- An iconic restaurant in Vancouver's Chinatown is shutting its doors. After more than three decades in business, Goldstone Bakery won't be reopening even after the pandemic. And the concern is, many other businesses in the historic neighbourhood are facing the same fate.
the last time i was there in the 90s
but still sad knowing this place is gone
They started their business in the late 1970's with the first to introduce Hong Kong style of dinning and bakery and now COVID took their business. Really sad.
The owners own happy day cafe which is located on joyce and kingsway and one in richmond
Everyone has gone to richmond . Historical Chinatown is dead . Skid row has killed it .
seeing a growth near 33rd to 41th and Victoria.
@@ginNjus The Chinatown part or the skid row part? Because last time I check, 41th is close to where East Indians used to be.
If it's the skid row, Hmmm...
@@Jestersage 41st doing well.
Goldstone Bakery is one of the best in Chinatown. They also serve great authentic Hong Kong Western Cantonese style cuisne which is very unique of their kind.Too bad to see it goes.
Sad day 😿
They are one of the major landmark in Vanouver Chinatown.
I just don’t feel safe in that area. Sad that this is happening.
Similar to a Toronto bakery so sad

Chinatown is more Vietnamese town nowadays.Fifth and sixth generation Chinese descendents from Chinatown are 80% white in the 21st century from the many inter-racial marriages !
Ask Meng Wanzhou for help.
Skid road is spreading !
Chinatown has the best old school Chinese food. Where's those vaccines?! The clock really is ticking for everyone!
It’s the malignant Narcissist Psychopaths .. I mean the homeless that are scaring people away from the area. I used to live in Yaletown. Make loitering illegal
There’s a lot of junkies
turn 10 of those cash only lil spots legal and yall can save richmond jr
Too many druggies stays there. Not safe
They went inside the restaurants and solictating customers for donation.
