    Another triumph of a back alley. Wonderful build. You make it look so easy, Michael. Thanks for sharing. Roy.

    Somebody has a lot of patience ! Not to mention a large supply of super sharp scalpel blades and a rock-steady hand to make all those near-microscopic cuts ! Well done ! I cannot wait for the next instalment.

    Yes it does work Michael, and thank you for the tip on Photopea for the image distortion tool. I’ll be using this technique on my layout backscenes.

    Your ability to work with cereal packets is astonishing Michael and very interesting. I have been a modeller for 60 years + and I rarely seen work equal to it. This really is turning into a must watch cereall!! Bob.

    All this forces perspective work is paying off. You've nailed this right out of the gate! The perspetive tool is a great addition to your arsenal of tools. Really like that concept of vanishing around the corner.
    The idea of a set horizon or viewing line consistent about the layout is another good idea. Your whole landscape will benefit from this.
    Model On!

    Hi ya Michael. I’m always happy when a new Chandwell episode pops up. And I’m never disappointed. This is a great example of using forced perspective. Can you imagine attempting this without all the “ tools “ you have at your disposal. You would have to be a professional draughtsman/engineer. Thanks for another great little episode. I do appreciate you keeping them short. See ya next time.

    Nice use of mock-ups before you commit to the final build. I do the same in fact I try to mock up all my buildings and bridges and live them for months and tackle each building from right to left.

    Those bent perspective models are some kind of a higher model building art - great to see, how you have mastered it (again), Michael. And I really appreciate, that you share your knowledge in a way, even not super experienced model builders might master it, too.
    Great video as alsways.
    All the best

    I gotta say you’re really creative. Building all of this from card and paper like the old guys used to do with a modern twist makes for interesting content. I’m blown away at some of the stuff those old timers did/do.

    I have been in need of an idea for a 'break' in the wall of stores and warehouses that are the rear of my "wrong side of the tracks" section of urban scenery in River City.(my own urban to industrial exhibition layout).

    I wonder: in the alleyway you chose as inspiration, you can see light coming from the right, along the alley, adding a sense of depth.
    Might it be possible to add some faint, diffuse light seemingly coming from the end of the alley, say, a couple of faint white LEDs behind a hidden strip of tracing paper at the farthest end of the alley?

    • @Chandwell

    Great (and it goes without saying, fiddly) job. I like the industrial chimney in the real life picture. Do you plan to add one in your alley? Not that there isn't enough detail already, or enough still to do. Cheers

    • @Chandwell
      @Chandwell  2 роки тому

      Yes. Would love to add that giant flue. I’ll not be detailing the alleyway until the other side is in place though.

    Hi Michael, been watching your videos for a few months now and really like what you’re doing. I’m looking to give it a go at a fairly simple building. Must apologise as I’m sure you’ve been asked this many times before but what labels and card do you use to print your texture layers on to. Many thanks, Colin

    • @Chandwell
      @Chandwell  2 роки тому

      Hello Colin. I print textures onto photo paper as the quality is better than the labels which I only use for base layers. All the details are in this video and the links to everything I use are in the video’s description. Hope this helps! Scratch building with card - tools and materials
