Also Financial Fair Play is factor, which it wasn’t for Chelsea or City. That in itself means it will take them a lot longer. You can’t revolutionise in the way City did and change the team in the space of a year. That kind of change might take 3 or 4 years now.
@@Mezzala9 All the great young talent's or Top Players will still want to go to Real Madrid or Bayern or Barca ect. I think Newcastle will have to build up slowly a good team base then maybe grab a Trophy here and there and start challenging for the Title for huge players wanting to go ther.
I was a big Liverpool fan in the 80s than a very big Man United fan, up until Man City got taken over, but I can see now they are little clubs, compare to my true love, Newcastle United.
“It’s gonna take a lot of money” sorry but can someone remind me how much money Leicester spend the season the got promoted into the premier league and went onto winning the title?
That was several years ago. Since then Chelsea, City, Liverpool, United and even Spurs, Everton and West Ham have strengthened considerably, which can be seen by Leicester finishing no higher than fifth. Leicester's win was a flash in the pan, something that happens once in a lifetime. Yeah, a team could do the impossible and win the league without spending, but I wouldn't put any money on it. May as well talk about Watford and Burnley's chances of winning if we're going to use Leicester as an example.
Took Chelsea 2 seasons and a lot of money, took City 4 seasons and even more money. Today with FFP restrictions, a more competitive league at the top end and many top clubs competing for the same players it’ll take some time for Newcastle to get up there though I believe they will. 4-5 years to be competing for Champions League places like Leicester and probably around 8 till they’re having a serious run at titles.

@@kylekennedy7311 I'd hope my team would have a more ethical outlook for our perspective owners. You don't deserve to go and spend £2Billion of money from a foreign state to change your clubs fortunes.
Depends on how well they recruit. If they get a good recruitment system like Leicester, they can go far. If they convince a top manager to come in, that will speed things up too.
It will be interesting that’s for sure. I think Newcastle are seriously in danger of getting relegated this season with all the hype distracting to current set of players. But whether they get relegated or not there is no way they are going to be in contention for winning the premier league in two or three years. If they get the right manager, if they get the right players, if they run the club properly from top to bottom they might get top six in four or five years. One problem they have is that everything they do will have intense media scrutiny, and any success they do have will be fully credited to the money and not the how good the manager or players really are.
I hope they fail miserably. How anyone can support a prince that has murdered and beheaded people and thave their club owned by the state of Saudi Arabia is beyond me. I would be ashamed of my club and some things are just bigger than a game of football. Politcialy and morally, this is just disgusting.
As well as attracting world class players its important they invest in the academy and bring through local players as thats what units and excites the fans. They need another Gazza to come through, just like Foden at Man City.
Absolutely. All clubs need that. Liverpool with Gerrard, United with Scholes, Giggs etc, Arsenal with Saka, Newcastle with Gazza, City with Foden, Villa with Grealish.
Newcastle needs to create a vision with realistic goal and that will attract players... Knowing that you might be apart of something special is why a player would join a team, this why Chelsea and Man City has managed to attract so much talent
I think it will be at least 6-7 years before they get European football. The fans have to be realistic here you need time to build a team that can challenge the big teams and that could take a decade to get the right balance in the team and squad.
@@El_Descarriado They have one of the richest owners in the league. They bought their position as a top 7 club. If that’s all Newcastle become, most fans will be entirely satisfied.

@@El_Descarriado True. What I’m saying is that the new owners could run the club like Leicester and fans would be very happy. Under Ashley we were significantly poorer than Leicester and therefore couldn’t spend the sort of money they did to get top 7 and win the league. Now we’ll actually compete with clubs we’re bigger than and even if we don’t go full PSG/ Man City we’ll have at least some chance of success.
Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, good luck with building a team to rival those. The rest of the premier league is much of a muchness. Wouldn’t take much to get into Europe. Can’t see them winning anything. RB Leipzig spring to mind. Newcastle now just a marketing brand for Saudi Arabia.
I honestly feel if Newcastle hire a good manager in the next 2 years, they have an amazing chance of fighting for the title by 2024. Thing is, which top top manager would go there any time soon?
I would say minimum 10 years, Chelseas new era has only just begun with a Champions League trophy already under his belt, I don't actually see Newcastle winning a league but challenging maybe 10 years, we'll see
chelsea were a top team since end of the 90's before the takeover and city's owners prior to the takeover spent much more than ashley ever had at newcastle
They can get there but it will take them a lot longer than it did Chelsea for example. In 2003, Chelsea were already decent and no other Club had that kind of money. That’s not the case now. Newcastle will also have to deal with Financial Fair Play, which Chelsea and Man City didn’t have to. That will slow them down as well.
Yet they say Newcastle have spent ridiculous amount of money... We have spent very very wisely... Didn't bought any superstars for like £100m , we spent £100m on 5-6 good premier league players instead
Newcastle United is basically career mode reset they need someone to stop them going down for now because I think them escaping the championship will be quite tough even with that squad
It’s gonna take hundreds and hundreds of millions even over a billion if they’re ever gonna win the league. Villa have spent close to half a Billion in the last few seasons and we’re still just breaking into the top 10.
I’d love to see Away fans holding up Jamal Khashoggi banners/photos of him, etc at Newcastle matches. So they’re constantly reminded of what they’ve done. No amount of money, success will make what they’ve done in buddying with those Saudis disappear.

Also Financial Fair Play is factor, which it wasn’t for Chelsea or City. That in itself means it will take them a lot longer. You can’t revolutionise in the way City did and change the team in the space of a year. That kind of change might take 3 or 4 years now.
@@jamesm1579 Yeah true, i think it will take longer than 3 or 4 years for CL challenge.
Why will it not be easy to attract players? Why do you think those foreign players come to play in the EPL?
@@Mezzala9 All the great young talent's or Top Players will still want to go to Real Madrid or Bayern or Barca ect. I think Newcastle will have to build up slowly a good team base then maybe grab a Trophy here and there and start challenging for the Title for huge players wanting to go ther.
Remember this video in a few years time when Newcastle are still struggling to get into the top 10
Well we are 9th at the moment and it’s been 6 months so we will see Chris 😂
I was a big Liverpool fan in the 80s than a very big Man United fan, up until Man City got taken over, but I can see now they are little clubs, compare to my true love, Newcastle United.
Here's a hotter question
How long until United challenges for title?
Probably the last great era of football ..where football was ALMOST local and local players were cherished ...
I think it will fall flat on its face personally
Yh they need Ginola back. Very interesting perspective.
A 'leicester' like situation only happens once in a lifetime. The last time a shock team won the league was Blackburn. Wont happen again for decades
You can't seriously need it explaining to you 🤦🏽
newcastle united are title contenders now , as long as they keep winning , need to bring in more talent and goal scorers .
Finally my soccer team the 'magbirds' are on the up 💪💪💪
They just got beat and are second from bottom of the league
Ginola was a total g btw absolute legend
What world class player will want to play in cold, poor northern newcastle? It's grim up there
exactly, horrid place newcastle. Just rainy and grey
true
@@dictionarydaz6424 but you're so far north, basically scotland. Gives me the shivers just thinking about it
@@dictionarydaz6424 that's why it was chosen for the cotton industry, nice and damp
I thought that but then visited and it is actually nice.
Never thought I would see this title from Sky Sports vid but here we are...
25year Newcastle fan here. Priority right now is wins and try get as many points before January.
Getting the right manager in is key for us. We need to get to January and try get some solid players in January
I hope you get relegated. Selling to Saudi blood money is the worst thing you could have done.
@@ceironjones7669 mate we are not the only club to have done this! Southampton etc. I understand your frustration. But you wouldn’t be complaining if it was your team.
@@kylekennedy7311 I'd hope my team would have a more ethical outlook for our perspective owners. You don't deserve to go and spend £2Billion of money from a foreign state to change your clubs fortunes.
@@kylekennedy7311 tbf this guy has a point coming from a Liverpool fan
Michael Owen talking about mercenaries 😂😂
@@nickxcore74 Terry at Chelsea and more
Redknapped is finished as a pundit
Newcastle needs to create a vision with realistic goal and that will attract players...
Knowing that you might be apart of something special is why a player would join a team, this why Chelsea and Man City has managed to attract so much talent
I'm sorry what man city done before there takeover.
I think it will be at least 6-7 years before they get European football. The fans have to be realistic here you need time to build a team that can challenge the big teams and that could take a decade to get the right balance in the team and squad.
Thankfully Newcastle fans have no real expectations anyway. We’re just happy to have hope. A chance to do a Leicester City one day is all we ask.
@@chrispeacock1257 You're not doing a Leicester buying success, though.
@@El_Descarriado They have one of the richest owners in the league. They bought their position as a top 7 club. If that’s all Newcastle become, most fans will be entirely satisfied.
@@chrispeacock1257 Yeah, not how it works.
You can have outside investment and still spend responsibly and only use money you earn, which pretty much everyone does.
Or you can do a City, Chelsea, PSG and spend billions of money funnelled in through fake sponsors and cooked books, throw around money to ruin the transfer market and price out other teams, pay ludicrous wages beyond FFP through affiliated 'sponsorships' etc.
@@El_Descarriado True. What I’m saying is that the new owners could run the club like Leicester and fans would be very happy. Under Ashley we were significantly poorer than Leicester and therefore couldn’t spend the sort of money they did to get top 7 and win the league. Now we’ll actually compete with clubs we’re bigger than and even if we don’t go full PSG/ Man City we’ll have at least some chance of success.
funny how the old castle player dodged the question when it was directed at him
The premier league is hard . It could take them 10-15 years to challenge for the league. But its a very bright future for them.
Manager won't help much with awful players and board
I would say minimum 10 years, Chelseas new era has only just begun with a Champions League trophy already under his belt, I don't actually see Newcastle winning a league but challenging maybe 10 years, we'll see
Dyer got injured holding the mike
A decade or more. If they spend a billion pounds and get a decent manager.
chelsea were a top team since end of the 90's before the takeover and city's owners prior to the takeover spent much more than ashley ever had at newcastle
Next season they can get out of the posit they are in, decent finish maybe and then the challange begins, from a Middlesbrough fan
Good luck
5minutes and 43seconds
Thanks took me straight to the good part
Agree more with Kieron Dyer recruitment is key .
Give it 5 years & we'll be top 4 by then
Depends how much they are allowed to spend
They can get there but it will take them a lot longer than it did Chelsea for example. In 2003, Chelsea were already decent and no other Club had that kind of money. That’s not the case now. Newcastle will also have to deal with Financial Fair Play, which Chelsea and Man City didn’t have to. That will slow them down as well.
every player on planet earth will now want to come to newcastle and play for them i am jealous much
Yet they say Newcastle have spent ridiculous amount of money... We have spent very very wisely... Didn't bought any superstars for like £100m , we spent £100m on 5-6 good premier league players instead
I remember when QPR had their big take over....
Because villa signed no one of talent
@@TwofourA you’re a bit dim
Imagine a sport where everybody competed on an even playing field.
Am telling you right now in another 5 years Newcastle will not be much better than they are now. Fact.
I’d love to see Away fans holding up Jamal Khashoggi banners/photos of him, etc at Newcastle matches. So they’re constantly reminded of what they’ve done. No amount of money, success will make what they’ve done in buddying with those Saudis disappear.
