I posted here a few weeks ago commenting how helpful this video was. I just finished the battery, screen and power supply replacement. I started the process and unfortunately cracked the screen pretty badly along the way. Ordered new screen via Amazon and already had the battery. Btw - a thin guitar pic(s) really do the trick for getting the screen off. That said, removing the batter was really easy. The video was very helpful for removing the screen. Of the things I found helpful was using both the double-sided tape and T-7000 adhesive. Letting the adhesive cure but everything is working nicely, including wifi, updates, sound, etc... Thanks.
Great video. What was the glue/epoxy you were using before you put the screen back in place? Also will a hair dryer work if you don't have a heat gun to loosen the glue? - thanks
Thank you for liking it. You can search for this adhesive on eBay as double-sided 2mm adhesive. A hair dryer may not be enough because this model has a very hard adhesive.
I may going through this exercise in the next day or two. I was hoping you wouldn’t mind answering a few more questions. I’ve ordered a heat gun and battery. Model is 1901 - according to Best Buy where it was originally purchased - it’s a Surface Go 3 but seems to take the same battery as the Go 2. First question is, about long did you have to use the heat gun to melt the adhesive? Also what was the plastic credit card size plastic tool you were using and where can I get one of those? Also the T-7000 glue I’m assuming I’ll need that in addition to the tape? Thanks btw
Hello, Microsoft Surface models have a very sensitive screen, a heat gun may not help you because you have no previous experience. A heat pad or heat platform is more suitable for this job because it is a bit difficult to heat evenly with a heat gun.

@@SBRepair The adhesive tape you used on top was 5mm, not 2mm!
Yes, I used 5mm tape because the top part is wider, but 2mm tape would also be sufficient.

@@SBRepair Hi - I’m sorry, I’m not sure what you mean by heat pad/platform. Would you happen to have a link?
What liquid were you use to easily remove the battery? Is it isoprophyl alcohol?
