- The Olympics are right around the corner, and everyone is extremely excited. All the favorites are on offer, but auto racing continues to be spurned. Here is how I would set up racing at the Olympics, or simply an auto racing World Cup. I did a lot of research and a LOT of photoshop for this one.
Also, first ever 1080p render! I wondered if my computer could handle this, and thankfully it can! This is how it'll be done from now on.

Scott McLauglin is from New Zealand. Australian driver - Brock Feeney (hes got the talent to put a gt3 on second grid in bathurst in a one of drive - hes got the talent
...how could i make a mistake like this
Thank you for correcting me, I'll give this a pin.
I think Kimi and Leto could've been brought out of retirement for at least a couple seasons maybe even Hakkinen could give it a go, don't let old age fool you
And Holden is no longer a car manufacturer
AND WHERE IS WALES!?!!
Apart from that Seb Morris guy, they really don't have the drivers for a World Cup.
Yes, if Wales were to participate, Sebastian Morris and Jann Mardenborough would represent them.
You could probably consider Elfyn Evans too. I know he’s a rally driver, but Sebastian Loeb showed us that rally drivers can also excel at circuit racing.
This is such an awesome idea, just to see all these guys run out there in equal cars would be amazing. I love how you presented it and explained all your rationale. Earned a sub!
If Tsunoda got sick, Kamui always said, "Rubbing is Racing"
I’ve got an idea how about a championship that involves multiple cars (stock car, rally truck, rally, Indy, dirt.) covering all styles of racing.
Very cool to see a yank discussing current BTCC drivers, would love to see the likes of Turkington representing their country
I found myself down a rabbit hole of Super Touring era BTCC one night and then began watching clips of current-day touring cars from there. It's must-watch stuff.
@@Bobcat205 the racing is still fantastic, I'm going to Donington Park tomorrow for the season opener
we had that, back when A1GP was a thing.
Why tf has ur channel not blow up yet? Keep up the good work
I must have just hit a really good algorithm to find you. im no content creator but you have like your own vibe/style somewhat that I think if you compound on and refine you will blow up. great vids, very unique content
Here's my idea of a racing world cup: (no oval races or rally stages I'm afraid)
Pre-Qualifying stage:
The lowest ranked 40 nations will be divided into two group events every race weekend
2 weekends at Abu Dhabi & Dubai in February. Everyone will use a Ferrari 488 GT3 and compete in 3 races per weekend. 12 races will held in total, but every nation only does 6 races (every race only features 20 cars). An accumulative points table will combine everyone's points, where the highest 20 nations progress to the next stage: the play-off round. There will also be a ballot to determine which nation competes in every race to avoid the same nations racing the same nations repeatedly.
All races will be limited to 45 minutes, with no extra lap added.
Play-off stage:
20 pre-qualifying nations will join 30 chartered nations (UK, USA, Italy etc) in this round. They do NOT carry their points from pre-qualifying into this round.
Again, everyone races Ferrari 488 GT3s and divided into 2 group events per weekend. 6 races per weekend will be held, with everyone competing in 3 of them.
2 weekends at Magny-Cours, Morocco, Tunisia, Hockenheim, Brno and/or Kymi Ring will be held. An accumulative points table will decide the 22 nations who will progress to the championship round. One round will be held in May, the other in early August.
All races will be limited to 60 minutes, with a bonus lap included.
Championship stage:
22 highest nations from the play-offs qualify for the championship round. Everyone will now race a Dallara F2 car.
Points from the play-off will be carried over into this final round.
The championship round will consist of 5 races held over one weekend at a single venue. The weekend will consist of testing on Thursday and Friday. Qualifying for races 1 & 2 will commence on Friday afternoon, whilst qualifying for races 3 & 4 will commence on Saturday morning. Race 1 and 2 will commence during Sat afternoon, with race 2 reversing the qualifying top 10 order of race 1. Race 3 will commence on Sunday morning 9:30am, race 4 at 1pm. Race 4 will reverse the order of the qualifying top 10 grid of race 3.
Race 5 will commence at 4:30pm. This final race will have its grid order decided by championship positions and only the top 15 will be permitted to compete.
Indianapolis, Melbourne, Sepang, Mugello, Silverstone, Nurburgring and Spa-Francorchamps are prime candidates for this blue ribbon event. It will be held in mid-August.
Could put it together as the SIM racing thing.Perhaps question mark
Dang you need more views! Awesome ideas bro!
Was shouting for the Van Der Linde bros and glad they got picked, great vid well done.
Commenting for the algorithm. Loved the video
Kaz Grala would be eligible to run for Poland as their oval specialist; his father Darius was born a Polish citizen, and under Poland's jus sanguinis nationality law, Kaz is thus eligible for Polish citizenship too if he wants it.
Italy also miiiiight be able to snag Joey Logano for the same reason, depending on how many generations removed his family is, but I'm less certain about that.
Why dont we do The calander like: a Monaco, Le mans, indianepolis (I know This one was in There) suzuka
Kyle Larson. Easy W on his part
Romania would definitely have Dacia Renault lol
JAJAJJA ME MUERO RAFAELA. God i wish that track was in better state
The England lineup definitely should’ve been: Norris, Russell, Hamilton, and Button (or Chadwick)
Edit: Also WHERE IS ALONSO??
Alonso (and furthermore Russell) was excluded because I wanted to keep the disciplines diverse wherever I could. I didn't want too many reps for a country from one series/type of racing if I could avoid it.
The problem with a racing World cup (particularly when A1GP was a thing) is that drivers will treat it like how footballers treat international football: a chore.
Btw Kimi Raikkonen has not announced a formal retirement from racing, but Sirotkin quit after 2020. Pastor Maldonado is still racing, I think. You could pick Kalle Rovanpera for Finland and Ogier and Loeb for France as alternatives.
Honestly, your idea is very similar to the FIA Motorsport Games, but significantly more expensive. It's more likely the A1GP format will be used, but a much shorter schedule 📅
Holden doesnt exist anymore,
Poland-Honda?
I'd have expected BMW fir the memes of us LOVING the E36 and E46
How would you do pit stops? Indy style or with the larger crews of F1 or something else altogether?
Indy-sized crews. They don't need to be from that country either, since that would be incredibly hard. Not many people from countries like Andorra that are available....
Alonso no spain?
Uhhhh. Not hypothetical anymore thanks to the introduction of the FIA Motorsport Games back in 2019 so.....
Wouldn't a radical be a better race car for the competition
Here’s my take on this. Have the car be nascar next gen cup cars.
Have them race on road courses
Super speedways
Dirt tracks
Short ovals
And mile an a halfs.
Yeah I know the current short track package isn’t that great in all and there have been decent road course races.
Use the nascar points format minus the stages. What the hell was nascar thinking during the off season !!!!!
Add newcomer Ariel Elkin (usf juniors driver) for Israel. Up and comer for sure
I understand not including Lewis Hamilton on the list, but to include Jamie Chadwick instead ? She is not that good. Results show this.
Opel-Ferrari, unless you're somehow cultured enough to know the old lithuanian 'hood saying "Ubagų Ferrari" which means Hobo's Ferrari, an Opel Calibra, I can't really phathom why would Opel, a GM brand, get Ferrari engines. But all being said, w/ hypotheticals and stuff, it was a funny graphic to see and write this whole wall of text about.
The thought process was this:
>Opel was acquired by Peugeot in 2017
>Peugeot merged with Fiat-Chrysler to become Stellantis
>Forget that Ferrari was spun off from Fiat after they merged with Chrysler
That's how that happened. It was an honest mistake.
@@Bobcat205 2017? Damn, really shows my age. Still living in the past, remembering the rustbuckets of 1990's GM build quallity.
Circuit de Nevers aka Magny-Court has been dropped by F1 because it is literally in the middle of nowhere with little infrastructure around it, which usually made for very bad audience figures.
While that might be an issue, I was thinking about the on-track product first and foremost. Magny-Cours would give us a better racing product than what we've gotten from Paul Ricard these last few years, no?
@@Bobcat205 At least in F1 the races at Magny-Court were rather on the boring side, with the notable exception of 1999.
A1 GP but not shit? nice
