Yep. In addition to the fear of suffocation, there are just too many unknowns. There could be bottomless underwater trenches. And you never know WHAT kind of creatures are down there. The ones we know about are already frightening enough. What if you swim in a certain area, and discover that the Megalodon IS in fact out there? What if a giant octopus drags you down and suffocates you? And, there's always the fear of an "Open Water" scenario, where the boat leaves you behind, and you're at the mercy of the ocean. I'll stick with swimming pools. I have no desire to be out in the middle of the ocean.

It's sad that we, humans, find amazing and unique species of underwater creatures, that are actually quite amazing and beautiful, in their own way, freaky, scary and even horrifying. These creatures have survived longer than humans and should be viewed with the utmost respect. They may be very different from what we're used to seeing, but calling them "freaky" and, more often, "horrifying" is such a huge error on our part. These creatures, like the Goblin Shark, for example, may be strange, and a bit odd looking to us, but they are actually quite amazing, having beautiful features that aren't found on any other species. To call them horrifying, lends to the belief that they SHOULD be feared and not seen as the amazing creatures that they truly are. In fact, most so-called horrifying creatures are usually species that live in areas far from human contact, which is possibly why we tend to call them horrifying, when, in truth, we call them that because of our fear of the unknown. And we've only researched about 20% of all the bodies of water on the planet. Imagine what could be still undiscovered in all that water we haven't explored yet. It can baffle our tiny brains. 🙂👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

This video sounds like one of those shows that would air on one of your local channels on Saturday afternoon in the 70s after you were done watching all the good cartoons and were ready to go outside for the rest of the day. I think like 9.12 people watched those corny locally produced patronizing 30 minutes of cornball.

I feel like I'm missing something, 2000 year old bones, fossils of lemurs, yet the salt water dissolved the bones of the Titanic victims? I'm confused, am I missing something?

    • @introverted.artist9230

I think it also has to do something with the water depth and the amouth of pressure the bones are subjected to. I dunno either tho, I'm no expert in any way. 🤷‍♂

When marine biologists first found angler fish, they could not figure out why there seemed to be no males...only females with these sort of external tumors. Well, it turned out that the "tumors" were the males. During mating season, the males are somehow attracted to the females and permanently attach themselves.

I'm curious about how the determination was made, confirming 13000 y.o. human remains found in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico.., were those of a "young girl named, 'Naia' ?" 🙄
Did the divers find identifying markers that led them to believe this? Or were records located, (i.e.; birth/death/marriage) in/around nearby adjacent geographical cities, that alluded to these details being provided as 'facts'? 🤔
And finally, in reference to the 'other' human remains, found in the 'Evil Mayan Caves'.. . I would think, that the probability of these being Human Sacrifices is relatively probable, due to many historical accounts of these practices..; in religious artifacts, Mayan hyroglifics, urban legends..; that lead locals to admonish young about avoiding & not entering these places.
Whether or not these may or mayn't have been 'sacrifices' would probably depend on various factors, including; confirmed religious practice in that specific region, in that particular period of time, population densities, location of these 'pits' in relation to frequently traveled paths..; which would affirm/disaffirm accidental falls; and ultimately if there were any of the "stress" hormones present, that in recent years have been found to indicate whether the person was experiencing physical trauma or in dire fear, at the onset of their untimely demise? 😕
