The final version feels kinda like the final boss losing himself to the madness of fighting the hero, partly because it doesn't even seem to be in the key of E. The other's love to hover around that note a lot because that's basically the whole premise of the songs' existence. The boss lost sight of himself in his endeavor to defeat his nemesis or something.

Holy shit man, this was good. This sounded like a final boss fight with three phases. But...in a lot of games, there's a secret final boss.
