This is extremely scary. I really feel bad for the musicians that fell victim to this. As a musician myself (sorry for the plug gotta give a first hand perspective) I don't mind my songs getting reposted. Credit or none. I don't have content ID on for a majority of my (older) releases. It's claiming the music for themselves that really gets me heated.
I know this is completely messed up and we know things like this exist in youtube thats why artist like u and many others have a bad feeling😊

My band teacher a couple years ago said to my class that he got a part of song that he created stolen by a big artist. Apparently the song went viral and the artist that stole the tune got a lot of money. Me and my friends definitely thought r teacher was lieing, but then we looked up the releases of both songs and sure enough our teachers song was stolen. Feel bad.

For those who don’t know they created a company that would post songs but would copyright those who used them. (They did not own these songs) then they would sue and make fake accounts to gain the scanned money. Then the owners of these songs started to catch on to them. They gained 23 mil from this. They were later sentenced to 5 in jail.

I’ve experienced something like this. In a game I play with copyright free music, some random dude came along and copyrighted one of the most popular songs from the game. I’m an extremely small creator so they haven’t done anything to me, but I know other bigger creators who were actually affected by that.
