- I wonder if there's actually any difference between the top and bottom wash. I can never remember getting so little out of a $10 car wash. To make matters worse, it didn't even cover the basics. The presoak barely even touched the top of the car, the tire scrubber scrubbed my door, there was no spot free rinse, and the dryer was completely worthless. I can tell you one thing- I'll never come back here!
What do you think? Is this the worst deal I've ever gotten?

Just looked this place up on Google Maps, and there was a Wesumat Soft Wash there a year or two prior to the recording to this video! It was replaced with this XS (which was definitely bought used) sometime between 2012 to 2014. As of September 2018 the wash is still there.
Cool James No wonder why there was a Mark VII instruction sign at the entrance and a Unitec Portal TI.
The thing that I love about the softgloss XS is it’s one of oldest in the ryko softgloss family

Absolutely! Not only is it the worst deal, your car probably didn't come out too clean. Come on I mean there are $7 washes that at least include tri foam and some form of a clear coat. But simply a weak coating of presoak and water obviously doesn't do justice for a $10 wash. I'd be amused to see what the basic wash had to offer! Probably everything you got minus the buffed out door from the wheel buffer. Keep the great videos coming though!

Your're an absolute madman for driving you car into this. Poorly maintained car washes are an immense risk for your paint. If it rubbs the dirt in its brushes over your paint you will get a lot of scratches.
I like seeing car washes fail xD But I like seeing cars not start more than failed car washes :D

All the brushes with hardly any lubrication(soap).. this is terrible for the car, swirl mark city... brushes and frankly everything needs to be re calibrated. Like someone else said in the comments, poor maintenance.. there was absolutely no foam at all
Ryko Softgloss Maxx 5 brush are my favorite carwashes. But there is one near where I live that is not very good.
Gas Station Car Washes are usually unattended most of the time.
That was essentially an express wash but with the wheel scrub enabled. Makes you wonder what the lower washes do.
I like to imagine the $7 just covers your car in some soap, maybe a bit of spot free water if you're lucky, then boots you out of the bay

This same system was right near my old house and it was also in really poor shape.
Hopefully this location ended up upgrading their system since then.
So according to Google Maps, this wash was actually installed used. It replaced a fairly rare Mark VII Wesumat Soft Wash in between late 2012 and mid-2013.
Wesumat is actually its own separate company.

Looks like it wasn’t even getting cleaned just for the machine to work right. It looked rusty and the brushes had sand or something on top like ice cream.
I saw that the thrust-pro dryer top failed to come down then came back to the top.

+The Elevator Channel Surprise, AZ has this system and it's a whole lot better just east of Bell after taking Litchfield.
It has another car wash on the west of Bell.

This what I call a poorly maintained car wash system. I've been to Ryko systems in the past and they never ran like this, they actually ran better. Either the Ford dealership frequently using it or the owners didn't properly maintained this car wash.
Each carwash is completely programmable to reflect the desired options/wash configuration desired by the company who owns it. Also, poor maintenance or neglect by the retailer plays a factor. I feel It is unfair to demean the carwash manufacturer in this instance
This happened to me as well. I visited this Laserwash 4000 with newer signage. The whole front panel was popped completely off and I was having doubts about visiting this thing. But I decided to give it a chance, and it ended up in disaster. The wash was $14 (Which is way more expensive then this). All it did was a couple passes of presoak, high pressure rinse, tri foam, the hot lava foam and high pressure rinse and that was it. No spotfree or clear coat. And The dryers turned off when I was halfway through. I might have to video tape it because it was horrible.

I recommend you give it another chance since its been so long. Maintenance could've changed over the years.
My last experience with a Ryko car wash was not good either. More spots after the wash than before. A basic Laserwash or one from Mark VII does a better job. I have been to a Ryko touch-free wash with better results. I think PDQ does the best job of any car wash. Wish they would bring back the Vortex dryer system, super awesome.
At one time this had a Mark VII from the signage. Pretty interesting. I like the XS series for its simplicity and that it really doesn't take that much to maintain as long as you take care of it, unlike this wash. You can even see the old Mark VII E-Chain holder to the right at 1:22

How do you compare that system to the terrible Ryko Ultrasonic that you filmed two years ago in Lake Ozark, MO, which was cheaper at only $6?

$10?!?!? This thing didn't even include spot free water!!!! Wow. You got totally ripped off man... whoever owns this thing is marking his prices up at least 90% Also, This is a SoftGloss XS, Not an XS 2. The XS 2 Has tall front arms. (Some people call it he XS 1, but the proper name is the XS)
It was incredibly bad. I'm not sure how that wash cycle could have been made any shorter (within reason), so there must be no difference at all between the three wash options. My car looked terrible after this wash. The lack of spot-free water and the useless dryers were a lovely combination. At least I can say that the whole purpose of this visit was for the video, and it certainly made for an interesting one.

***** I Guess it doesn't include the "Wheel-Scrub". Also It most likely doesn't include the clearcoat protectant, which didn't sheet or bead whatsoever so i'm guessing the owner is diluting it to almost nothing. This wash probably costs $.10 worth of chemicals, water and electricity, so this is absolutely shocking.

The door is scrubbed by the wheel scrubber system is not maintained I've been through one worse than that one at a chevron station literally got the top wash triple foam was still on the car it had a thrust pro dyer did not come down I once saw a mark Vii with the door open two days later it was gone now it's a bp In Alabama bp cheveron texaco do not take car washes seriously shell cefco are the only ones that take em seriously now they are storage sheds at cheveron and bp we do not even have phillips66 where we are there's one in Thomasville al but it's a truck stop no 711s any where in al we have circle k Clark purple cow kangaroo etc

Hello The Elevator Channel this car wash is now Unavailable because I checked it on Google Maps via Street View and their car wash isn’t being used anymore and the doors are down

I DON'T! The FreeStyler in a little to violent and the MAXX are not.

OLD WASHES ARE BETTER THAN THE NEW ONES! The new ones are not high quality and break down more easily than the new ones! This one was bad because the owner bought is used and who ever owned before, did not take care of it.

The main differences are triple foam, different arms, and more options for the XS2.

$10 for no 3X foam or Spot Free rinse, and a shitty dryer cycle sounds pretty shitty to me. That's not even worth $5 just a presoak, wash cycle, rinse without spot free water, and a crappy dryer is really only worth $2
RYKO Had not used triple foam when this system came out in 98.
If you want something done right you have to do it yourself
