    good for old bikes, with abs (like in the RSV4) you should better connect a diagnostic tool for bleeding the abs pump too, otherwise that little amount of fluid will not be changed.

  • @crabbiboi5528
    @crabbiboi5528 Рік тому +1

    On most systems if you never let the the system run dry you can just pump the lever normally, without closing the bleeder in-between cycles. Once you have clean fluid in the ststem hold the lever down and close the valve. Sounds crazy but I have bled hundreds of systems this way and never had to bleed any air of the system. Unless you forget and let the reservoir run dry. Air will not come in through the bleeder. I used to do it the way he showed and another tech showed me the expedient method, I never did it the old way again. I was very skeptical. It works.

    • @los2133
      @los2133 Рік тому

      When you let go of the lever the piston returns and creates a vacuum drawing air in you can see it in the tube sucking the bubbles back in if you don’t close the bleeder…

      Are you talking about the brake fluid hose or "your own" hose?

  • @Italianborn
    @Italianborn 9 місяців тому

    Don’t need to tight it by end if you put some liquid into the container where the old one is going, just enough to cover the hose.. so once you pump it no air will get in and it will keep blowing the old liquid out

    If your brakes where bleed when you started, why is there a need to bleed at the master cyl.? There isn't. That bleeder is for when you install a new master cyl. When you bleed at the caliper and you push fluid out through the caliper, the WHOLE system on that master is bled. It wouldn't have worked at all before if the master needed bled. Doesn't hurt anything as long as you do it right, but shouldn't be necessary.

    • @Retardmaxxin
      @Retardmaxxin Місяць тому

      Literally the first word he said was “flushing” .. you 100% need to bleed them after you flush. Also sometimes after 10k miles you may need to bleed them again

    I know it's not much more difficult on a car but people act like servicing a motorcycle is supposed to be difficult or expensive. It took you less than five minutes to flush the brake system. The difference is he could do it by himself whereas on a car you would need technique, a tool, or two people.
    My point is I prefer motorcycles over cars for simplicity and cheapness of maintenance.
    I'm still extremely bitter I can't afford to get a motorcycle since I can't finance one and I've never had more than $1,500 in my bank before.

    Pumping the pedal or lever until it gets stiff just creates you more problems. Don't pump, just gently apply. The back and forth just foams the fluid.

    Ive been having issues lately. Ill pull the brake lever and itll be nice and firm and then ill start riding and ill lose almost all pressure and to get it back ill pump the lever and will have pressure for about 10 seconds or so and back to almost nothing. Ive flushed and bleed them countless times. I have new lines coming in the mail but im starting to think the master cylinder is failing.
