    I learned this from my father. A carpenter, mechanic, businessman, autobody technician, farmer, electrician, bass guitarist, singer, emcee, and more.

    Makes me remind the Knight of Faith Kierkegaard proposes, a man who can enjoy every bite of his meal, lay neatly every brick when building a wall and whistle his dearest songs while taking the usual walks through the forest. Enjoys all things not being enslaved to any one of them.

    the book "Range" by David Epstein does a great job of unpacking this idea and the evidence behind the benefits.

    Excellent! Industrialism/-ization killed this concept. I'd make the argument, but Lytle made it so much better than I could in his essay from I'll Take My Stand.

    People always say that about languages, but every time I learn a new language I forget most of the old languages I learned. I think maybe people who say that are referring to related languages
