- Antonio Guterres has begun his address to the Security Council during a session to discuss the resolution for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire” in Gaza.
This is what he has said so far:
“We have already seen the spillover in the occupied West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen. There is clearly, in my view, a serious risk of aggravating existing threats to the maintenance of international peace and security”.
“The risk of collapse of the humanitarian system is fundamentally linked to the complete lack of safety and security for our staff in Gaza and with the nature and intensity of military operations which are severely limiting access to people in desperate need.”
“The threat to the safety and security of United Nations staff in Gaza is unprecedented. More than 130 of my colleagues have already been killed, many with their families. This is the largest single loss of life in the history of our organisation.”
“I cannot emphasise strongly enough the UN is totally committed to stay and deliver for the people of Gaza. And I pay tribute to the heroic humanitarian aid workers who remain committed to their work despite the enormous dangers to their health and their lives. But the situation is simply becoming untenable”.

The Hamas gunmen who committed the October 7th attack were born in an open-air prison. They have no past, present, and future. Israel is an apartheid state. When people are oppressed all their lives by a racist hierarchy state, at some point, they will fight to break free from the oppressor. They are trying to make it appear that Gaza is a "state" of Israel that has gone 'rogue" and their action is some kind of "police" action. I live in Germany. Whenever someone starts talking about Russian crimes or Iran dictatorship, I will just hear "bla bla bla". There is no moral here, no equal human values. When you take blatantly one-sided bias opinionated arguments, you lose credibility. Desperate, angry people will do anything to resolve their situation and the Palestinians have been made exactly that for over 75 long years with little to no hope in sight against the oppression.

We keep hearing the same thing over and over again for two months. The UN security council needs to step up things and stop the wooden language and lip service and start acting accordingly. The UN must force Israel to stop immediately engaging in negotiations or applying severe sanctions or use other means, such form a coalition and go into Gaza as a protector or assist Palestinians (NOT Hamas) to defend themselves, as Palestinians have the right to defend themselves too. No one is above the law and Israel is not different from anyone else and must abide by the law.

It has the support of the United States of America that CONTROLS the international law and the U.S. has itself already SANCTIIONED judges in the International Court of Justice for even daring to name Americans in their list of those who have committed crimes against humanity in Afghanistan. I think the reason is so the military powers don't just ignore what is decided and instead they can just veto everything that doesn't suit them and make the UN look like a joke.

Integrity refers to a steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. Dignity refers to the state of being worthy of esteem or respect. A person with integrity will be honest and follow a strict moral code. A person with dignity will behave in a respectful manner and will treat people with dignity.

The fact that Israel can just massacre over 100 UN employees, and other humanitarian workers, with little reaction from North America notably (I am Canadian), blows my mind. It is unthinkable and the UN must react. Of course, the casualties I mention here are just an example: the tip of the iceberg of this Crime against Humanity (this is not a few Crimes of war, but clearly a systematic and intentional policy of massacre and destruction of a civilian population, unless one lies to themselves and denies the facts).
Ah - but Israel has claimed that those UN employees and international reporters stood in the way of their falling bombs when they see them being dropped. It is therefore, not Israel's fault. They were told to step aside for the bombs being aimed at the Hamas children and crippled hospital patients in half broken Hamas wheel chairs that most probably (unsure but can't trust those Hamas hospital patients) were fitted with armchair machine guns and RPGs (per 007 movies) .

I'm English and absolutley sick of the Polititions who are unable to see what is going on in Gaza, its a war crime.
The politicians protect their own. They can see what their fellow politicians are doing but don't really care because one day, they may just need a return favour from their fellow politicians from across the seas to do the same for them when they commit war crimes themselves. Basically, "I rub your back, you rub mine" - which is why they are totally ignoring the protests and demonstrations from their own citizens who they see as wielding little real power.

Firstly, we have a huge hegemonic superpower - the United States of America - that has a WAR ECONOMY (it never ceased being one after WW2 when all other countries switched from war economies to peacetime) that the industrial companies that form the infamous Military Industrial Complex (MIC) are incorporated into. These industries are pervasive throughout the U.S. economy today - that is, they can be found right throughout the entire country from Boeing to Raytheon to IBM to Mcdonald Douglas to Apple to Microsoft to Exxon just about every single U.S. industry manufacturing hardware or software. There is hardly ANY non-military involved business left in the United States today.
Secondly, the MIC depends upon threats of war and war to function and reap in those trillions of Government (taxpayers) funded contracts that are only generated through having external threats, conflicts and wars. Hence, it PAYS those companies to support rumors of wars, threats and wars and they will provide funding for any political party that backs them up.
Thirdly, rising officers in the Pentagon get to where they want when there is ACTION and action means being deployed to "hot zones". So, they would be in support of threats, conflicts and wars - all under the guise of "protecting the nation".
Fourthly, politicians have always found that they will get more support politically when there is some "threat" out there and they can tell the populace that "they and only they" can fix the threat by having more testosterone coursing through their veins than their next political opponent. By crying "Wolf", they get the attention they slavishly need and the support in the next election as the sheep instantly and instinctively runs to seek protection from the herdsman who yelled out the alarm loudest.
Sometimes, all of this, together with the CIA and self-seeking politicians would go out and create situations that would incite conflict and wars eg NATO expanding into Russia which set off the Ukrainian War, goading China with sanctions and creating tensions in the Taiwan Straits by sailing their warships through it incessantly, stirring up the China-Taiwan reunification issue, trying to set up a NATO head office in ASIA (!), flying warplanes and spy planes through Chinese airspace under the pretext of "weather surveillance", blockading Cuba for over 65 years from trade, supporting Israel in its invasion of Gaza and pouring funds and military weapons into conflict zones as though there is no end, establishing nearly 800 military bases around the world again under the pretext of "policing the world", sending clandestine troops into Niger, occupying Syrian oil fields, and on and on - one can go and list an entire encyclopedia of military mischiefs conducted around the world by the MIC.
So, in answer to your question, look into the United States of America and you will find what you are looking for.
