Documentary GhostDance: A methodology to analyse dance movement in interaction with virtual reality

GhostDance is an exploratory academic research project funded by FCT (DOI: [doi.org/10.5449...](doi.org/10.5449..., involving Dance and Virtual Reality.
The increasing presence of digital interaction in our daily lives is becoming more evident. The confinement brought about by the pandemic years has drawn attention to how digital technologies mediate our relationships and raised questions about the significance of physical presence.
In the context of digital interaction, human relationships lose the sense of vivid bodily communication, altering our modes of perception. GhostDance questions how these perceptual transformations might promote a new paradigm in how we relate to others and the world around us.
Specifically, GhostDance investigates the changes in the dancer's bodily perception when dancing with flesh-and-blood partners versus when these partners are replaced by virtual avatars.
