Hello all, snakemanracing from Wisconsin here. LOVE my KP Mini. Bought 2 and doing diff things with each one. I have built a few Groms, I sell Honda products, and they are reliable, functional, and unfortunately EXPENSIVE. ( For a toy bike). I have also built up a Z for a friend and he spent thousands on mods and i still smoke it with only a few mods on my KPM !!! lol Anyway, I do love the Honda and Kawasaki product, ( I've ridden and road-raced them for decades), but believe me, there's plenty love left out there for Lifan and a few others !!!!!..... I sell Lifan in Shawano Wisconsin for anyone in the Midwest wanting one! But, that's NOT my reason for commenting! Having traveled to China and other Asian countries, I have seen so much in manufacturing that saying Chinese made, does not anymore mean cheap junk....You must research, research, research. Buyer beware because there IS a fair amount of garbage that comes from China that just plain sucks. I am very impressed with the Lifan fit and finish. From the plastic quality that is not brittle and thin, to the excellent paint finishes, they look great! The steel is cut and welded with precision, and when assembling machines from the crate, they take great care in packing them properly for the ride over seas. The machines need minimal prep out of the crate, and don't need any tuning or "fixing" right out of the box like I've had to do with "other" brands. I have purchased over 30 units so far, sold many of them, and the customer reviews are well over 90% rated "excellent, love it, rides and performs as expected". The reviews also include other units from Lifan that I sell which are the KP200 and KPR200. Just wait til you see the new stuff that's coming stateside in the near future from Lifan! More comments to come as I'd love to spread the word on Lifan!! I'll be in China in September, and am trying to get a Lifan factory tour, but the American VP said it may be tough to accommodate for only 2 people at this time. I'll be going to Hangzhou to the CF Moto factory, but hope to visit a few other factories for both whole units and parts/accessories. Peace ya'll, ride on n see ya round the web!
Wow! Im glad there is someone who is building the KPM :) I was thinking about the KP200 as another bike. How does it perform? I would LOVE to make a video to see how these bikes are made in china. Personally even with the 2024 one I'm hoping to at least get a full exhaust for it, and either buy custom or custom myself the turn signals attached to the handle bars near the grips is just ugly wouldn't mind it much closer to the headlight assembly. And of course that rear fender is bulky and too big it's ugly. So I'd love to delete that but also keep the rear turn signals. Of course maybe a tad faster. Honestly don't mind the mph I'd want the torque down low. More power midrange. Not top speed. Just a bit quicker nothing chasing top speed. Maybe aftermarket mirrors too. And maybe maybe after a while a better clutch . Maybe engine work if I find someone who knows how to. Like a bore kit or whatever it is. Where did you buy your Lifan? I'm trying to find a dealer near me, but not having any luck. If I have to, I'll skip one in. My son wants a bike and this looks like a good every level bike

2 year Warranty and as long as regular shipping. Not like amazon prime fast but manageable. If you have a dealer near by it includes parts and LABOR for the first year , just parts for the second year. I’ve had misc parts replaced over the past year but minor things. I hope this helps
It’s worth EVERY penny over the Vader. Only advantage the Vader has over the mini is that it has crossover parts with the Grom and the z190 swap is available also. If you buy one let me know

Hey! I just got a 2017 lifan for a great deal with 4 miles on it. My buddy has a grom and can find tons of aftermarket parts for his. I'm having trouble trying to fing some. Got any suggestions?
Its a new bike and parts are getting releases slowly

There is a fender eliminator series I have you can watch also with a universal part
AND your faster than your buddies grom by a lot!
@@SmallEngineVelocity yes I am lol. His brother just got the new Honda Monkey and im still faster. I wanted to get an exhaust for mine. But if I couldn't find one I was gonna puch out the baffel and then rivit the end cap back on to make it looks stock lol thank you
Where did you buy your Lifan? I'm trying to find a dealer near me, but not having any luck. If I have to, I'll skip one in. My son wants a bike and this looks like a good every level bike

It will come in a crate and would make a sweet father and son project to put together (not a lot of stuff to do). Search my channel and you will see the KPR200 lifan and how it came in a crate and what it takes to out and out together.
@@SmallEngineVelocity that's for the mini as well? I watched your video on the KPR200. If I ever decide to get off my Ruckus, I may look into one of those myself. I don't know if I got the coordination to shift with my foot and left hand. Lol 😋. I drive tractor trailers, so I can shift a vehicle
That is the place recommended by American Lifan to purchase. Venom motorsports also sells them online. Also never get off your ruckus :) never get rid of it and keep it forever. The mini and the KPR fill in the space for longer rides with friends with bigger bikes.
@@SmallEngineVelocity I love my Ruckus. Don't think I'll ever get rid of it. But eventually I do need to graduate to something bigger for those longer commutes. Thanks for all the info. Love the videos
Does lifan really back there warrantty? Does it take long them ship parts
2 year Warranty and as long as regular shipping. Not like amazon prime fast but manageable. If you have a dealer near by it includes parts and LABOR for the first year , just parts for the second year. I’ve had misc parts replaced over the past year but minor things. I hope this helps
@@SmallEngineVelocity i might buy this tomrrow as long as its reliable. I looked at a 125cc vader to
It’s worth EVERY penny over the Vader. Only advantage the Vader has over the mini is that it has crossover parts with the Grom and the z190 swap is available also. If you buy one let me know
Small Engine Velocity these are on amazon I’m going to buy one but should I buy from a dealer or amazon does it make a difference? Would love to have some feedback thank you
@@nicoleharoldgillenwater1663 did you buy one?
It takes 150 cc to legal ride on the freeway in CA. Is this legal? Cuz technically it's slightly below 150 CC's but does that matter?
Not sure but for sure it can ride on the freeway. I rode it all the way to Galveston
how long does the gas last you before you pump again?
Very late but over 115 miles per gallon
Where do you get your mods?
Some from amazon , some universal that I made work. Shop.sevproductions.com check out my amazon store
Whats the actual engine model number?
Not sure but it’s a Honda CB150 clone
People have found Big Bore kits to 208cc already
@@SmallEngineVelocity Just wanting to get dimensions and bolt pattern to see if the 250cc ohv engine can be put in.
So grom vs kp 150 drag race what would win?
KP mini every time no mater how many mods the grom has on (accept a BBk)
What’s the top speed?
I’ve got 75mph
70 MPH On the Lifan KP Mini 150cc - Lifan KP Mini Speed Test [BONUS] At the end almost hit by 2 cars
Small Engine Velocity that’s awesome! Definitely a grom killer. Thx for the reply I’m getting one 😀

Do you have any group members/friends in the Katy area? I've been waiting to run into other small engine owners
Look up Ruck City on google maps , they are there all day and they have rides and stuff all the time - plus you can chat with other small bore People
@@SmallEngineVelocity Thanks!
I am going to have some spring meetups , we can meet at vintage and ride to old town spring in feb for the meet
I saw you SOLD your KP 150 to someone on a Facebook site!!! - I watched ALL your videos on the KP 150 BEFORE I bought TWO NEW ones for LESS than the cost of ONE Honda Grom and I got a TWO YEAR WARRANTY on BOTH - not to mention 25 MORE CCs !! Why did you sell your KP 150??
I crashed on it and I was anxious riding it because I broke my arm. I should have stored it rather than trade it. I very much regret my decision.
@@SmallEngineVelocity I am SO sorry to hear about your injury and trade. I put off road tires on my KP 150s and that will be about 90% of the riding I will do with them because I have a 600CC Honda Silverwing AUTOMATIC SCOOTER and a 700CC Honda CTX AUTOMATIC Motorcycle for STREET riding. I also have a Yamaha TW200 for Off Road riding as well. Take care and I will keep track of you to see what you acquire as well as tips you bring to UA-cam 😉👍
@@SmallEngineVelocity Yeah dude, you were just geeking out for a bit because you got a little broken arm. You would have eventually got your confidence up again and would want to ride again. Plus how did you crash? What happened, maybe I can be the head of the situation if I ever end up in a similar crash you got in
Can you ride these on the road without a license?
No not in any state far as I know
lol why on earth would you think that
Anything that’s street legal needs a license
Depends on the state. Example , Wisconsin a 49cc is street legal but does not require a license. In the case of this bike I’m sure it’s all over the US you need an endorsement
He said living in the suburbs like that was a bad thing I nigga live in the hood Try making it out here bro Live in the summer is to much for you or too costly don’t live in the suburbs😶😶🤣🤣🤣🤣
TRY OWNING THAT BIKE IN ANY HOOD AND SEE HOW LONG BEFORE IT GETS STOLEN. YOU COULD WELD IT INTO A STEEL STRORAGE CONTAINER AND COME BACK THE NEXT DAY AND IT WOULD STILL BE IN THERE BUT THE WHEELS AND RIMS WOULD BE GONE
These Lil things are hyper scooters.. well that said I know of a few cheap scooters that will walk off from these things.. but fun none the less.. not kicking them. If ya out on one then you enjoy it for what it is.for the money to fun ratio. the fun wins..
I like the ratio comment , mind if I use that in a video ???
Go for it.. they are alot of fun for the money.. thanks also.. great video.
Honda gears, engine, reliability compared to anything Chinese?
Really? Drive any Japanese bike then do the reviews
YOU YOUNG KIDS HAVE NO IDEA what it was like to spend about $2-300 and get you a fairly new Yamaha DT 125 or 175, or even better a Honda MT 25 Elsinore or a Kawasaki KT 125 enduros, street legal and way more practical and fun as well as outrun this junker on the street and trails. Or a Yamaha RD 125 street which would blow the doors off this turtle. Newer is not always better! PS these were all 2 strokes!
Lol look at this 4 yrs in the future from when this video was made and now looking at lifans and they're $2800 bucks. They're just as expensive as a used grom right now lol 😂
I just bought my 2023 and it was shipped to my door w title for $2050.
Save for a Z125 or Grom don’t buy Chinese junk .
Price makes no difference if you're spending 2 grand on Chinese junk.
Truth!
Just because it's from China doesn't mean it's junk. It's best to do research and this the best Grom alternative next to z125 and SSR Raskul
Also Lifan has a pretty good name from what I hear. Lifan engines are great Honda clones from I have heard, if them being a Honda clone is even true
Hey man I’m about to buy a kp Mini Lifan! Does it need an oil change after it’s shipped? Also does anyone know where to buy after market parts such as a fender eliminator kit?
I changed it after like 100 miles. I have a fender Delete series but there is not product for it yet. Most parts have to come from your dealer. Email sales@americanlifan.com and they can hook you up. The exaust is too knotch and worth the all the pennies :)
I changed mine immediately but I knew I was going on a 2000+ ride and I didn’t want to worrie about it we did 2 oil changes in hotel rooms lol
