- Where to even begin. When the city of LA still owned this, it was strictly used for commerical at LAX. I pretty much told myself there was no way I'd ever get footage. I did contact an airport employee a couple years ago, but I guess he wasn't able to get the footage. Fast forward many years later, the owner at Loyola Disposal showed me the new truck he bought. I couldn't believe the truck still existed, old stuff like this is usually scrapped for metal. He said he had plans to fix it up and paint it, so I asked if I could film it in LA colors before he paints it. Sure enough he agreed and we were at the yard the next morning. I was expecting it to sound different since it was CNG, but after hearing it start up I completely forgot it was CNG.
Once he brought the truck out, he let us operate it. However the inside controls for the forks weren't going down, so we had to use outside controls. So if the operating seems a bit slow that's the reason. I can't tell you how great it felt to be inside of an old LA Volvo in it's original paint. This truck looks, sounds, and is a beast. Huge thank you again to the owner for letting us see this truck in action. By now, this truck is painted different colors and the controls have been fixed so I can't wait to film it on route.

This has to be one of the meanest sounding trucks I’ve ever heard, unbelievable that it’s a CNG. I remember seeing this at LAX years ago, but thought it would be scrapped. Awesome video once again, definitely going into the favorites

hooollllllllyyyy shit. This is just something you really just don't anymore. That by itself makes this an incredible find. The fact it's still on home grounds and in original paint, albieted almost completely worn down makes this even sweeter. And would you know it, Natural Gas can sound as good as a Diesel(This was a converison though, so go figure). This reminds us all to never stop looking, because whenever you think you've seen it all, something else will come out of the woodwork.

Dope find bro ! I was shocked to see pictures of this truck when you posted them and still in it’s original colors . Was this the only Volvo AVI that LABOS brought or were they more ? I’m am still curious how many 310 AVIs LABOS had considering I only saw one of these AVI back in 2008. If you found this truck still in it’s original paint imagine what other older LABOS trucks there still are in it’s original LA colors . There’s possibly a 310 Pete Amrep ASL , a 310 Pete AVI and possibly a ex LABOS heil still in LA colors . Hope you can film this truck on route as I’ll be looking forward to watching.
