They usually sells a small bunch for around $4. After washing, I simply steamed them for less than 3 minutes. They were very tender and a little bitter. I like the bitter taste, they were so delicious. I finished them in 3 minutes.
I’m American, Italian decent both Parents. I cook it pretty much the same way. I cut it into chunks. It cooks faster and is easier to cook. I love it on rustic toasted buttered bread even for breakfast, cold out of the fridge. I like it with any protein. Italian sausage is perfect and you can cut sausages add a can of cannellini white beans, with broccoli rabe. My Father liked when I made it that way. Nice hardy and great in the winter months here in New England. Thank God it’s easy to find broccoli rabe here. When I visit my son in Florida, they never have it. No artichokes either. Best wishes ♥️♥️🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
Looks delicious Lidia , love many of your recipes ,would love to see a list of the wines you would enjoy with your Dishes , thank you , really enjoy watching your show :)
Oh I miss the food option in the northeast. Can’t find broccoli rabe in the south. No broccolini. No escarole. Not even Italian frying peppers. Once in a while, during the summer, you’ll see “cubanelles”. Only greens popular here is collards greens, which are really good. So live with memories and your lovely videos! ❤

I am 66 and I have never had broccoli rabe before. I think I would like to try this complete with sausage and wine.
I keep reading it has a bitterness that can be somewhat reduced by first blanching it.

I'm 70 miles north of Seattle and I've never seen Broccoli Rabe....not even at Whole Foods...
They do have Broccolini, however.
Here in Canada, we call it rapini. Perhaps that's what it is also called in Seattle?
@@Karim-so9jc Whatever they call it in Seattle, it's 70+ miles away.... I'm closer to Vancouver.
What is rabe?
