@@celestialcolosseum No, there are always new people joining the game (especially since it's on sale) and I am one. Case in point: the rapid fire in the G2A5 (see dedicated Frothy video) doesn't seem to be there anymore.
I prefer using the mag launcher while on friendly titans as this keeps you in that mid to close range as most titans engage in close range combat, the titan also moves on its own giving you mobility but without distracting you from aiming. Just be ready to bail at a moment's notice as stray shots from enemy titans may hit you.
Update for modern Titanfall 2: The Charge Hack has been severely nerfed. It no longer one-shots Pilots when amped and it now has to charge, albeit for a much shorter time than normal. It still has incredibly high DPS vs titans if you can hit your crits, so I still suggest packing one for larger, more open maps.
I found (well at least in the tech test) that the thunderbolt could be used as a poor man's pulse blade. If you had an idea of where an enemy pilot's general location was but werent sure, or if you knew they were hiding in a building you could fire it off and it would arc lighting to them showing exactly where they were.
amped or wall +archer rocket and ull be blowing through titans hp in seconds.and on open maps its just easy pickings.i have even started 2 use advanced northstar auto by side for easy titan picking and harassment
Charge hack looks amazing ! Does getting in and out of your Titan refill ammo for the anti Titan weapons like it did in the first game ? Also, the Thunderbolt concept is really cool but the very low ammo reserve plus lower damage really hurts it I feel.
Nice to see helpful stuff like this on your channel. Good stuff Frothy. If anyone (excluding you) posted this on the subreddit, with the elitism that's developing over there, it would get downvoted into oblivion. Almost as if the COD crowd is coming over there just to harass the R2 subreddit. I wouldn't put it past them.
You need to amp the CR to get a 1 shot kill with it. Not true with the Double Take... it's capable of headshots, CR seems to not be capable of headshots.
generally in practice I have found that the charge hack does more DPS than the non-charge hack, especially if you're at closer range. I'd strongly consider at least giving it a shot if you don't mind that it's a 2-shot-kill vs pilots.
FrothyOmen I run EPG as my primary anyway so I never used it VS pilots (as you know epg is one shot any range if it's a direct hit and unlike the Anti Titan has splash) my only concern is Vs Titans
That'll be a topic for when the game actually releases. Poke me in a few weeks or a month, sometime after the game comes out and I'll try to put something together for you.
I know it's been 3 years but I just recently got Xbox gold and the first game I wanted to try was tf2 the charge rifle though I think is different I got charge hack and it doesn't shoot instantly like your does is that something that was changed
FrothyOmen Charge Rifle Guide for Titanfall 2 Please Do! Plus the Charge Hack Changed, it is Faster Than The Regular Charge, but Does not Instantly Shoot
Nothing big, but I noticed you mentioned the archer is a returning weapon. So is the charge rifle. Like I said, nothing serious, just something worth mentioning.
Yeet Myster21 Apparently you didn't look at your control settings... or try checking your control settings... It's "switch to alternate/backup weapon" or something along those lines.
So do the other titan weapons have mods like the charge hack? Do all weapons have these type of mods? If yes, are mods like scatterfire and starburst back?
Hey Frothy I have a question. I'm having a hard time figuring out if I want anti Titan weapons or small side arms as my secondary weapons slots on my main load outs. I have primarily stuck with anti Titan weapons as it seems most useful in the game for most game modes and I usually don't play pilots vs pilots. The heart of what I'm really getting at is this: is it ever really worth having small arms weapons on my loadouts for anything other than pilots vs pilots? And if so why? Thank you very much man.
FrothyOmen well I feel like there should be some kind of strategic reason for using pistols at some point. Otherwise there is content in the game that is never being used.
The reason for pistols is generally to pair with sniper rifles. Snipers actually do good-enough damage versus Titans, they're not useless in that application at all. Sniper with a pistol to defend yourself can be a very fine loadout.
Amp wall, charge rifle and charge hack, seems OP to me. i mean... if a pilot climb up to a far away point, he'll have protection and a one shot no recoil / cooldown and no ranges limits....... dude! campers will camp! what do you think about it? or a full team with this loadout? can you imagine? this is a the only thing that dissapoint me on TF2!
Due to the insane power of the weapons campers wont camp. A decent player will do somethig lime stimm or grapple or phase to the campers and tear them up with a grenade or an alternator. Done, enemy team wasted. They try again? Same tactic. The parkour would also make it a stupid tactic. And amp wall collapses under enoigh damage i believe. So the idea of charge rifle, charge hack and amp wall only works for a bit, then youre gonna die a horribly quick alternator death. Or someone will curve a mastiff shot to your face.
if you played the original titanfall you'll understand even with particle walls it's literally impossible to camp.. The game is about fluidity of motion, and you have to constantly be on your edge. If you stay in one spot for too long, regardless of your vantage point, someone's going to be behind you. You have to think run and shoot fast.
I have played many games where i can sit my titan in glitch spots and stay still while racking up 6 titan kills and about 8-9 pilots before having to move
FrothyOmen first of all, ok I though that because if all the tf's in the names in the video and secondly, HOLY! I did not expect YOU to respond! THAT IS AWSOME!

That's just my personal opinion. Do what you want. I think calling yourself that cheapens what you do. It carries a negative stigma in my mind, in regards to content not being of terribly high quality.
It's not an Anti-Titan weapon anymore. It now resides in the "Grenadier" category, another set of weapons which I have outlined here: ua-cam.com/video/cRzDMwbLc8w/v-deo.html

The big problem of playing Titanfall these days: most guides are outdated.

same..
How is that? Can you be more specific?

What’s the sidewinder?
amped or wall +archer rocket and ull be blowing through titans hp in seconds.and on open maps its just easy pickings.i have even started 2 use advanced northstar auto by side for easy titan picking and harassment
Do.... do amped weapons still affect AT weapons?
is your icon heavily inspired by Canti from FLCL?
yep!
The Archer's rockets appear to be a bit slower than they were in TF1. Can you confirm that?
yes they are a bit slower but i dont that is not that big of a deal
ReachRPM20 but you can fire it with out lock on now, so that helpd
Charge hack looks amazing ! Does getting in and out of your Titan refill ammo for the anti Titan weapons like it did in the first game ? Also, the Thunderbolt concept is really cool but the very low ammo reserve plus lower damage really hurts it I feel.
Another great question! It does NOT refill your ammo, last I checked.

Hmm 🤔 so which is better charge rifle(with charge hack) or magnetic launcher
Hey Frothy What is the extended lock on feature, talked about on the in-game gun tip
So what's the point of using a low zoom, 2 hit snipe like the double take when you can use the Charge Rifle modded for instant fire?
You need to amp the CR to get a 1 shot kill with it. Not true with the Double Take... it's capable of headshots, CR seems to not be capable of headshots.
by how much does the charge hack reduce damage vs Titans?
like give me numbers here how much damage does normal do and how much does reduced do
charge hack : 500 near, 200 far
regular: 825 near, 525 far
titan health 7500 / 10000 / 12500 doom health 2500 shield 1000
FrothyOmen Thank you I was considering it but with that drop off can't really justify it

The mgl also
I know the extra ammo perk on an archer rocket launcher doesn't increase the magazine capacity but does it increase the ammo reserve capacity?
currently leveling up the T-Bolt, seems to be the least useful of the 4, i tell ya, but i will get it done!
So they renamed the Sidewinder the SMR or is that a new weapon entirely?
sidewinder = SMR and is a grenadier weapon now instead of anti-titan
FrothyOmen sweet! Looks even more lethal now than it did in the previous game against infantry.
But how do you use them during the game? What button fo I press? I already have an anti weapon equipped.
I'm sorry but how exactly do you switch to the anti titan weapon? I looked everywhere and tried everything
Yes, yes, no to those specific mods,
FrothyOmen Ohhh that's super cool then!
Is this guide still useful or has there been alot of changes?
I dont think theres been many changes, most of these tips can still be used 4 years later

How do I counter the archer as monarch?
Is the extra ammo mod pointless for the archer? How does it help with the archer?
It gives you a bigger pool of ammo instead of extending your magazine
If it did nothing it wouldn't be there ...
During the Tech Test, I could not level up the Mag Launcher because I was never able to kill a pilot with it.
How would you do that?
Tyler Mounce it's Called ANTI-TITAN weapon for a reason, not really used to kill pilots with but it is possible.
TitanPrime 1314 Still doesn't change the fact that leveling up the weapon required a pilot kill.
Tyler Mounce requiring a pilot kill seems unlikely I don't really know the situation.
Tyler Mounce just shoot them with it. It's hard but it works
I like short and sweet, but I would like a bit more detail. How do these weapons work against pilots. you only reference one.
Charge rifle instakills eithout charge hack, idk bout fag or thunder, and archer can only fire with a lock on to titans, reaperd, and sentries
How do u use anti titan weapons I can't switch to them?
Does an amped archer do more damage than an unamped one, it should right?
Yes, of course
Thanks for answering, cause I actually kinda like the archer, but no doubt what you said is true.
Hey what is your fav titan?:)
Do the Anti Titan weapons have limited ammo, or unlimited ammo like all the other guns?
Anti-Titan weapons do indeed have limited ammo.
unless you play frontier defense, they have unlimited ammo there too
Does mgl damage more than the charge rifle?
Yes
Is there an option to turn on first person executions/embarking
Mr Poool i hope respawn adds them as free dlc
On ps4 what do I press to switch to my anti titan weapon
I know im late and stuff but
You just hold the change gun button
