Kabadi (another form is called "hadudu") always has been a traditional sport in Indian Subcontinent. People from Afghanistan all the way to Bangladesh play this game. Its has always been significant to considered national sport. Its a sport every villager would play in certain seasons on dusty, muddy or soft grounds. The epic also talks of the tragic death of Arjuna’s son, Abhimanyu, who was successful in piercing the ‘Chakravyuha’ or the seven-tiered defensive wall of the Kauravas during the Kurukshetra War but did not know the way out. Saying "kabaddi" isn't necessary now. There's just a time limit for now. Also I wouldn't jump in kabaddi with professionals like this. It's kinda like rugby
Thank you I was wondering why raiders weren't saying kabaddi, seems like a good change, a time limit can be enforced easier, than someone repeating words.
It still is necessary as far as I know. I remember last season a raider was given out for not chanting the word "kabaddi". (It was Mohammad Maghsodhlou if you know him.)
@@nikhildeodhar143 "It was Mohammad Maghsodhlou if you know him" Oh yeah I know him SO well it's not even funny. Sick of the man. He keeps coming around my house asking me out and I just keep telling him "no Mohammad I ain't gay you really shouldn't sacrifice your professional kabaddi dream for little ol' me". He leaves roses on the stairs and shit. The dude really can't take a hint... ^My bad couldn't resist. It's late and the question was pretty funny:P Well the game looks decently fun (minus the possible difficulties in judging if a touch has been made or not) but verbally repeating kabaddi is just silly and stupid and, again, makes it seem more like a children's game than a sport.
A massive kudos should go to Star Sports India for promoting this game like never before. The marketing and campaigning was amazing for the tournament. For the first time ever my family and I sat together to watch a sport other than cricket
And also to Anand Mahindra’s idea who made it equally professional like any other game. It was his idea to switch dirt ground with colourful mats, grooming players etc which in this current time where popularity go hand in hand with aesthetic, helped a lot to promote this game.

Iran beat india many times in past also won both men and women in asian games .
I hope India can invite us Sri Lankans to participate in their teams like IPL. We play this during the New Year.
May be u Shud start a k-league in SL like P-league of pak cricket(not successful) ....there are international pro-kabbadi tournament with international k-teams event sponsored by star sports,..apart from international kabbadi games/tournaments...
Kpl has some foreign players famously kim lee from Korea I bet there would definitely be some sri Lanka's also Only thing they won't have given chance to play which is sad though

@@abhaypatel4292 The most noteworthy mention of kabaddi, however, is found in the Hindu mythological epic, ‘The Mahabharata’. Legend has it that the Pandava warrior Arjuna picked up the skills of Kabaddi under the tutelage of Lord Krishna. He mastered the art of quietly sneaking into enemy traps and demolishing the fortifications without a single scratch on his body.
The epic also talks of the tragic death of Arjuna’s son, Abhimanyu, who was successful in piercing the ‘Chakravyuha’ or the seven-tiered defensive wall of the Kauravas during the Kurukshetra War but did not know the way out.
It is said that Abhimanyu learned the technique of attacking when he was a fetus in Devi Subhadra’s womb by absorbing his father, Arjuna’s narration to his mother. But Arjuna was called by Krishna and the conversation had to stop, depriving the unborn Abhimanyu the knowledge of escape from the deadly formation.
On the 13th day of the Kurukshetra battle, the 16-year-old Abhimanyu broke through the Kaurava formation in a scintillating show of valour and fearlessness. The teenager fought gallantly but ultimately was mercilessly killed by the enemy brigade as he could not escape from their iron clutches.Ancient scripts suggest that the sport of kabaddi was established in memory of the courageous fighter that Abhimanyu was.

@@ishanjha5010 Their is thousands of proof of Mahabharata it's not mythology it's history 🙏
Kabaddi was always more popular just that you guys came about it now!
@cITRIC ACId yeah because it's on TV everyday now
Yes
This IS the actual truth.
Yes most famous game here in rular area of punjab and harayana💪
It originated in southern india.. so nothing new 🚶
Whenever he says "kabaddi" he sounds like a he is saying "kabadi" ( scrap dealer )😂😂
Exactly
Actually it came tamil word kaipudi = Kai(hand)+pudi(hold)
It deformed into kabadi later 😂 naturally .
@@hunter-z4547 thats how words change with geography...
u don't say its deformed
Back in childhood for every indian kid this was a fun exercise
this looks so fun as someone from the Philiipines it reminds me of a game we used to play on the streets when we were young. I can see this going big in our country.
Block 123? xD
Kabaadi is a game invented by Punjabis not Indians
Mr Singh Punjabis are also Indians
True but this is too aggressive for what our traditional games we are used too 😂 😂 😂
patintero ba sir? haha
Good call. It made it sound like a gay child's game.
It still is necessary as far as I know. I remember last season a raider was given out for not chanting the word "kabaddi". (It was Mohammad Maghsodhlou if you know him.)
Except rugby is on grass, softens ground impact.
Tackled on here could be damaging.
Still keen to give this a go
@@nikhildeodhar143 "It was Mohammad Maghsodhlou if you know him"
Oh yeah I know him SO well it's not even funny.
It's late and the question was pretty funny:P
Well the game looks decently fun (minus the possible difficulties in judging if a touch has been made or not) but verbally repeating kabaddi is just silly and stupid and, again, makes it seem more like a children's game than a sport.
It is the national Game of Bangladesh
Irony . Ours is Hockey .
And also state game of telangana india
Why the f**k is hockey even an Indian thing lol,I hate that sport so much.Atleast cricket could have made sense.
@@AssassinYTLive because we were good in hockey when it declared national game
@@rozernaroha3169 we don't have any National game. It's a game
Don't show it to the Americans... They'll give it some weird name !!
Like soccer 😂
Example soccer Bruhh 😂
A massive kudos should go to Star Sports India for promoting this game like never before. The marketing and campaigning was amazing for the tournament. For the first time ever my family and I sat together to watch a sport other than cricket
And also to Anand Mahindra’s idea who made it equally professional like any other game. It was his idea to switch dirt ground with colourful mats, grooming players etc which in this current time where popularity go hand in hand with aesthetic, helped a lot to promote this game.
I wud be happy to play kabaddi with u.
