I have rock everywhere in my gardens! It is a main feature in my yard. I look for rocks and carry them into my yard. I've used my tractor to bring rocks in from all over my area...i absolutely love them!!!
@@YardCoach I absolutely agree! It's so natural and aesthetically pleasing if done correctly. I believe the ultimate goal with any space is to make it look as though it has always been there. Like it's nature and your the visitor there.
@YardCoach I like that "geological gold"! We do. I have old original walls at our homestead and a pile I've built. Ponds, gardens, walkways, oh ya we love our gold!
Depends what look you are trying to achieve. All natural lichens n moss look, spillers and creepers planted in between, or just plain bare. The last one is easier depending what scale of wall, retainer you have. You can spray, hand pull then treat with a or pre emergent spray or granule. If the first 2, you are relegated to hand pulling regularly for awhile and not allow seed to form and disperse, this reducing generational infestations. But if you have wind, sloppy neighbors or mow n blow gardeners it will be hard. Diligence and regularity wins the battle. Good luck. 👍🍀 Coach M.

It adds so much structure and depth and naturalization to any space. Thx LL for the comment.

"farmers excavate the stone to use the ground that's there" umm use the ground what for what type of plant? all i see is grass
This was originally farmland and orchard over 150 years ago. It is now a residence, but the walls remain. A lot of hard work back in the day.
