This game was so underappreciated, it's one of my favorites. There were some nice features and unique modes. Also the created championships looked real as if they were in game championships. And it's the first WWE game to feature the WCW Championship finally, about Damn Time LOL. A lot of good memories with this one.
I have this game when I was in h.s. and since that time until the mid 2010s I stick around playing the game for the PS2 and I still have both the system and the game and I'm a huge SmackDown fan since day 1. This brings me back to a time when my teenage days were awesome. When the game included ECW I was "extremely" happy the creators took it right out of the park, the control system was top-notch, graphics, exhibition matches, season mode, everything the game has I invested so much. I want to play this game again.

It was the weakest title in the SVR series. The only thing it had going for it was the roster additions that year like Punk, Jeff and the ECW guys. I’ve always wondered if Benoit had a huge role in whatever season mode there was going to be and if it got cut because they didn’t have time to redo everything.
I've always felt his removal impacted a few things, the 24/7 Career/Season Mode was probably one of the bigger ones because I remember that thing being a mess. I wouldn't be surprised to hear they removed a storyline and dialogue revolving around him someday by a dev.@@kahlerwhale9839

Realistically it's 16 years ago. Randy Orton is still here. Carlito back, Rey was semi here. John Cena been here and there. HHH now runs the company and injuries happen for others. Scandals happen and people retire or age out. It's natural but I get it. It's sad. Only Randy stayed consistently minus back injury

First xbox 360 came with this game Christmas of 2007 played 2006 beforehand one of the best games I've ever played soundtrack still holds up our friends would come over we make characters all day and pin them up against each other 😊😊

The only thing I hated about Svr 2008 is that created superstars couldn't use every move because some of the moves were locked to the classes like you couldn't use technical moves on powerhouses or hardcore wrestlers
I honestly dont hate this game as much as most do. Sabu & Jeff Hardy were a HUGE selling points for me and I genuinely enjoyed the gameplay like I did with the previous game
Even though SvR 2008 is a mixed bag to me, I still have a lot of fun memories playing it. Even today I still play it via PS3 or PSP via emulator.The 24/7 mode is still playable. Repetitive but cool. My own opinion about this is that they could have just retained main gameplay of SvR 2007 while introducing the new fighting styles. Fighting Styles are cool, especially the Hardcore where it gives you full momentum every time your player bleeds.

It came from the WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 Steel Collector's Edition. Since this was so successful I'm looking into finding/buying more collector editions especially if they have special videos. Right now I'm about to upload a remaster of the 2008 gameplay trailer in 4K 60FPS.
That's the one game where it all started going downhill 😥 . The class system was too restrictive to really have fun, GM Mode had became way too easy, we could only pick one of a very short list of Superstars for Season mode instead of any Superstar we want in the previous games... Because of it's many flaws, compared to 2007 who was a million times better on all aspects, 2008 was the first real " bad " game they released, for me. ( and then 2009 removed GM Mode entirely, which only made things worse... ) . Still. That's really cool to see this. All these years, and I had no idea about this bonus for the collector edition. I had no idea it even had a collector edition to begin with ( wasn't released in my country, so, I had never heard of it. Or at least I don't remember about it at all ) . Sucks it wasn't available for everyone, 'cause that sh%t was really " cool " ( as Carlito would say ) to watch. Made me wish every other WWE games had that in them. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻
This is where it went downhill in my opinion, was not a fan of 08’. The fighting styles felt tacky and made wrestlers feel like clones of each other instead of unique, the roster was also nearly cut in half from 07’ with only 40 wrestlers or something. The GM mode was good though, but you needed to make like 50 CAWs to fill out the 3 rosters lol.
I liked and hearted for your support with watching and commenting. So respect but consider crunching in definition of them working hard around the clock to make deadlines. Remember this game has deadlines that the publishers want even though sometime it's bad for the development of the game and what we would want yearly.

Crazy to have powerhouse, technical 😂, highflyer and hard to reverse finishers. Storyline WWE 24/7 is boring and GM mode 😂 well awesome but unbalanced 😂 but my only favorite part is the sensitivity of every move in the ring and the commentary talks a lot more about the superstars from different brands , smackdown, raw and ecw. Additional they made own attire 😂 instead of copying attire of superstars in the tv. Funny Candice Michelle and Michelle McCool both are outdated in the game 😢😢
"Featuring ECW" their roster was laughably small. The menu shows the tv intros at the time and half the wrestlers in the intros aren't in the game. London/kendrick cade/Murdock deuce n domino were all tag team Champs at the time of production. Sad the roster was really good on TV a the time

I hated the game. The analog controls were awful. Wished they had allowed to customize the controls. The games I loved playing from the Smackdown Vs Raw games was the first game, 2006 and 2007.
She's wearing heels because back then the divas wore regular clothes to the ring and often times had many segments where they wore heels in the ring when speaking. Also the game tried to appeal to female players by letting the girls be very feminine. I miss when wrestling games had the girls in heels and skirts.
No offense but if you're asking why sued wearing heels then you clearly have been a long time WWE fan especially in the 00s. The divas were always like this in the games and the women's division was not serious back then.
