I'm currently doing my first year in Stellenbosch university,I was a graduate in electrical engineering. You are correct, they need a motivational letter with your application, and if you get shortlisted you are invited for an interview. If you are successful then you will be part of the 20 students selected. It is very competitive
@@thatomoacwiemang9892 the average was +/- 74% but I did really well in matric I just didn't go straight into medicine from high school because of funding. I personally wouldn't advice anyone to do engineering as a way to get into medicine though because it is extremely difficult, you are more likely to fail than get a high average. And I did it at VUT. And Stellenbosch is not really specific on the average to get in with your qualification but 75% should be okay, and also a motivational letter gives you a chance to explain your academic, professional and extra curricular work which can improve your chances if you do alot such as volunteering and community projects, they are interested in a holistic applicant who offers more than just academics. And there are people who did various degrees from music, law ,BSc ,etc so your average matters not the qualification
