Thanks so much! You get the sense of a powerful, small and shapely body filled with an immense amount of compressed emotion and the capacity and technique to express it.
What it is really amazing that I am at home watching the video and crying, she made me feel all this emotions only watching a video in you tube.you can tell how she sees the willis, how she feels desperate, how she feels cold, she wants to live but what is the point without him?ohhhhhhh, this was really heartbreaking
My favorite modern Giselle mad scene is a cam recording of Osipova in Siberia, on TheBunduBallerina's channel one of the most "real" interpretation I could find.. But Olga's.. Not matter if it was in 1920 or 2020.. Her Giselle is the only one who genuinely SCARES me. See at 0:490:52..almost like a disarticulated spider.. Or a young girl who truly just lost her mind after having felt her heart break in millions of unfixable pieces leaving only the shell of what used to be a human being full of hope and love and now - darkness and.. Void. Terrifying.
probably filmed without sound because it was done with a handheld camera from the audience, and in the 1930s an amateur camera would not have been able to record sound.
Olga Spessivtzeva...what a rare artist. A daring interpretation
that only a Spessivtzeva had the creative genius to achieve.

Astounding. She wasn 't a ballerina, she was Giselle!

As a young man I knew Sir Anton Dolin who was one of her partners.
Thank you very much for this.

Hello goldenidol, I am directing a music video that pays homage Olga Spessivtzeva. Is the footage above public domain?

What would you give to see the entirety of this performance? I'd especially love to see her in Act 2.
Of course, not. It was filmed without sound - who knows why?The piano was added later.
There is no dance left in this scene. This is ballet. This is not a theatre play. Emotions should be expressed through dance.
Well this is the Mad Scene!! It’s all about the acting!
