Mother and daughter have beautiful smiles. Wonderful cooking skills. Olivia is always looking at her Mother for a smile or a nod of things being done correctly. Wonderful family. You’re blessed for sure. From cold and windy Michigan this morning.
Hey guys, Kenna from Australia here, I'm not much of a commenter but just wanted to say how much I love your content! The mix of homestead chores, project work, greenhouse gardening and cooking segment is bang on and I eagerly check my UA-cam subscriptions every day after 6pm to see if there is a new post from you guys. As I head into an Australian summer your transition into winter will be a great contrast. Thanks guys ☺️
Reading your comment, it makes me think of the global reach of this family's homesteading quest. They certainly create content that a lot of people (me included) like to enjoy! Where are you in Australia? In a urban area in a town or city, or a country place? Many of us 'Mericans could love to see your lovely country. My brother has been there to visit - two times - and brought back some lovely pictures. Take care!
Hey there, yeah we are so lucky in this day and age to be able to communicate around the globe so readily! I'm from a town in the bottom left corner of the country called Albany. I'd love to visit America one day but the funny thing is that it feels like it's an extension of my own country, as pretty much every movie and tv show I've grown up with, and now UA-cam channels is in America... 😂 all the best 👍
@@kennasutherland7876 - I just went to Google Maps and took a look at your lovely area. Very nice with the bay/harbor right there! Thanks for the shout-out! Take care and stay safe. 🖖
First off Gina, You deserve a really big round of applause for the workshop clean up, it looks mighty nice. Then you and Olivia make that big round of egg noodles/with home made fixin's. Just how versatile is that. The barn shed is looking great. It is amazing how those little strips of wood make such a difference. As for the hunting...it is fine by me. I don't mind people hunting for meat to eat...I just don't approve of hunting for the sake of a trophy. Have a Blessed day.
I live in montana and hunting is a family tradition. I hunt deer, elk, grouse, rabbit, turkey, squirrel, and just about anything else that provides good meat. if you chose to do a hunting vid i would most certainly watch just to see the forests, mountains and wild life in your area
Good mornin folks. We like the outdoors but are not hunters of animals. At our age, we spend lots of time hunting for spectacles, wallets, tv remotes etc.
Keith AndLinda Baldrey really funny 😂! I share your adventures! But we are also avid hunting and fishing folks. I must say the hunt for those elusive household items can be far more difficult and frustrating than the hunt to procure dinner!😂😂😂 blessings to you and best wishes to a successful hunt 👓🔑📱😁
Loving how your cooking segments are developing and adding more detail. I’m still pushing for Gina to have her own channel “Farm to table” with focus on gathering all of the ingredients from all the different places on the Homestead and showing how they are used. She seems to be doing more of that. You know most of us current subscribers will likely subscribe to her channel as well :-) One question… With so many salad fixings growing in the garden why not a fresh salad alongside each meal? I remember as a kid growing up we had some sort of salad or fresh vegetable plate such as sliced tomatoes and cucumbers with every single meal. Soooo good!
Hunting is the number 1 supporter of wildlife management... I think you would provide respectful content and perspective of why hunting continues to be an important activity in our society...
We source most of our protein through hunting. Hunting is a fantastic way to "raise " free range, organic meats. In my experience a lot of people who are adverse to hunting enjoy meat but have this misconception that hunters wound and maim every animal they take, not so! We go to great lengths and pass on many fine animals because we didn't have a clear, clean, humane shot. That is called ethical hunting or good sportsmanship. Just like how some farmers don't do justice to their animals, some do. I would love to see you promoting good sportsmanship and ethical practices!!!! It's absolutely NO different than harvesting animals you have raised! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
rifle hunting is the only way to hunt humanely, when the animal is hit it drops right to the ground(If you know how to shoot)! Bow hunting is most definitely INHUMANE. The animal is struck by the arrow and it seldom falls to the ground, instead it takes off in a dead run and slowly bleeds to death. The supposed macho man attempts to foll low the blood trail but quite often the animal is never found and dies a slow painful death. The so called hunter gives up the tracking and goes back to his camouflaged tent on his food plot, sprinkles corn over the plot douses himself once again in scent killer or doe urine, picks up his deer grunt and begins the hunting to repeat the same process over! Might as well hunt in a zoo!
Judy G. You are correct about not everyone having the ability/means to live our lifestyle. And again you are correct about people having grave misconceptions about where their meats come from. That is why it is great what homesteaders like Al and Gina are doing to help folks grasp the responsibility to grow/gather meat in a responsible, humane, ethical way. Al's animals have the ability to live a good life before they are harvested and so do the wild critters the GOOD hunters take. If we can help people understand that we the hunters aren't blood thirsty killers like is depicted in shows like "over the hedge" and Bambi (which we own and enjoy watching, 😂) In the end it all boils down to education and dispelling misconceptions. If you lived in our neck of the woods I would be happy to drive over to your apartment and give you an opportunity to join in a hunt if you wanted. I love taking people with who don't get the opportunity to experience what it takes to put meat on the table. It helps them appreciate the blessing of that meal all the more! Blessings to you!!! I enjoyed your conversation!
scott holman unfortunately some people behave the way you described but bow hunting is not inhuman, certain bow hunters are. I hunt with a rifle but I do own a bow. I don't hunt with my bow because I am new at it and not skilled enough too yet. The problem arises when people don't admit their shortcomings and hunt anyway even though they don't have the skill. Bow hunting is a very difficult and requires a greater amount of skill and knowledge than rifle hunting. It is something a novice should not be taking on without a good mentor who exhibits humane and ethical practices. It only takes one bad egg to sour the opinion of others but don't let them convince you that every bow hunter participates in such foul behavior. I know many that are fine examples of true sportsman. They don't make a habit of maiming and needlessly wounding animals. The animal is most often dispatched in exactly the same way as one taken by rifle.
Morning, Next week I'll be hunting Elk with my son in Aspen. Hunting is fine. I remember recently you showed us a day on the lake with your family. So, sure let's have a look at your hunting adventure.

Good morning! I do enjoy hunting with my brother and our sons. The best part is being outdoors and spending time together with ones you love. The deer are an added benefit. Thank you for sharing your adventures with all of us. Take care.
We hunt Whitetail Deer here in Va. I would love to see you do an episode on hunting deer, harvesting them, field dressing then butchering the deer. Although I have hunted 40 years, I might pick up something you do differently. Great work on the shed/barn. You guys inspire me! Have a blessed day! Thank you for sharing your life with us....
Good morning. I do like hunting and think going along on a hunting trip would be fun. I like going along when you take a trip to town or any other side trip. It changes things up. You have a great channel.
Good morning from Michigan. We hunt White tail deer here, we consider opening day to be Michigan's unofficial holiday. I know I'd enjoy seeing a good deer hunt on your channel. Also the new building is looking awesome, keep up the good work.
it is hard to watch any animals being dispatched but we must eat and the fact that it is a very hard job speaks to the heart of the person doing it. I should never invoke joy! IMO but with farm-raised animals and those from the forest it has had a wonderful life until that one quick moment and it was totally unaware!
Hunting is part of life for the homesteader and a part of life for a lot of us here in New Hampshire (like you!). I also leave my lumber to naturally age, I like the different colors/shades you get over time, when it finally turns grey, you have something!
I love the aged patina of the wood too. After about 3 years if I see areas that are getting soft, I’ll put on Thompson’s Waterseal which doesn’t change the aged look.
@J Glass 👍👍great stuff! And minwax Wood Hardener can give you years more if you have sponginess along some bottom battens and panels, and then Thompson’s over that.

Gina , save those empty egg shells, crush them up and then put them on the soil around the plants in the greenhouse and the outside raised garden beds . Plants love the calcium and plus it keeps the snails away from the plants
We absolutely love your video’s, don’t ever stop them or we will have an hour gap to fill and that’s not easy when you have been married for 55 years and now we are going into a lockdown again soon. London’s in one from today so we won’t even see our children or three of them any how the other two live along side us in Essex uk 🇬🇧 a few minutes away. I trained as a plumber and heating engineer as a youngster and ended up as a building site manager before I was medically retired and you would have been very wealthy over here your talent is endless. Keep up the good work it gives us hours of pleasure watching your family god bless you all.
Yes, a large part of the U.K. is currently under another lockdown. Wherever numbers of Covid are increasing, those are likely to be put under various types of restrictions. I’m in Wales, in an area that’s under lockdown & Welsh political leaders are trying to shut the border with England’s locked down areas to prevent further spread of the virus. Only problem is that Boris Johnson isn’t listening or agreeing!!
I would love to see you hunting. It's another thing that goes along with being a homesteader. It's a part of my life, and I enjoy watching it being a part of other people's lives. God bless you and your family.
PA is huge with hunting. So yeah, I would like to come alone if you go. Gina sure did make the scrap piles disappear and cleaned up really nice! She is a keeper for sure!!! The trim and strips on the shed barn really do make a difference on how it looks. Just gives that finishing touch and adds a touch of character. I like the look of the weathered wood too, besides once you paint, you always have to paint! Olivia is going to have such wonderful memories of the kitchen and homestead as well as great life skills. I so love seeing her working alongside of the both of you! The supper looked so yummy and I love that it was all homemade from foods from the homestead!
That was nice seeing Gina and Olivia making the egg noodles together. Thank you for sharing that. My mom died young so I missed those special times with her.
Good morning Guys l👀ks like the cold weather and trying to set in🌨🌬❄ stay blessed and healthy, I s👀lots of scrap fire wood, the build looks great, I've learned so much. 💞👍🙏
I don't know about anyone else, but my OCD thoroughly enjoyed the bit when Gina was tidying up. I wanted to see more haha. I don't know what it is about participating/watching someone clean/tidy/organize brings so many smiles to my heart.
I don't have a pasta roller but I always made mine by hand. I roll them out very thin. Roll it up and cut thin strips and then let them air dry before cooking them for dinner. The barn is looking nice. Hopefully the chickens will let you use it. Lol
Great video ...I binge watch you guys since I found, and subscribed to your channel!! Amazing transformation on your homestead starting from the beginning until now!!
I'm one for showing you hunting. I hunt squirrel, rabbit's, turkey, white tail deer here where I'm from. I would love to see your attempts. Gina great job in the workshop! Love the barn and the dark look is just correct for a barn like this. They say it may be rot but barns like yours have been up for 100's of year with unfinished board and batten siding and still are as strong as the day they were built. Can't wait to see how you finish this out. Maybe swing barn doors would look fantastic on black hardware. Thanks for the videos.
All those little finishing touches make your barn look great. Nice to hear you’re thinking sheep/cows down the way. I never thought of making noodles for spaghetti. They looked delicious!
Thank the Lord for the rain. Here in Vegas we are at almost 180 days with out rain, the monsoons missed us this year and it looks like a dry winter also.
I like Hunting, and Fishing, and Food preparation segments included on this channel. We have White Tail and Swamp deer, and Black Bear also from the swamp areas. Va. Beach, Va. While working on Back Bay Wild Life Refuge I was chased by a wild hog. Boy was that scary, I leapt into the back of our work truck at full speed. Saved!
Good mauhnin Lumnah Acres! Barn/ garage looks great. Love egg noodles Gina! Great to have help. She will always remember the times she spends with you cooking. Take care all!
A good morning all you fine people! Getting chilli in the mornings now but our fall colours are hanging in there. Oaks are turning rust colours maples are holding their own bright golds. Some are naked! Hunting here has begun as many Young. Native people are insuring the Elders have moose meat in the freezer for winter. Deer are beginning to move back down from the hills to their winter feeding areas, Bears are fattening up and the bear season is well over. Zone 5b here in 🇨🇦🇨🇦 and it's 53 and sunny this morning. One more flower bed to prep for winter then plant the garlic.. Have an awesome day. Great egg count!
Such a wonderful family. Gina you and Olivia looked like you were having fun making the noodles. Al I would love to see a hunting video. My dad and brothers used to hunt all the time. My dad is no longer with us and one of my brothers has cancer. My youngest brother still hunts and fishes. May God continue to bless your sweet family. ♥️ Oh yeah we have Whitetail deer here in North Carolina.
So cozy to see mom and daughter making egg noodles together! Thank you for sharing that! Your building is coming along so nicely - you are really good at building, Al! I would like to see some footage from hunting, too - have a nice week - and stay safe! Regards from Sweden!
Hunting is a way of life for us up here in Alaska. We hunt moose, caribou, and blacktail deer. I would love to see a hunting video in your neck of the woods. Love watching your videos Al.
Hunting is a part of your life- bring it on! We will be here enthusiastically looking forward to all your successes and even the disappointments that come along. 👏🏾👏🏾
New building looks awesome and a whitetail deer for the freezer would be some nice organic lean red meat. Always loved deer hunting the New England fall woods
I'm from the other side of the hill, The White Mountains that is, in central Maine. Almost everyone hunts in these parts so a hunting adventure would be great. Your new building project is coming along super fine. And, The cooking segments with the wife and daughter finishes off your videos so well.
Good morning Al, Gina, and Olivia! I used to hunt just too much walking for me now, but yes I live venison probably more than any other meet. And I would live to come along virtually with yoy on a hunt.
The chickens are giving their approval of the wonderful new garage. Y'all did a terrific job on building it. Can we have a hint on what the next project is going to be?
Gina looks so much happier these days. I remember when Al was going out to start the car and letting it warm up before she headed to work. Those days she looked like she was dreading having to drive to work in the snow/ice. She has really helped out in building the farm infrastructure the last year or so. Looking forward to the next “big thing”, but still watching to see how you will finish out the two barn stalls. Glad the nail mishap is healing OK.
Al and family, bring on the hunting. It's all part of the process of a homestead. It's almost snow season in your area, how about putting the finishing touches to your back door that's been laying around for almost a year... Well done and you have a beautiful family. Peace
I would love to see a hunting video Al. This was another great video. Thank you and your sweet family for sharin your life with all of us. God loves you all. God bless you all. ❤️
This was a great video. You covered so many interesting projects. I always enjoy the scenery from the house to the barn. So beautiful. I do miss the pigs. I love all your animals, and still hoping the ducks will return. Your family is so wonderful thanks for sharing your time with us. Love you and God bless.
Morning Al. You, Gina and Olivia are a beautiful family. Appreciate your love for your family, animals, a good work ethic and most especially God. Blessings brother. ☝️🙏🇺🇸💪👉...
Yes to showing you hunting, processing wild game. Obviously it would probably be a compilation video from several days of footage, maybe a Sunday/Wednesday extra video
Methinks you have a new cockerel on the Homestead! He's beautiful! I see him guarding his ladies and trying to find them the best treats. 😊 Will you still try to combine the flocks with two roosters? How about the name Jasper?
Your board and batten barn brings back memories of my grand parents vacation home in the redwoods of California. The interior was board and batten constructed by my great grand father, in the 1930's I believe.
The trim looks great on the post and beam garage, storage, etc...You guys have done a great job. Looks fantastic!! Thank you for sharing with us, all you are doing on the homestead! Plus...boy did those homemade noodles, sauce and meatballs look delicious. I love your atlas noodle maker. My husband got me a kitchen aid attachment for making a few kinds of noodles. Thanks for all you guys do, God bless!!! 💜
The trim work really does add the finishing touches, looking great, your attention to the details mean it will last longer and stay looking good. Gina either you or So could opt the design of that pasta dryer
Mornin Al, it's just more convenient for the chickens to drink the ground water since it's right there. I think it's great someone sent you a drying rack for the noodles. The garage/barn is looking good. Thanks for sharing and God bless..
The garage/barn is looking great. The battens add a lot to the character. I like the natural look too, although I would be concerned for the long run and not protecting all that wood and your labor. I learned noodle making from my grandma. she was a farm wife who raised her family of 8 through the Great Depression and two world wars. Pasta noodles are different than egg noodles being drier and denser. One egg per cup of flour and enough water to form a firm, non sticky ball, wrap in plastic and refrigerate for an hour. Grandma rolled all her noodles by hand, I use a pasta machine like yours. Grandma also mixed and kneaded her dough by hand, I use a food processor with the dough blade for pasta noodles, egg noodles I do by hand. Egg noodles 2 eggs per cup of flour and enough water to make a slightly sticky dough, again wrap and refrigerate. (This step gives the flour time to hydrate. It gets wet in the mixing but has time to absorb that water during this rest.) Notice no milk, this is the first I've ever seen a noodle recipe that called for milk over water. Noodles are a basic food and were an economical way of putting more food on the tables of large families, milk was too precious for making noodles. I roll out my egg noodles by hand but typically leave them thicker for use in pot pies, (not your Swanson's baked in a crust pies, real "pot" pies made in a stock pot.) though they would roll out nice through a pasta machine. Grandma used her folding clothes rack for drying noodles, plenty of room and easy to store.
As you will need to have some early morning and late nights in the garage I would say to order a few LED lights to put in the bays and run a line or two off the building next door to power them. 1 for lights and 1 for a few outlets will mean no running extension cords between them for you to hit with the mower or snow plow.
We don't hunt but we have a friend who does and passes venison to us. It is bow season in Texas at the moment and he just got a spike. So good. J Giles
We had Hurricane Laura little over a month ago and just had Hurricane Delta come through where I live in Louisiana. Our state has taken a beating in less than two months. Pray for our state as we recover from all the damage.
I'd definitely watch you if you go deer hunting. Venison has the best taste if you know how to cook it. Nothing better than a small deer roast, gravy and rice. The color of those eggs are just so pretty.
We have white tails here in Virginia also. Always get a couple each year. but we cut it into 2" cubes and dry can it, use in soups or in crockpot with bar-b-q sauce . Canning it takes the wild taste out of it. Pretty good on a cold winters day.
Hunting - Yes! Like to see several videos - prep, weapon(s), gear, stalk or blind, kill and dressing out. This will make the link between hunter/gathering and farming.

Looking awesome and I agree with you on not painting the wood I love how natural wood looks it beautiful thumbs up my friends thanks for cleaning up the shop Gina you are priceless so are you Olivia so so so very Proud of you the main reason why we love ya'll is all of you are so happy with all you have and mostly is your love for one another I'm extremely Proud of ya'll stay perfect please
Gina , save those empty egg shells, crush them up and then put them on the soil around the plants in the greenhouse and the outside raised garden beds . Plants love the calcium and plus it keeps the snails away from the plants
I'm so glad Olivia loves helping in the kitchen. So many kids now days don't know how to cook and all.
Thanks. Sorry to hear that your going back into lock down in London
Good morning Al, Gina. Have a blessed day! Hunting would be great for me. Love all that all of you do!
I love watching you build and the special attention to detail you give everything.
That was nice seeing Gina and Olivia making the egg noodles together. Thank you for sharing that. My mom died young so I missed those special times with her.
I hunt, for good sales...
That rooster resonates nicely in the new garage/barn.
I am touched when I see the prayers before the meals. Thanks, guys, for a great channel! God bless...
Would love to see the hunting it goes hand in hand with being a homesteader.
Yes I would definitely like to come along and see when you go hunting
Yes to hunting.
I don't have a pasta roller but I always made mine by hand. I roll them out very thin. Roll it up and cut thin strips and then let them air dry before cooking them for dinner.
The barn is looking nice. Hopefully the chickens will let you use it. Lol
I'm afraid to make my own noodles as once I ate them, I'd never want store bought pasta again. Your noodles must be heaven!
Corner trim and door trim for me today again. 39oF over here today. Fundy Bay keeps us warmer😊. Your barn is looking great. ❤️
Anything you'll do is awesome! I just love watching your world through you'll eyes! So let's hunt! Love and zen hugs from Texas!
My hubby LOVED that you used your torch to start the fire, cuz that's what he ALWAYS uses ;)
Good morning, lovely Lumnahs! I'm loving that trim, too! Not long to go before the big reveal on the next project, eh? Can't wait! 😃
Oh yeah we have Whitetail deer here in North Carolina.
So cozy to see mom and daughter making egg noodles together! Thank you for sharing that! Your building is coming along so nicely - you are really good at building, Al! I would like to see some footage from hunting, too - have a nice week - and stay safe! Regards from Sweden!
Good job Gina cleaning up the wood in the workshop/ Garage, Wow everything from the homestead for dinner.
Thanks for posting and sharing. It’s a real joy and pleasure watching your videos.
I love watching you build, you have a nice family ♥️🌸♥️
Wayching al work. So great. When he says "bam" so darn cute. Does awesome job.
I think I prefer cooler weather to the heat too! Aw good to see mum and daughter cooking in the kitchen together ☺️
Peace
Chilly weather is the best. Fall and winter weather means fire in the fireplace and hot toddy's. :-) And yes, please take us along on the deer hunt.
I love seeing your new flock of chickens roam around your homestead 🐓
☝️🙏🇺🇸💪👉...
Good morning. Great build and Good fresh eats and a awesome family.
Definitely yes to the hunting videos. I don't hunt anymore, but we have Moose, Elk, Whitetail, Muley, black bear, so lots to choose from.
Absolutely love hunting. I watch Born and Raised Outdoors. I can't walk too far but I sure enjoy their videos.
The new Barn shed came out looking great, Good Job Keith
As you will need to have some early morning and late nights in the garage I would say to order a few LED lights to put in the bays and run a line or two off the building next door to power them. 1 for lights and 1 for a few outlets will mean no running extension cords between them for you to hit with the mower or snow plow.
Hunting and fishing are always great times even if you do not get anything. Much better when you do wish you good hunting.
We don't hunt but we have a friend who does and passes venison to us. It is bow season in Texas at the moment and he just got a spike. So good. J Giles
Love watching mother and daughter (dress in pink) enjoying making noodles together
Exactly! I thought it was a wonderful heart-warming scene working together and laughing as they created those yummy looking noodles!
Love to see your hunting!!!
I would watch hunting. I would not prefer them over your regular homestead videos, but I would still enjoy them.
Get this done while the weather holds. Remember last year when you waited too long to move the chickens. Grrr..
A big yes on the hunting from me. Here in Michigan we have white tails and elk to hunt in the deer family.
Hunting - Yes! Like to see several videos - prep, weapon(s), gear, stalk or blind, kill and dressing out. This will make the link between hunter/gathering and farming.
Deer hunting brings back sweet memories of my Dad.
We love egg drop dumplings in chicken soup. We used to make noodles, but it's very time consuming. Your dinner looked delicious.
Now it's Gina Glitter!
Thanks Olivia!
☮
Always love watching a good hunt and picking up new tricks if possible !
