Hard to tell which one is better. The Firecam gives beter the color in the second part. Only the GoPro is sharper.. But not nice in the color.. Still thinking about the GoPro more then the FireCam..
Flying90 Maybe more fire testing. Testing on a 'campfire'. Training in a house / building.. How does they compare on "working" as a firefighter.. In the video you only see them standing still and capture the fire (for the screen quality!). But what will they do if you walk or run or somethings like that.. That would also be interesting. And what is better with heat :p.
+nodeal I don't recommend taking it too close to the front of a flashover simulator! If you check out my video with the GoPro in ours, at the end of the video it starts to red out, and it shut down from the heat. Come to find out, it expanded the case from the heat and killed the camera! But if you stay near the back of the container I'm sure it will be fine
I have used a go pro hero 8 on wildfires, thing overheats and shuts down extremely easy, runs out of battery way to fast, would not recommend using a gopro better off with the fire cam
The GoPro was just stuck on with a sticker. Deff wouldn’t hold up in a real fire! The firecam has a metal mount like a streamlight that clamps on the side
@@Flying90 I have both. Just bought a fire am. Very nice durable and easy to mount in helmet but the quality isn’t even close to a GoPro. Still trying to figure out how to do the GoPro on my coat
@@jonathonhinkle89 you can take some aluminum and make a mount, I have a flat piece with a 90 degree bend on it that the go pro is mounted on then I slid it in a radio pocket or another depending on your turnouts
the fire cam looked alot sharper on the resolution but the GoPro has better frame rates
i wanna see if the gopro hold it in a houe fire, or its gonna melt?

How hot do you think you could take the gopro up to? Could it survive a flashover simulator?

100%! Ive ruined a few GoPros thanks to the heat. I’m kind of surprised GoPro hasn’t made a heat proof case
