Consumers have the option to get theft and loss AppleCare or regular AppleCare. The price shouldn’t be lumped in together since they are both different things
I notice the Apple Store salespeople are overly aggressive into talking buyers into signing up for the apple-care. I had to literally tell the guy no like 4 times, he wouldn't stop his pitch.
I don’t like to use a case on my iPhone. I’ve replaced my entire phone multiple times and happily paid the $100 fee (iPhone 11 Pro) and $10/month. The hassle free experience keeps me paying.
The most anyone would pay for a entire phone replacement, under AppleCare if they damage their phone and it cannot be repaired is $99. Otherwise issues that are determined to be hardware based, with no software or environmental solution, and the device is not physically damaged qualifies for free repairs or replacements, if something isn’t repairable. You have the wrong information
@@chriskuczynskimusic34 i mean it was a) a joke and b) it's not a scam, you do get far cheaper repair prices for sure, but it's really only worth it if you're accident prone and i would say that it's 100% worth it for airpods because they're small and easy to damage. anyway, i don't work there anymore lol
Also worked at Apple and the number part is true. Since employees are not commissioned, their success is measured on AppleCare+ attachment rate. A passing grade is 50%
You’re completely missing over the other benefit of AppleCare, it extends the limited one year manufacturing warranty. A logic board failure or antenna issue can cost $600+ outside of the one year warranty. Customers think they don’t need coverage until they happen to have a hardware issue even after taking good care of their phone.
This video is misleading. He makes it sound like you pay $298 every time for a screen repair with AppleCare+. You don’t. You pay the one time fees for AppleCare+ ($199 for regular and $269 for theft and loss) and then $29 every time there’s accidental damage to the screen.
Thank you, I was wondering where that extra cost came in. I usually do monthly so it ever ends coverage at only $13.49 /month and $29 per cracked screen or $99 per more expensive accidental damages, otherwise it’s FOC for hardware or software issues not caused by personal damage.
Apple refused to replace magnetic leather link band (leather layers begun separating/pealing off) saying - this specific part of band is not covered by AppleCare+ warranty :-). Loyal customer, have spent 10k over last years on Apple products - we do not care!
Apple care is 100% worth the upfront cost - I’ve had numerous devices swapped out or had parts replaced FOC. In scenarios where’s been no physical damage to the device but a component that’s not repairable has failed and you don’t have apple care you’re paying for that. With apple care, there’s no service fee and far less hassle!
I dropped my AirPods in the lake on accident. Would the limited warranty I have on them get them replaced or would I have to purchase apple care+ in order to get a replacement?
@@rickybrown27 if you are still eligible to purchase apple care+ (if it's been within 60 days of your airpods purchase), then it would be slightly cheaper to replace I believe. The replacement fee is $29 and apple care+ is $29 as well. This is cheaper than the estimated $69 fee outside of applecare+ to replace the airpod
What I'm curious is how does Apple care come into play if you have an Apple device that becomes outdated, or its a 7 year old now broken iphone with applecare still being used? What would be the situation? Apple gives them a new older gen iPhone that they have, or they give them a new current gen iPhone?
I actually only got AppleCare+ because I just bought my first iPhone and want to switch to the 15 if and when it comes with USB C and other possible upgrades like a periscope zoom camera with a 5-10x optical zoom. With AppleCare you can exchange the phone after 12 months.
@@krow1503 I did call it the wrong thing. What I meant is that the only reason I got Apple Care + is that it came included in the Apple Ugrade Program. Otherwise I would not have gotten Apple Care +
You can’t factor the entire cost of Care+ into a single repair. If you have 3 repairs over the length of the warranty for example, the Plus coverage should be divided out by all 3 incidents. And NO, what REALLY matters for me is the peace of mind I get from covering all my devices with AppleCare+.
Honestly I have a good case and screen protector plus water isn’t that big of a problem cause it can’t survive under water i don’t worry until years later when the case and the adhesive begins to breakdown
Real contract - Your coverage includes unlimited incidents of accidental damage and two incidents of theft or loss every 12 months. Each incident is subject to a service fee of $29 for screen or back glass damage, $99 for other accidental damage, or a deductible of $149 for a theft or loss claim. Hardware service coverage begins after Apple’s Limited Warranty expires and does not have any deductibles. Technical support coverage begins after your product’s complimentary support period ends.
I keep my devices for years, so AppleCare would have me constantly buying new devices. I would imagine this is a good plan for those who never pay off their phones.
I’ve never put a case on my iPhone, from the 4 to the 5s to now the 11 pro, and though I’ve dropped each more than a few times I’ve never needed a repair. These days especially iPhones are pretty dang tough.
These aren’t the most important reason to buy it. Excellent phone tech support is the reason to buy it. When you combine this with replacement costs it is worth it for advanced users.
You are talking about iPhones. This is my story about Apple Care Plus for Macbook Pro M1Max with 4 TBytes SSD and 64GBytes of RAM. I bought this computer in Denmark to do video editing and color grading to my documentaries. I moved to Buenos Aires and working on my projects and suddenly the MacBook dead. I called Apple becsuse the Apple Care Plus I have will cover also in Argentina. I went to the official Apple Reseller which Apple told me to do. However, the looked at the specifications and said. “This is not possible because it is a custom build MacBook Pro”. In Argentina max SSD is 1 TBytes and max 32GB RAM. So they don’t have spareparts. It’s been ten years since I’ve broken a phone. That’s about 4 phones that I would have had to buy Apple care for. Physically, the phones are much more resilient than what they used to be. If you have a case and screen protector, your odds are that much better.
