      @@anothereditingchannel2164 what an evil thing to say to someone. I cannot imagine what your family must be like to not know that they have hurt you badly enough not to see the damage they have caused you by not showing nearly enough love for you. Something must have made you feel so despicable towards the world. I hurt to think of how you must be screaming for the attention that you are probably not getting. They certainly don't care enough to monitor your internet time. I can't imagine how, either invisible you must feel or how abusively they must treat you. I have so much pity for you and hope that you can one day mature enough to know how much these feelings are hurting you.
      PLEASE talk to someone about your life! Do you have a teacher, a councillor or any other adult that you trust in any way? Please talk to SOMEONE about how much pain you are experiencing! I wish you peace above all else. I'm sorry for your pain.

    10:16 there were massive design flaws with the reactor as well. To be fair there would be not adequate protection for the radiation. The best they could do is have force air breathing devices that are fitted. Even them the amount of radioactive partials in the air would have gotten into the emergency crews. To stop the situation from getting worse people had to die. It is heartless to say but you barely cover the whole issue. The real danger was that the core was melting through the structure. They needed to cool the fissionable material down that was so hot it was melting through metal and destroying concrete. The real danger wasn't what had happen. It was that the Elephants Foot would have burned it's way down in to the water table and aquafer. If that happened the death toll would lead Ukraine and surrounding area with radioactive particles in the drinking water. The deaths that happened would have been a drop of water in a bucket.

    It's so sad about what happened in New Orleans. The levees were never ment to hold back flood waters from a hurricane of Katrina's class. They were engineered at the time to withstand category 3 hurricanes and Katrina was a category 4. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers didn't know that a hurricane of Katrina's type was even possible when the levees were built in 1885, hell we barely knew how to predict storms back then, much less to forecast any hurricanes. No radar, no satellites, the telephone was still pretty new, mainly telegraphs were the way most of the US communicated. And the levees were updated a few times since then, but never to the level that they should have been when Katrina hit.

    Great Video. However I disagree with your reason for the New Orleans disaster. You may see it as being caused by a levee failure. I see it as being caused by people building below Sea Level, next to the Sea in a Hurricane prone area. The chances of a levee in that situation NOT Failing are next to Zero. It wasn't a matter of IF. It was a matter of WHEN.

      @DByers-ci5kr 2 роки тому

      It's important to remember New Orleans was founded in the early 18th century. It was not below sea level at that time. Levees kept the Mississippi from flooding the city for centuries. Levees are utilized all over the world since most major cities are by a large body of water or river used for essential transportation. There have been very few levee failures statistically but they do require maintenance. Recent increases in sea level & topical storm occurrence & intensity are making the entire Gulf & Atlantic seaboard more challenging to protect. NYC is at very significant risk for severe flooding but moving it or surrounding it with levees is untenable. Larger US metropolitan areas not located on an ocean, lake or river are probably at risk from tornadoes & other severe storm damage. So where is an ideal place to build? All areas have some risk in this country. Wildland fires, drought & geothermal events are the greatest risks in the western states. Severe weather & flooding in the midwest & Gulf & Atlantic coasts. Maybe people will migrate back to the Rust Belt since the Great Lakes area presents some of the lowest risks from natural disaster.

    Before Catrina, I saw a special on TV about New Orleans and how it was so prepared for a hurricane.

    Between insufficient levy’s and the intensity of the hurricane, it all failed.

      There was a National Geographic video that came out about Cyclones in 1995 or 1996 that talked about when a hurricane would hit New Orleans. There was a meteorologist on there from New Orleans that made the remark that the levy system provided a false sense of security and that the city would become deep with water if the levies failed.

      His home was filling with water, falling apart, he was on the roof. Sees a log in the water and decides “This is it!” Grabs the log, and figures he’s safe… until that log slapped him with its tail! Dude grabbed a gator! After the storm, he and the gator were lying on a sandbar, and when rescuers found him, he asked them to grab the gator as well. He kept the gator as a pet.

    'Nitro-cotton' - otherwise known as Gun Cotton, still used to make smokeless gun powder for small arms as well as artillery. From around 1900 to the 1930's it was also the standard filling for torpedo warheads and continued to be used as a military demolitions explosive into WW2. It will explode even when wet - torpedo fillings were 'wet' gun cotton with a small dry booster that held the detonator. It was probably the cause of numerous warship losses such as the USS Maine, HMS Vanguard, IJNS Mutsu, due to poor quality or 'old' powder or just plain negligent handling.

But the U.S. and a lot of its states, including California (where the fire occured), are much much larger than Denmark. It cost a lot of money to go out and put the lines underground and take down the old ones. But on a better note, all new power lines in the states are being put underground:)

    This video shows the power of money and the greed of politicans. All governments around the world are run by greedy people, why do you think they want to work in government? Politicians use to work for the people but now a day, they only for themselves. This is the main problem with humanity, people had lost their moral. What happens to our pride, dignity and honor ? Humanity is worse than the animals they share this planet with. I guess now our young generation can see the true face of our politicians and governments and change or else they wouldn't have a future. We tell the world how much we love our children but we left behind a miserable and trash world for them. I hope they see how their seniors selfishness ruined the world and don't follow the old generation doing and make their world a better place than their predecessors. Remember, selfishness will lead to diminish, together will be unstoppable.
