Totally agree with you, I did the same on my old Skywatcher 250PX with focuser, and also added flocking just around the secondary mirror. Plug the hole, get better images with Dobsonian Power! I did fit my Dobs onto a go-to years ago, but where I am now it is difficult to do anything. too big and too narrow view. But I am wishing to refit onto EQ6 again. Keep the good working and help people get into astronomy and without getting a Bank loan!
I’m fairly new to telescopes. You said light leaks affect your photos, how do the the collapsing work, they are completely open, wouldn’t the light from the sides be worse than any leak??
Yes. That's why people use shrouds. Yeah i know, why do they sell them like this? Well some of them come with a schroud other's don't. You buy it or just make one
