Tony I cannot stress enough just how much I appreciate the knowledge I've gained by watching your videos. You've managed to create an invaluable resource and contribute educational and WORTHWHILE content to this world. I couldn't possibly be happier for your lifestyle change and dream job knowing how much work you put into your site and videos, often operating at a loss. That kind of dedicated commitment is rare these days. Even if you never make another video you should be satisfied knowing there are those of us who took notice and will not forget your contributions.
I agree with him 1000 percent Tony, you were so instrumental in me trying other tape formulations, but you are also correct that these tapes are extremely expensive.
Just got into cassettes, and Tony’s channel has served as an invaluable treasure trove of knowledge, Thank you for educating me and other younger people on this timeless audio format. Every video is an absolute joy to watch, cheers!
Between yourself & Techmoan I have been able 2 experience cassettes like never B4. It's always a pleasure when a new video from U pops up on my feed. Thank U.
I especially love putting on a Xmas cassette, my kids enjoy to flip the tapes too. Cassette tapes and VHS will always be a part of my home. Thanks Tony!
Thank you Tony for everything you are doing to keep this format alive. In the 90's and early 2000s for us in Eastern Europe (Romania in my case) RAKS was the TDK of the poor. 😀 I still have almost 300 recorded RAKS different models like SD-X, ED-SX, HD-XI, ED-X, SD-S.
Hi Tony! I was very happy to see you. I can't imagine you without Dragon and Revox. Don't lose your joy! We all love you! I will not give up hope that your recorded single "Embrace the Chaos" will become available.❤
I just bought a 2004 used car, with 40,000 miles on it. The most exciting thing about it? It still has the original OEM cassette player! I can't wait to listen to my cassette collection on the road! Whether cassettes ever make an actual comeback or not, I'll always be a cassette fan! ALWAYS!
It was though stumbling upon your videos that I rediscovered my love for cassettes. Living in lanzarote I couldn't buy new old stock cassettes, but your store shipped here and allowed me to gain a nice collection that I enjoy. And then there was RMR and villarosso.Thank you for all you have done. And well done on the life changes. 👏
Cassette Tapes and Tape Decks is for the old head hobbyists who's got some spare dosh....I have loads of top classic recorded tapes and blanks one's and like you I ain't getting caught up in any silly ebay prices for any audio tapes...your channel as always been a great channel for classic memories with audio tapes...you have a great Xmas and good for you on the lifestyle change.
I don't blame you, such a shame B&W stopped servicing them. The expensive decks sound great but big money when they go wrong. Thank you for the new video and have a good Christmas.
Nice to see an update vid from you. "I'm still a man, before you start anything" actually gave me a good laugh :D The view on the state of cassettes is very realistic, even I've stopped stashing lots or trying to find any sealed tapes at a price that's not absurd.
I am 15 years old. And more than 1 year ago i found my dads old box of cassette tapes. I was like. Wow.. cassette tapes.. interesting. I played every single one in a sharp boombox. I didnt knew that mutch about tapes yet.. so i started looking your video's. i just like the many types and brands you can collect. And it spins! I went a few times to the cyclestore where they sold cassettes for only €0.50 cents. No matter what brand or type. I even found a metal tape for €0.50. i als managed to get a AIWA XK-007 exelia for €150 on marktplaats (Dutch ebay idea..) after replacing the belts it worked! And Wow cassettes sound amazing.. but even without sound ill be enjoyed by the machines to play a cassette. I like your video's. Thanks for the great reviews. You gave me great tips.. "a good deck makes the difference"
Im trying.. other people think why cassette tapes when i can listen to Spotify or UA-cam.. a lot of cassette players are broken and must be repaired. I like to buy decks and repair them. But i dont see a lot of people doing that much work to listen to cassettes.
I have a very similar story to you. Found my fathers old aiwa, and listened to all the tapes he had. Instantly fell in love with cassettes, and this channel taught me so much of what I know now. Its not just nostalgia, there is a certain magic to the tactile feeling of playing and recording cassettes.@@sussebeest
It's so cool! I've recently gotten my hands on a dual cassette player which is in need of some TLC, which I have every intention of fixing up to the best of my capabilities. I'm fresh out of luck if I need to solder, though.
The journey was always the best. Now, towards the end, we can look back and remember. I own tapes you sold and recorded on for RMR. A few pure chromes found a new home thanks to your store. Glad cassette comeback and RMR survived in some way here in North America. Mirrorgate Media is one I am keeping a good eye on to buy some tapes or disc's. May you do well in your new life, you have inspired a portion of my generation, me included. To work with cassettes in this ever enclosing era of streaming. They have been my out for paying lots of money for dozens of albums. Well this was a wall of text, I'll end this by saying tank you for allowing me to aquire tapes with ease.
Thanks for all the wonderful content through the years and I hope everything continues to go well for you, also you are looking great. Sadly nobody has or I suspect will ever make a good Cassette deck again so it can't ever really make the comeback we would all enjoy.
Thank you for your wonderful channel, I really enjoyed binge watching your videos a few months ago and love your honest, candid, no BS style. All the best.
This is a great Christmas gift ! Thank you Tony . 🙂 Glad to see you're getting healthy and shedding those extra pounds. You look great buddy. I immediately noticed the weight loss upon seeing you. Your hobby room looks freakin awesome too. Thank you for all the previous videos you've made over the years. This is a great niche hobby. It was never gonna get big like records have become. However, people like me and you, and you're TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND PLUS subscribers are into it and like it. So your not gonna get rich off of it. So what ! I say enjoy it for what it is. I know you're not gonna make vids as frequently as before. Maybe every 3 to 4 months would be good enough. If your so inclined. Anyway sir, Merry Christmas to you and yours and thank you again for the new video. You rock bud !! 🎅👍
I'm glad that you're doing good in life with your dream job been watching your channel for 3 years thank you for teaching us all about cassettes I'll definitely stay tuned 💯 for upcoming content and I still record on cassettes myself just love doing it keep I'm 21 years old
Hi Tony I've been following your videos for a few months, your enthusiasm for the world of cassettes is super cool but unfortunately we live in a time where the younger generation is not the physical medium. I love audio cassette I have 1 nakamichi, 2 kenwood kx-9050S, 1 sony tc-k71, 1 pioneer ct-s610. j I live this passion every day. Continue to pass on your passion to us, we are cassette geeks and we keep alive this audio medium that is so pleasant to listen to.
Tony you're looking well. Might check out those people you mentioned. Congrats on your new job at *ahem* Bentley. I always enjoy your content however frequent you put it out there. It's just a pity it hasn't been more profitable. The prices are getting ridiculous. I can't even put into words how grateful I am that you have given so much personal time over to this channel. You are loved by your fans
Thanks for all the videos Tony. Really enjoy them. Been loving cassettes since the 1970s. Very smart unloading your decks when prices are through the roof for those. I love my mid range decks. Easier to work on and sound great.
Thanks for all the videos Tony. I've said it before and I'll say it again, literally your channel has helped me a ton when it comes to getting into cassettes, so that part where you mentioned your channel being like a guide for younger generation is holding true at the moment. lol. I'm glad to hear everything is still going well on your end, if not better than before. Hopefully the upward trend for you keeps going for you. :)
Good to see you back Tony. Thankfully I have a full drawer of as new TDK AR to keep me going probably for the rest of my life. Speaking of decks though, I have a fairly basic Yamaha deck, which sounds about as good as my cds. So proof that you don't need top level decks for good sound.
Hi Tony, first of all thanks for the great videos! I have followed them with great interest. Great that you have worked hard on yourself and that you are making progress! And now hold on!! I have been a big fan of cassettes since the 1970s. I still use cassettes even in the car. But unfortunately, as you indicate, new decks are no longer being made and will never happen again, unfortunately. Fortunately, I still have my 6 Pioneer decks, 3x CTW806D, CT-670D, all toys compared to my fully serviced Pioneer CT-900S haha. For a while now I have 2 PCM/WAV recorders from Tascam (SD-20m) and Denon DN300MKII. Well, honestly... they sound much better than cassettes, are easier to record and edit, etc... but it's still not the same as tape. I wish you wonderful holidays and a very healthy 2024! I hope that a new video will be posted every now and then. Greetings Erik from the Netherlands.
It's amazing how often I prefer the tape sound to the source. I think the slight background hiss makes it sound more open. Anyhow, thanks for all the vids Tony and I'm glad you're leaving them up. They are a valuable resource for us all to dip into now and in the future. Best of luck with whatever life brings you.
Congratulations Tony on your new job and lifestyle changes. Thankyou for all the effort and cost you have invested over the years, really appreciate it. Great video, i have come to the same conclusion that a good type 1 cassette in a good deck is hard to beat. I still have my CR7 and will be keeping it, I am fortunate that i can service and repair it myself. Hope you and family have a great Christmas and New Year. Cheers
I own more blank cassettes thanks to Cassette Comeback than I recorded on in the 70s to 90s lol. Many, many thanks in helping to breathe life back into this legacy tech that we all love so very much. Merry Cassettemas Tony and seasons greetings to the Villa family.
I don’t owned the Nakamichi deck, because they’re too expensive. I only have my Technics RS-B11W cassette deck and still works, except the recording was running way too fast, but I had to hit the side to get it running to normal speed.
Hey Tony! Just wanna say thanks for all your effort and awesome videos over the past 6 years. I have always jumped at watching your videos whenever you uploaded a new one. It’s because of you that I got back into cassettes as a hobby, and now have a massive collection! It’s sad when you finally come to the realisation that cassettes are not making as bigger comeback as vinyl, but I think in the back of my mind I always knew that would be the case. Nevertheless, I will still be using them for as long as I can. I love the sound of cassettes, and always will. Look forward to seeing more videos in the near future. Take care and have a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year! 😊
Thanks again tony and glad to hear you're doing good! That is my absolute favorite fuji dr and I find they look and record much better than the newer transparent slimcase versions! Merry christmas!
Thanks Tony, I like you decided to sell two decks earlier this year, a Teac Z6000 and my Nak CR7 for exactly the same reasons. I’m keeping my Sony D6C though as it’s too cute! Really liked your videos over the years. Top guy. Cheers!
Not that I'm mad but I never thought you'd sell the CR-7 or the Revox. Just because you seemed to like them a lot (and used them a lot in the videos). I don't know what decks like this sell for but I can understand your motivation in selling them now and not having them around until they break and loose massively in value. We'll never know, but it could have been decades of use before they break. Or one of them might break tomorrow. Only four minutes in but I'm listening. Thank you for all the information and entertainment you provided for us all these years. If there's more videos to come, I'm gonna watch them. Have a very nice Christmas 🎄
Superb video, good to see you are looking after your health as well .Those tapes all sounded great the aiwa really is a great all round deck .i have often used your video,s to see just how good some tapes i know nothing about are .
I am glad to see you again😊. Sorry for your NAKS, but you are right. They need educated service and that is costy. Never had an Aiwa deck, just walkman. But it sounds really good and can calibrate👍. Stay healthy and please keep on making videos. Cheers from Germany
I felt back some 4-5 years ago when you were bringing Cassette Comeback to us, that it would take someone like Sony to invest millions to get the format up and running again. We all got carried away somewhat, but to be honest - it's no loss, nothing probably ever returns in the same way. That's nature in the bigger picture etc. Well done Tony on losing the weight - good for you sir!!! I'm well chuffed, health is everything! :o)
I used to love buying NOS Type 2 . I wanted to stock up for my 4 track recorders . I'm so glad I started before the "comeback" . The resellers got info that there was a demand for cassettes and prices skyrocketed . Type 2 used to be $3 to $5 and now I'm seeing $7 to $10 + . The general sellers at flea markets are even asking $5 to $7+ . And who knows how the tape was stored . It was fun when cassettes were cheap cause IMO they are a cool analog source of sound . From the cheap to the type 4 that rival CD's . I always liked recording my music on a 4 track and getting that sound . Even 4 tracks prices got out of hand . I can see paying fair retail if the machine has been serviced ,but folks are asking top dollar for untested . This is why the cassette comeback is probably done . Cost too much money . Finding places to fix decks is becoming impossible . Especially if you live nowhere close to a major city .
That's it. I hoped for a "comeback", but it hasn't happened and what's left is mostly in the hands of people whose only knowledge lies in how much they can charge for them.
7:27. Well The Number One Reason Cassettes ARE Popular Today IS You Can Listen To What ever you want in privacy. And It's not your phone. You can make Cassettes and aren't having to pay streaming for rest of your life they sound warmer can make proffetional equalized recordings and mix tapes all things you really can't do digitally
You have brought back some forgotten joy to many people here. I was cassette enthusiast for majority of my life but since old gear is slowly dying out and good new one is not available anymore i have phased out this hobby. Still have some NOS cassettes , just for old time sake. I am happy that almost everyone is selling new vinyl nowadays. Even older ones are reissued. At least something to have with a ´´soul´´. Thank you Tony 🙌👏🤝
Hey Tony. It's great to see you back and happy to know you've been on a good road. You look better and you sound better (your breathing sounds like it's improved from past videos). Thanks for all the knowledge you've shared in your videos and thanks for never stooping to spouting bullshit. You keep it real. Cheers!
Tony because of you (and Techmoan) I've got back into tapes and taping, culminating in the purchase of my beloved entry-level TEAC V-16 (boxed, new old stock) last March. Your videos are inspiring to say the least and you've taught me so much. I'm now the repository for my mates who have old / new tapes they wanna' get rid of. On Xmas eve I was gifted a box of 12 sealed TDK AR90s and to be honest I feel like a millionaire ! Good luck and best wishes for 2024.
Totally understand about the Naks, that’s something beyond what I can afford unless I sell a kidney, I’m still grateful to have a technics RS-b555 the technics decks are some of the best playback decks for recorded tapes, at an affordable price
The RS-B555 is a great direct drive deck for playback and archiving, I also have one. If you come across a 3-head version for a reasonable price, like RS-BX626, don't hesitate to buy it. It makes so much more fun and so much better results recording on a 3-head deck. I only miss the level calibration and cal tone generator features from my BX626, that's why I usually use my Sony TC-K511S for recording. I also have a TC-K711S but that is waiting for a repair. I wouldn't really recommend the Sony 511 because its mechanism very often develops a fault that is practically unrepairable without designing and machining new parts for it, namely the plastic housing of the capstan bearing cracks and the bearing becomes loose. The 711 lacks this issue as the bearings have brass housing in that one, and overall the mechanism is a lot better, although also a lot tougher to service, even a belt replacement takes a lot of fiddley work on it.
Hi Tony congrats on the lifestyle changes, you're looking good! I agree the cassette comeback was never going to happen like vinyl because vinyl never completely lost the player and disc manufacturers or DJs. Thank you for your part in keeping cassettes alive. I suspect cassette will join 78rpm shellac in being a small but dedicated community. All the best.
I've always struggles with ageing 3 head decks. I've made my peace with 'feature rich' 2 headers, Yam KX-530, Nak CD2, Nak DR8, Technics RS-B655, all great sounding reliable amd fairly cheap.
Glad to see you in good health mate! Some decks are worth saving. If you love it, you feel and find it worthy, you can revive any deck out there if you can find a tech to do it. Glad to see you healthy mate, I am not the only one who cares about you! God bless you! Happy Christmas!
Hey Tony!, So good to see you back, and thanks for the update on your status. Quite a nice bunch of cassettes from Tony Cruz. I personally supplied him with the "II Cool" type II cassettes, and we are anxiously awaiting your evaluation on these cassettes. Give them the sniff test also--they smell a little waxy! Please, please keep up the videos. They are the best!
By far the best cassette channel out there, bought quite a bit from you, SKC AX's, ICM super ferro, Standards' Schneider LN 60, Scotch High Energy Super ferric, BASF LHD, the list goes on. looking forward to the next video, but I doubt anything will come. I learnt a lot from your content &still use cassettes today, Though my decks are far from high end, I still get to appreciate physical media
Awesome score! I do have the BASF Ferro Extra I cassette with the J-card which was original with the cassette itself was Saehan made, the later BASF Ferro Extra cassette has different wrapper, different J-card and the cassette itself is the same. The TDK DS-X was the US version of AR, but I used to have it back in the day.
Over the last two years, I was scooping up what I could while the 'market was soft'. But then I began to realize...it wasn't coming back. Nothing's really moving. I'm finding deals way to easily. I mean, rare models will retain their value for sure...but once the rest of the kids give up on the format fad, it's back to just a few few of us old lunatics left. Right now, I'm scooping up as much nos tape as I can, because once it's gone, it's gone....and the ones out there are starting to deteriorate. I just had to toss out 20 1990 Sony HF 60's (2 boxes of 10). The tape was completely shot. 1990 is pretty young for Sony tape...or any tape really. So...we are really just gambling with little time left. Tony, you're right. The cassette comeback never happened.
Tony - I couldn't agree with your final sentiments more! No names mentioned..😆😉 I believe the Fuji you demoed in the video came vicariously through me from Tony at cassette comeback.
We had WX909 while I was growing up and i ended up finding one NOS on rBay some years ago. It needed work despite being NOS, but its one of the few decks in my collection that is always working.
Hey there, I'm only 15 years old and obviously I wasn't born in time to be a part of the cassette age but I've just been getting into it, and your channel has been a very valuable source for me to learn and try it out for myself. Just wanted to say thank you for all your effort and best wishes from SEA.
Merry Christmas, sir. I understand a change in lifestyle and I applaud your accomplishments. Cassette tapes are great and decent fresh ones worth a damn are extremely rare. And we shall skip new cassette decks altogether because 14 million people aren't clamoring for quality decks that record when a strictly playback deck might be the answer. Tàke care of yourself, sir. Later!
Great to see you back Tony, a Christmas present with one wise man. It's good that life is turning out good for you. Asked my brother a few months back if he's still got his tapes (mainly TDK & SONY 80s early 90s) he said he had got rid a few weeks earlier. 😥
I recently discovered your channel and have been enjoying your laidback style of presentation and recalling the tapes from back when I started in retail. I've recently bought a quality refurbished Sony cassette deck and some tapes! Also discovered an original TDK SA90 (c1990's) in a box in the loft which I recorded at the time using a Marantz CD63MKIISE, Arcam Alpha 5 Amp and a Yamaha KX580 ( I think speakers at the time were a pair of Monitor Audio, cannot remember the model though). Look forward to your next video.
Tony, I don't care what kind of video you put up. I'll watch them. You're a very interesting character! Good for you on your fitness journey and keep it up brother.
My deepest respect for you❤ You will remain the best, whatever happens🤣👍🏻 And Totally agree on all the self promoting CRAP on yt🤮 Love your honesty💪🏻💪🏻
How can you say cassettes aren't making a comeback? Today I can go online and I am spoilt for choice of vintage NOS cassettes and even restored decks. People can enjoy to this day the charm of the analog media with vintage and modern music, digital mastered and lossless files. The first medium capable of empowering the masses of doing so. So if you feel you can't continue to lose money on making videos, rest assured it wasn't for nothing. Cassettes have definitely come back and they're here to stay. I respect your choices, your videos have been inspirational to many.
Thanks for all of the videos, Tony, and congratulations on the new job and the improved health. (And thanks very much for the Forrest Gump chocolates comment - even when I first saw that as a kid I was driven mad by that stupid line for that very same reason, but I've always been surprised by how few people similarly took issue with it.)
Tony, you have given this old man a great deal of insight into Type 1 Ferrics that back in the day i wouldn't have given a second glance. First time hearing the TDK DXS tape, quite remarkable. Very glad to hear you are well and feeling great. Its really amazing how much better a person can feel with just losing 5 or10 lbs. It takes will and tenacity to cut out the stuff that we like that is bad for us. Merry Christmas to you and God bless ya mate!
Certainly the Nakamichi Dragon would be risky to hold on to given it's one of a kind heads and complex tape transport mech. However, I don't think I will get rid of my other Nakamichi decks. There are still a lot of Nakamichi experts around the U.S. and Europe. That and I tend to work on my own stuff. I could not imagine owning more than a few decks if I couldn't do maintenance myself. After almost 10 years into the cassette tape renaissance, no one has produced a competent transport, Record Playback heads or stellar type I or II new tapes. A true comeback likely won't happen. It's a lot easier to build a turntable than a tape deck, that and high level turntables never went out of production. No matter. I have all the equipment and NOS tapes I could ever use in 5 lifetimes. I still buy NOS tapes from time to time. I just purchased 7 NOS Sony UX-Pro 90 tapes last week. They weren't exactly cheap but given that I don't record every single day, I can splurge once every month or two.
I don't need a top of the line Revox or a Nakamichi dragon! I want that Aiwa deck! I wish I could find one. That Fuji tape sounded absolutely stunning!
I'm very glad to have found your cassette videos Tony, they're a superb resource. 👍to leaving them up. I got keen on getting back into using cassettes just before you started making these videos, but I didn't know you were doing them. My interest waned a bit when I realised I didn't really want to go through the faff of calibrating a 2 head deck for all the different tapes I might use, and I didn't fancy the 3 head Nakamichi prices at the time. Ha! If only I could buy a CR-7 at 2018 prices now! What I've learned from you, in the space of a matter of days, is just how useful a 3 head deck is if you want to make a good recording. Like you, I first got into tapes in the early '80s and I'm pleased to say I've still got all the ones I made back then. And even though I picked up 4 nice 2 head decks on eBay back in 2018 (planning to try a few, and keep my favourite), I only really appreciated how good tapes can sound for the first time this week. And you did that. Your videos showed me the impact of tweaking the bias settings on a 3 head, which prompted me to get my Dad's 3 head Yamaha out of its box, and record a high quality source on a D90. And I was absolutely gobsmacked. What I love about cassette is that when I play some physical media, I pay attention. It's like putting on some vinyl; I get to know the music better, and I get a stronger emotional response than I do when streaming, or playing CDs (CDs are great, but they're nowhere near as tactile as cassettes or LPs - for me, there's no emotional attachment with a CD). While binge-watching your stuff this week I've realised that rather than curate my tape collection as a homage to the music that I liked in my early teens, I can re-record the music I still like (lots of them sound crap, but now I know it was the equipment and re-recording will transform them), and re-use cassettes whose bands I don't listen to. I'm really excited about that last part; exploring new music by recording it to tape and then listening to it over and over will teach me far more than browsing through an online catalogue and clicking "Play", before losing attention and moving on to something else. So thank you. I owe you a few beers.
I love your videos and often rewatch them I like to listen to them while playing on my switch Been having fun with cassettes this year I bought the latest metallica album on cassette Also pre ordered Kula Shaker new album on cassette and signed CD
And also, nice setup of cassette decks and CD’s. I only have my Technics RS-B11W from 1985 and it still works, except Deck A works for recording, but sometimes had speed issues since it was playing too fast due to loose connection with wire.
woah ive been watching your videos ever since it first came out. i and im in my 40s and still have my cassettes and spend $300 and change for a JVC TDW 317 big deck had that since in the late 90s and I still use it and its playable and its sounds good still. i can relate watching them videos keep it up mate. lovin it!!
One of my favorite things to do is drag some awful tape across a 3 header and recording something that still sounds listenable, finding it years later and being very surprised.
All good things must come to an end ffs! Wonderful stuff and plenty to binge watch. Massive thanks and kudos to you for it all. I grew up making tapes and was horrified to see how much I didn’t know when I happily bumped int your content. The very best to you and yours Tony….Legend .
And recently, I scored 30 cassettes off of eBay and they’re all 1988 TDK D’s and they’re all looked fantastic, but it has airchecks recorded off of WUMB and WERS which were the two public radio stations in Boston, MA back in 1990. I have to transfer these two MP3, so I can record Old Time Radio shows on them.
i still have my Revox B 215 and will be keeping it but i can see your point about the Naks far to complicated and expensive to keep serviced compared to the Revox Direct Drive, easy to clean and it had been re-caped and had new pinch rollers fitted and compared to what a Dragon would cost a bargain 😊
I don’t owned a Revox deck, it’s too expensive. I also have my Technics RS-B11W cassette deck along with two shoebox cassette recorders including my Audiotronics 148B cassette recorder which was under “Classette” which were used in schools and my Superscope Storyteller cassette player from the 1970’s and it was the only cassette player which was playback only, and it was a novelty, because it was made for kids. This was usually came with the Superscope Storyteller book and cassette tapes where you can get them back in the 1970’s.
Tony. Yoo is an invaluable bloke providing an invaluable service! I too morn the loss of Paul and Steve. Gentlemen of audio. Only a little observation. If I may. There was very little LF in your source to make the Type1 bickle at the knees. They are a real and viable alternative to T2. Why would anyone willingly want to turn their heads into dust using a Metal tape??? Not me. Lets just enjoy ourselves and our cassetts while we can still afford the leckie. A Merry Christmas to you and your family Tony. Mike in Germany
Cheers buddy. There will be more videos...
I agree with him 1000 percent Tony, you were so instrumental in me trying other tape formulations, but you are also correct that these tapes are extremely expensive.
Likewise, you make me understand if some tapes are worth investing or not. Love your analytics on Cassettes.
Just got into cassettes, and Tony’s channel has served as an invaluable treasure trove of knowledge, Thank you for educating me and other younger people on this timeless audio format. Every video is an absolute joy to watch, cheers!
We appreciate you and what you've done. Also, thanks for all the content, so much to look back on. ❤
You built a great body of work. Just check in every now and then.
Thanks for everything
Thank you Tony for everything you are doing to keep this format alive.
In the 90's and early 2000s for us in Eastern Europe (Romania in my case) RAKS was the TDK of the poor. 😀
I still have almost 300 recorded RAKS different models like SD-X, ED-SX, HD-XI, ED-X, SD-S.
Hi Tony! I was very happy to see you. I can't imagine you without Dragon and Revox. Don't lose your joy! We all love you! I will not give up hope that your recorded single "Embrace the Chaos" will become available.❤
Never say never
Said it before and I’ll say it again, you’re channel changed my life! Congratulations on the weight loss ! The best is yet to come 🤠
Thanks for all your information. It has been a relearning curve as a child of the 70/80s
I just bought a 2004 used car, with 40,000 miles on it. The most exciting thing about it? It still has the original OEM cassette player! I can't wait to listen to my cassette collection on the road! Whether cassettes ever make an actual comeback or not, I'll always be a cassette fan! ALWAYS!
Your life stands at Nr.1 Tony! Happy to see you come on now and then, I will stick around regardless. Have fun tinkering on some nice Bentleys 😉.
Indeed you've never looked better. Many thanks for all the great videos and I am sure we'll meet again. Happy tapin' !
Wish more were like you. Keep up the good work and spread the word!
Im trying.. other people think why cassette tapes when i can listen to Spotify or UA-cam.. a lot of cassette players are broken and must be repaired.
Cheers. That means a lot.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Tony! So glad you are feeling good and doing good.
An early Christmas present, thanks Tony! All the best to you and yours, and to all fellow subscribers!
Thank you, Tony for sharing your knowledge
I'm glad you're doing fine. That's what really matters. Thank you for all the videos you've done. I do appreciate them. Greetings from Mexico.
You're a great reviewer of cassettes Tony, even without the Nakamichis!
I don’t owned the Nakamichi deck, because they’re too expensive. I only have my Technics RS-B11W cassette deck and still works, except the recording was running way too fast, but I had to hit the side to get it running to normal speed.
Your videos help me find some rare cassettes and hoping to see more videos from you….enjoying the content
Top guy. Cheers!
I have really enjoyed your videos. Thanks so far!
Thanks, from Australia, for everything over the years, glad you are doing well
I used to love buying NOS Type 2 .
Thank you for another free video.
BIG UPS TONY. Welcome back!
I still love cassettes and thiis channel - congrats on the positive life changes!
Merry xmax to you tony, and your family. Let's hope that you got nack back and your daughter get her pink cassettes ;)
That aiwa is an incredible recorder.
Tony your videos are super insightful and interesting! Keep them coming!
Tony love your videos keep up the great work 😊😊
Tony - I couldn't agree with your final sentiments more!
As always it was a great watch ❤
How can you say cassettes aren't making a comeback?
Today I can go online and I am spoilt for choice of vintage NOS cassettes and even restored decks. People can enjoy to this day the charm of the analog media with vintage and modern music, digital mastered and lossless files. The first medium capable of empowering the masses of doing so.
So if you feel you can't continue to lose money on making videos, rest assured it wasn't for nothing. Cassettes have definitely come back and they're here to stay. I respect your choices, your videos have been inspirational to many.
I guess the "comeback" in my mind would have encapsulated new decks with new tech and new tape formulations. How good would they have sounded...
I'm glad I was able to buy NOS Chrome tapes at reasonable price around 3-4 years back. Nowadays, they cost just as much as rare Metal tapes back then.
Merry Christmas to you and God bless ya mate!
caught you late to your channel. Thaanks for all you hve done. good luck with your future.
Great you are happy in your life, that's important. I am glad for you.
Fuji DR was also made by Saehan..
👍
Brought type 1 in my 60s,used Fuji DR,Maxell UD,TDK D,AD,Sony AHF at garage sales for as low as 10 for 1AUD,thanks for your knowle dge and research.
Wondering if you'll be doing another video to review the other cassettes like the Woolworths Chrome?
Yeahhhh! Great Xmas pressie. A vid from Tony
Thank Shag, you're back Tony! Missed you in f**ktons mate!
You are an excellent spokesman for anything interesting. Perhaps diversification in order.
Never say never. How about a weekly show of 4 middle aged men moaning about things in modern life that they don't understand or don't like 😆
So many cool tapes I've never heard of in this video.
You earn a good cassette recording, so they mean more 😁
I love your videos and often rewatch them
I like to listen to them while playing on my switch
Been having fun with cassettes this year
I bought the latest metallica album on cassette
Also pre ordered Kula Shaker new album on cassette and signed CD
The very best to you and yours Tony….Legend .
hi!outstanding ~I'll be back-Cassette~😉
You can still have a lot fun with lower end decks. I never had a very high end one, my top one is a Technics RS B765.
