save a few bucks on water as I thought bottled water prices were just ludicrous...I had NO IDEA all the other problems which stem from the production, bottling, distribution, etc.
I beg to differ. The "Vesta" by AlkaViva is way more advanced and way less expensive. The water this unit produces is FANTASTIC!!!
I use a water filter on my tap and used the same bottle for two years.I have it still.
thats gross haha
yes, but most of the places I am at in my day to day life do not have an accessible tap.
i had no idea this was such a huge issue until i saw it on your google site. by the way this was my first time going to a persons google site. i am going to follow you there as well. this was interesting.
i am aware of the home filtration systems, but those things are a bit expensive at the moment so ill have to save up for it.
I did not understand are they trying to save their water company? Or saying that tap water is the same as bottle waters
Another idea is that we should create a ban on plastic water bottles!
do water filter jugs remove fluoride from tap water? what type of water do you drink, do filter jugs leach chemicals into the water?
thats the problem here with saying we should all just drink tap water and not bottled water. the fluoride is the main thing that concerns me, and the reason why i dont ever drink it. i look for bottled water with no fluoride. thats always been my main concern.
This movie was amazing. Really inspired me.
Heard about this... movie seems great, thanks for the upload.

I never knew there were so many people who are experts on water! Haha

what type of water do you drink, do water filter jugs remove flouride
watched this last night very good and people should watch it. I don't buy bottle water and never really have. I think it's just silly too.
We are showing this documentary in our organization. UH Cougars
@PandoorasMistake there are many dentists, researchers, scientists who dispute the claim that ingesting fluoride is healthy in any way. very interesting, the opening music was used in the movie warlord with nicolas cage
Did this already come out or has it yet to come out? I'm confused.
After that I put a filter in my tap and you know what? The water is delicious. :-)
@Username2046,
Duh. That's the point. Just because you shower in it doesn't mean it's any more okay to drink it.
when is this out, and where can i get it?
Hi, yes there is an amazing water you should drink...Its called kangen water. Its the best antioxidant you can drink right now. It's had amazing health benefits for so many including my daughter and parents louella kanew
Do you have a list of all of the songs that were sampled? :)
I don't get what people are complaining about. To sustain a capitalistic system, money needs to move with as little friction as posible. What could be better than to sell tap water, which cost viritually nothing, for let's say $1 per bottle. It is the best idea since sliced bread.
mad props on the Pink Floyd track! :)
Is this movie out yet, I want to add it to my favs and show friends this crazy shit
So what should I drink ?! Tap water from old, rusted pipes of London and my house? Is this better for my health, I dont think so! What if I'm out, what should I drink? Please answer
When will this doc be complete and available?

It's A Water Revolution!!!!!
AWESOME!!!

Tap water. Less plastic particles, better regulated and controlled, cheaper, and won't pollute.
tap water is totally fine. i drink it and my cat too.

Living water 💧
@tommychunk94 Buffalo Springfield - For What Its Worth is the first song.
there is a uniqueness to water
it is the plain and simple fact that only 1% of water globally is actually potable
This reminds me about Tank Girl the movie. DOWN WITH WATER AND POWER!!
do you know if Styrene Acrylonitrile is a safe plastic, im concerned that my water filter jug is not safe, any information would be appreciated,
what's the song in the last part in the trailer I've heard it before.
What do we do if we are in other countries with unsafe tap water?

do you know whats the best type of water to drink, atm i am filtering bottled mineral water, from ashbeck spring, with a wilko water filter jug, what are you drinking,
Beautiful.

i bought an army cantine after watching this documentary. i wont use a single plastic bottle again
What does it do? I never heard of it.
Traslate this documental in spanish please
bottled water is why the water level in the Great Lakes has been dropping for years
